No Suite Upgrades

Trying to book a Suite upgrade, the booking person said Sofitel Wentworth only! Seems Manly Pac does not do suite upgrades, whatever they are? Got Accor hospitality again after tortuous Fairmont experience in Hawaii. Good to be back home.

The hotel is lovely, our room was clean and fresh. The most comfortable bed and pillows (wish I could take them home). Staff at reception were exceptional, polite and helpful. Our table reservation in the bar area was forgotten, a staff member asked the manager for help, we were told to try and find another table. We are pretty easy going, an apology from the manager (Cassie) would have been nice. We found a table in the back, so completely fine. When ordering drinks and food from the bar, we noticed the bar manager Cassie wouldn’t serve us, we have no idea why? Not only was she rude to us, we noticed she was rude to her staff.

room 706 was nicely sized, foyer wide, bed excellent, decor very nice, bathroom excellent. reception woman on sat was very pleasant. Airconditioning noise in hallway was like being behind a jumbo 737 taking off at mascot. temp control in room would not obey commands per instructions on wall, pressed all right buttons in right sequence numerous times. It wanted to sit at 21.5C. Air con noise in bathroom and room was excessive all night. Slept ok. Bistro Manly restaurant was superb on saturday night. Felt like 7 star service. Food for my family of 12 was excellent. Waitress amazing. We tipped her. Liked the maitre' de presence. Breakfast at 10am was superb, fresh tasty and hot. Again great service excellent coffee and plates were quickly removed. Glad we got late checkout. Parking was also essential and little bit disappointed to be charged extra for this. Would stay again... however I feel plus $600 per night is over the top. Stayed at top floor four seasons with uninterrupted views of opera house and bridge for less.
