Mercure Inverness Hotel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Brilliant location."

28th February 2013, Amy C, Thurso, United Kingdom

I recently stayed at this hotel with my young family for 2 nights after getting what i thought was a good winter break deal online. The location of the hotel is fantastic and being in the middle of town you wont need the car much as everything is nearby. All of the staff we met were brilliant and were very friendly.Although the room was pretty outdated with a carpet that could do with a good wash, it was very big with lovely views, our daughter even had a small adjoining room of her own. The bathroom wasnt very clean with the worst shower in the world but we put up with it as we felt the other rooms were probably the same. The bed was a very comfy kingsize bed but i cant say the same for my daughters bed, she complained it was very hard and woke up both mornings with a sore back.We used the hotel swimming pool which was lovely, warm and clean, and the staff were very friendly.Breakfast was ok, not worth the money i paid for it but it filled our bellies. All in all i would say it was probably a very grand hotel in its hay day but its rather run down now and definately not worth the money i paid for it.

Mercure Inverness Hotel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Standard"

25th February 2013, graham1007, Leeds, United Kingdom

Great location in Inverness but the hoel is dated and really needs some money spending on it. Staff were friendly and courteous. The room was spacious but only had one tiny rediator which made it feel very cold. The suite I was in would benefit from being open plan as the 'living room' was not an inviting space to be in to relax.

Mercure Inverness Hotel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Basic hotel but may meet you needs"

20th February 2013, yhong, Edinburgh, United Kingdom

rooms are quite basci, but with super location. no benefit for platnium member of Le Club Accor except a pint drink voucher. No room upgrade, no late check out! Don't forget, there is a £2 charge for car parking.

Management responseDear GuestThank you for taking the time to review your stay at Mercure Inverness. I am sorry we were not able to offer you an upgraded room, due to high demand we were unfortunately fully booked on the night you stayed with us. I am dissapointed to hear that you were not offered a late check out, this is available to Le Club members and should have been offered to you. I will discuss this with our Front Office team to ensure it does not happen again. I hope we can welcome you back to Mercure Inverness in the future. Kind regardsFraser PeterkinGeneral Manager

Mercure Inverness Hotel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "mercure inverness"

14th September 2012, ropado, inverness

The hotel is very central with easy access from the Railway station. It has views over the river if you are lucky. If you are unfortunately in a room on Church Street, the city side, it will be very noisy as there are several nighclubs and bars, and the noise reverberates around the narrow lanes. There is no airconditioning but the windows can be opened for ventilaition. But with the noise outside the option to open the window is not practicable.

Mercure Inverness Hotel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "A night's stay"

12th August 2012, rndmartin, Edinburgh

Convenient for our use. restaurant menu limited in range but adequate for our purposes, comparable with many Ibis hotels. More than adequate breakfast facilities. Room on the small side if you wished to entertain. More milk and tea sachets would have been nice. Nice view of Ness.

Mercure Inverness Hotel: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Not the best"

19th June 2012, Richard_K_Bristol, Bristol

I was allocated a room facing the street leading from the station so I endured quirky noisy plumbing, local drunks shouting in the street below in the early hours and doors banging in the early morning as folk departed. The only redeeming factor was the breakfasts which were good. I may have been unlucky but my stay didn't reflect value for money.
