Uncleaned rooms - would NOT recommend

Room cleaning was substandard to the point of being unsafe: the floors were very obviously not vacuumed, with food from past guests still on the carpet. We found whole peanuts and nut crumbs on the floor where our infant with a severe peanut allergy could very easily find and eat them. There were loose metal staples littering the waist-height window sill, hair and hair elastics on the furnishings, and dust covering most of the room and furniture. However, the staff were able to move us to another room that was sufficiently cleaned, though still dusty. The room furnishings are also very out of date - in response to other reviews the hotel lists that they have "modern" electronics; however, that would have only been accurate about 20 years ago. Most of the plumbing, such as the bathroom sink, has severe rust and damage from long use. Almost all plastic in the room (phone, hair dryer, etc.) have long since yellowed from age. The phone line had so much static when calling the front desk that the manager repeatedly could not hear what was being said. The safes in both rooms did not work - the first was resolved by the desk staff coming to the room to manually reset it; but for the second safe we were told a technician would need to come the next day to fix it (no technician came and it was still not working by the end of our stay). The air conditioning, while "working," was so ineffective that after the first night we were forced to open the windows in order to cool the room. The temperature outside was only 10-14 degrees, but with the windows closed and AC on max the room was still uncomfortably hot. They have also changed the children's play area from what is pictured on their site. They have removed all games and toys from the room save for a foosball table and a single kids chair. The breakfast buffet had trouble with available plates/tableware at times, and finding a clean table was occasionally difficult - the tables were free, but the few staff available were not able to clean them between their other duties. We understand upcoming renos are planned, but that doesn't excuse the cleaning and service issues. After being told no one was available on weekends and promised the hotel manager would contact us first thing on Monday, they still have not responded to us. The safety, cleanliness and other concerns during our stay did not result in a pleasant experience at this hotel and cannot recommend to others.

I was on 2 day Business trip to Zurich and usually I prefer to stay here as it’s convenient both from Airport as well as my office at Oerlikon. I like this Hotel as the rooms are of good size, food is decent and good amenities. The rooms are very clean and well maintained.

worst Accor hotel

One of the worst Accor hotels I have ever stayed at. The problems started already at the reception, when upon check-in I was told that the amount was 20 Swiss francs more. When I showed the amount in the Accor app, they started giving me various reasons why the amount suddenly became higher. Of course, I paid the amount indicated in the booking, and not the one that the staff came up with. We booked a room for 4 people, but the room was only ready for three. When we went to the reception, they brought us pillows and a towel, but there was only one blanket! But we discovered this at night, and the children had already gone to bed. The room itself is terribly old and dirty! everything is broken. Yes, reviews of the hotel say that renovations are planned for 2024, but to attach the toilet paper you need one screw, and don't expect repairs, this is respect for visitors! Oh yes, about repairs! The outside of the hotel is covered with film and the hotel's air conditioning and ventilation system does not work properly, making the room feel like a sauna. very hot and impossible to breathe. Opening windows doesn't help. The next morning at the restaurant at breakfast a horror awaited us. The entire restaurant was filled with a huge group of tourists, all the food was a mess. There were glasses of juice, water and coffee everywhere, and peeled eggs and eggshells lay in public areas. The staff couldn't handle the crowd at all; It was impossible to sit normally at the table or get food, although the choice was varied. The only plus of this hotel is the varied warm breakfast. This is my first trip to Switzerland and it’s a shame that it started with this hotel and overshadowed my entire impression of this country.

It was worst service that I have ever experienced in Novotel . There no talking manners of one of your lady employee who is available in night at reception . And I am getting daily message that no water is available in hotel. I never heard this kind of message from any kind of hotels. Complained to manager but no response till left hotel. No taste in breakfast and from last 6 days it was same not single item was changed . I complained daily about water but instead of resolving it reception are asking to use tap water means even no fulfilments of complimentary . I will suggest never book this hotel
