My wife and I have stayed at this Ibis Styles several times over the last couple of years, it’s an ideal location to break our journey from the north of Scotland to relatives in Essex. We’ve always been completely satisfied. Rooms are always spotless and well presented, staff very friendly, welcoming and attentive. A very well run budget hotel, pus some of the others to shame.

rooms clean, restaurant / front desk unable to cope with busy times, food very basic and not great value/service in restaurant.

Nice hotel but traffic noise

My wife and I felt it was a nice hotel with plenty of parking. The room was clean and had the facilities we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't like that the bathroom was a wet room, however it wasn't a big problem. The issue we had was the traffic noise as the hotel is closed to the M1. When we arrived in the room it was really hot. I found that the radiator was on full blast which I turned off. I then opened the window and was surprised by the traffic noise. At night the room was really hot as it had no air conditioning which meant we couldn't sleep, so I opened the window and couldn't sleep due to the traffic noise.

If you stay again and find yourself in the same situation if you ring reception, The receptionist will be more than happy to give you a sheet to use rather than a duvet.
