As a fairly frequent traveller to Berlin for various purposes over 4 decades, this has been my regular stay in town for the last 10 years. Obviously there are reasons why - in a city with such an abandon of excellent hotels at a price level about half of that of Paris or London for a comparable quality - I have been returning to the NBAT for now over a hundred nights over the years. The location is the best in Berlin, on the great avenue running through the huge Tiergarten park right in the centre of the city. Tourists will find quick and easy access - by car, bike, or metro from a station right beside the hotel - to both the historical centre with Brandenburger Tor, Unter den Linden and the main museums, and to the bustling shopping- restaurant- and entertainment centre of post-war West Berlin around the famous Kurfurstendamm und Zoo areas. The business traveller will appreciate the the calm and quiet nights of the park and at the same time the central location. The hotel itself offers spacy, super clean and practically soundproof rooms and suites with very comfortable beds - your reviewer is 1,88 and 120 kgs. and sleeps like a baby here - and yes: American guests will find their indispensable Nespresso machine! Furthermore there is a pleasant and fairly spacious bar-, restaurant- and breakfast area, and a health club on the top floor. Reception staff is - despite a considerable turnover over time - consistently attent, efficient and accommodating, and service throughout the hotel is excellent. I believe the only thing I cannot vouch for here - beside the health club; after all I'm a guy - would be the cuisine at the restaurant; I always dine outside due to several favourite restaurants I've had since long before this hotel opened. But in any case the hotel is few minutes away from the main restaurant district around the Kurfuerstendamm. With respect to parking, the hotel disposes over a number of spaces, spread over 2 levels, in a private, closed parking garage common with an adjoining office tower. We are not talking about hundreds of spaces, but I always come here by car and have always been able to find a space. All in all, I'm most pleased to recommend the Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten for business travellers, families, groups or couples on holiday, city explorers, or just about any type of traveller to Berlin.
