Lovely hotel; great design, easy in and out great location, friendly staff - both reception checking in and out, breakfast staff and especially Farooq at the entrance. After 20 mins it felt like home.

A little less brilliant than usual

First of all, this remains my favourite place to stay in Berlin. Having written 2 months before arrival to ask for a room with a view of the zoo, I was shown to a room without one upon check-in and had to upgrade (+£200 per night) to get one. The pool was out of action for virtually all my stay (only pre-notified a few days before arrival) and the Casual dining experience should have been better. Also no new investment into room decor for quite while now. The location, bar, design led approach and staff make this hotel, but standards have slipped since being brought into the SO hotel fold. I still love, and will return to Das Stue in my next trip but will hope for better next time around.
