Thierry st can be grungy but you don't want the hotel to be! Had to be moved due to a hens night across hall and late night meetings other nights meant for fitful nights sleep. Not as friendly as most Melbourne laces
Dear JocelynV, Thank you for your review. I apologise for the noise issues caused by the function in the adjacent room. We recevied more than the anticipated number of guests. I apologise fo the inconvenience of having to move rooms on such short notice. Regards, Akshay Deosthali General Manager
Called reception a couple of time before arrival to confirm that Mercure would offer something for Gold members of their club and I got told that there was diferrence between members and no members at that hotel! What? This should be across all hotel of their portfolio! Dont recommend!
Dear guilhermecam, Thank you for your feedback. We do have a variety of benefits exclusive for our Le Club AccorHotels members. I apologise if our team was not able to provide the best service possible during your next stay and please do not hesitate to contact me directly on your next visit. A great find in Melbourne within the free travel zone, making getting around easy. Right next to the Queen Victoria markets and walking distance to Lygon St meant our dinning needs were meet. The room was modern, (best hotel shower), and the mini kitchen was a bonus. The complimentary WiFi (as an Accor Advantage member), was fast and reliable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will stay again when next in Melbourne.
Dear WARob, Thanks for your review. Our central location is definitely a plus for all our guests! I'll definitely pass on your kind words for our team. See you next time. Regards, Akshay Deosthali General Manager
The Mercure Therry St was a great location for a trip to the MCG. Great value, and a good bed and shower! Cheap parking around the corner but lift access back to the Mercure. Warning parking is very tight if you have a big AWD. Easy free tram to the shops and MCG and Vic markets and cafes across the road 100 mertres. No Foxtel a tad annoying!
Dear Peter N, Trust you had a great weekend at the footy! It was certainly an exciting game on the weekend you stayed. Look forward to seeing you through the footy season. Regards, Akshay Deosthali General Manager
Room was modernised and fairly comfortable. Traffic noise at night but great location near Queen Victoria market. Not the friendliest hotel for the Mercure brand but good value. No restaurant for dinner, just breakfast which was okay. Cooking facilities in the room which we found can create cooking smells permeating the room. Overall an economy stay with an economy feel.
Dear GinPhil, Thanks for taking the time to review the hotel. We do offer the kitchenettes in the rooms which are great after getting some fresh produce from the markets. Be sure to tell our team about any inconsistencies in the room so we can resolve it straight away. Regards, Akshay Deosthali General Manager
Stayed 3 nights at this hotel and enjoyed the location, cleanliness and room. Would recommend this hotel to others visiting Melbourne. Close to Melbourne markets and city center all within walking distance.
Dear Binnzi, Thanks for taking the time to provide a fantastic review. I truly appreciate you recommending our hotel to others and look forward to seeing you on your next visit. Regards, Akshay Deosthali General Manager
Had a number of appointments in the city, so needed somewhere reasonably central to stay. Selected Mercure due to price and location and was pleasantly surprised by the motel. It was a great choice and even had a lovely breakfast.
I am an ACCOR member and was looking forward to staying at this new Mercure. All went according to our travel plans, but the reception staff were rather disorganised... had an uptight NZ-sounding lady who said we didn't have a booking (!), then kept telling us to calm down (when we were actually more calm than her)!!! Gone were our offer or apology for unavailability of room upgrade , nor the customary welcome drink that comes with my level of membership :( However, the hotel was very comfortable and does meet the Mercure standard. Location at the top of Swanston St. was suitable for our needs.
Dear SuziM266, Thank you for your review. I will be sure to speak to my team members regarding the service you received. I would like to welcome you back in the near future and give us an opportunity to serve you better. Regards, Akshay Deosthali General Manager
The Mercure in Therry Street is ideal for a couple who wish to be close to the CBD and have the flexibilty of cooking local produce. With the Victoria Markets opposite the hotel you can buy all your fresh food and beverages and bring them back to the hotel. Rooms are not large but serve your purpose. Front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. We would go back!
Dear philh1811, Thanks for your great review and great to see you took advantage of our proximity to the Queen Vic Markets! Certainly look forward to seeing you back. Regards, Akshay Deosthali General Manager
