This is the second time I have been to the Novotel Hotel for afternoon tea, and can honestly say it is great value for money and the food was delicious. I had the pleasure of being served by Julet on both occasions and she really makes the visit worth while, a proper character and very efficient and attentive.

Afternoon tea. Wow. This is my second visit with my husband. We had an excellent afternoon. Service was above and beyond, wish I could remember the lady's name who looked after us, she certainly made our visit comfortable. We had to bring our young grandson aged 3 with us as my daughter was not well that day and needed help. We received extra sandwiches,fruit and a small drink for him. We were very grateful and a good time was had by us all. Will certainly visit again. Thank you..Lynda Green.

Our first, but won't be the last stay here!

This was our first stay at this hotel, but it certainly won't be the last! We were met with a lovely, bright lobby, and an equally lovely, bright, welcoming young man on Reception. Our room was modern, clean and spacious with a sofabed and the mini-fridge was very useful. We found the bed very comfortable. I suffer from lower back pain, especially upon waking, but I didn't experience any back pain at all in this bed. The hotel is perfectly situated for the Utilita Arena which was only a short 7-8 minute walk away, and this Novotel will now always be our 'go to' hotel for any events held there. There was a lot of outdoor noise coming from weekend party revellers, but that's to be expected, given the hotel's location. However, free, disposable foam earplugs were available from Reception if needed. There was an impressive selection of food choices for breakfast, and the food quality was excellent and so delicious! The restaurant staff were attentive and friendly. The car park under the hotel is quite small, so would recommend getting there early to ensure you get a space.

Far too noisy, rooms need updating

Wrongly presumed that a hotel on broad street would be soundproofed. The noise of cars, people and police sirens continued until 4am preventing me sleeping. This was with the windows shut. There was no ac which meant the room was uncomfortably warm with the windows closed. The room was tired and needs updating. Breakfast was good and staff were polite and helpful. I reserved a car parking space through a parking app. Only one space left when I arrived which someone else could have taken. Staff said that if all spaces were taken my only option would have been to complain on the parking app. The hotel shouldn’t advertise on the parking app unless parking is guaranteed.
