We arrived early and knew we could not go to our room until after 3pm, so I enquired about the restaurant which was part of the bar area where the menu on offer had a minimal choice of fast food which is the same menu for lunch or dinner. Disappointed with this option, the helpful reception person directed us to a very good restaurant. Our room was on the third floor, but the lift only went to the second floor, then you had to follow a few corridors and stairs to reach our room. We were offered a change of room, but for a one night stay we were not too bothered. Room was clean, bed comfy, unfortunately there was a lot of street noise throughout the night, a town located hotel could do with triple glazing. There was a good selection to help yourself with at breakfast, cereals, fruit and cooked options. Toaster only toasted on one side, on hearing my husband mention this to me, a member of staff immediately sorted out the problem. Not sure why this hotel is rated as 4 star, personally thought this is overrated.

Everything about this establishment during the day was perfect for me. Unfortunately I was booked in overnight and the noise was terrible. It was karaoke night until the early hours in the pub opposite. No sleep! Unless something is done people will continue to write poor reviews or refuse to stay.

Great staff but run down hotel, elevator did not work

Staff was great, friendly, helpful and gave me an upgrade. However, the rooms were quite run down, old carpets and bathroom. Also, the elevator to the last two floors did not work.

It’s a good job my employer paid for this or I would be asking for a refund. Room on third floor but lift only took us as far as second, and then I had to walk around a maze to find my room. The bed was awful and the shower was awful, only mildly warm and very low pressure. Breakfast too was shocking, only sausages on buffet for ten minutes, and by the time the bacon and hash browns arrived, I’d had enough of waiting so left it. Excellent wi-fi though.

Was looking for somewhere for just the one night, in a reasonable location and for a reasonable price. Other than the hot water having trouble heating up, the room provided everything I needed.
