Having stayed here before I was not expecting a great deal. However this time I was given a room in the modern part of the hotel and it was a superb room with a balcony, much better than I anticipated. The old front of the hotel still provided a pleasant and large public area to drink or eat. Yet again I did not sample the restaurant because of my packed schedule so cannot comment on the quality, neither did I find time to visit the spa or pool but would be much more likely to re-book a visit. The situation of the hotel, though close to the city gives a truly countryside feel for somewhere close to Leeds to stay. The cost was slightly above my normal budget due to late booking but at its normal rates would be very reasonable.
We were pleased to receive an upgraded room on the house ! Enjoyed a relaxing stroll in Golden Acre park before a satisfying evening meal in the bar. Obliging staff and altogether a good experience. Will recommend.
Initially we were not pleased with the room but that was quickly remedied and alternative accommodation was found. All the staff extremely helpful and engaging; always willing to pass the time of day and that was really refreshing. A good gym and pool area. A good venue for a weekend break close to the countryside and only 5 miles from the city.

Good hotel with friendly staff. The Beautician Jan went out of her way for me to receive my complimentary treatment - I had not realised the need to book in advance _ Jan took my booking & brought in an extra staff member to give me my treatment - superb service! The negative side was unfortunately on the Saturday there was a wedding & what appeared to be a stag do staying. The bar was packed on Saturday teatime & there only appeared to be 1 member of staff manning the bar - we gave up in the end. Overnight the stag do returned & continued their party until 4am - outside our door - no member of staff intervened.
Dear Martin and Kath, Thank you for taking the time to make me aware of your experience whilst staying with us at the Mercure Leeds Parkway Hotel. I was pleased to hear that your experience was very positive in the leisure club and apologise for the behaviour of some members of the stag party. Please be assured that both our duty manager and our night manager did speak to the party on separate occasions as the duty manager was also resident in the hotel and eventually we did manage to ensure quiet after two visits to their room. I do hope that the behaviour of the stag party did not ruin your stay with us and I hope that we can welcome you back to the hotel for another visit when I am sure that your visit will be remembered for all the right reasons. Yours sincerely, Stewart Woodeson
Stayed here for two nights one night before our holiday and one night on our return. Our room was clean ,comfortable and warm with plenty of toiletries, tea coffee etc.Breakfast was lovely with a good choice and the hot choices were actually hot. We did have a problem with our room on the way back as we had booked an upgrade and were meant to have bathrobes , coffee machine etc. The room we were given was just a standard and we had difficulty getting the Manager to agree we were in the wrong room. We were told the room we had booked was not available and did eventually get the difference refunded after a bit of a battle. Such a shame as it spoiled another wise good experience.
Dear Powrie 55 Thank you for taking the time to make me aware of your experience whilst staying with us at the Mercure Leeds Parkway Hotel. I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all of our staff as we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services. I apologise for the mix up regarding your bedroom and have spoken to the manager concerned regarding how to handle this kind of situation. I hope that this did not upset your stay. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one. Yours sincerely, Stewart Woodeson
I have known and loved this hotel for over 20 years having worked there as a teenager and stayed there with my husband over the last 5 years. The staff are very welcoming and overall the rooms are clean and give you everything you need. My only criticism is that quite a lot of the rooms, at least all of the ones we've stayed in, and corridors look tired. (Probably because they haven't been done for at least 10 years!) Regardless, we're always looked after, the breakfast is great and if you ask for a Studio room then I think you're getting an enjoyable stay for your money.

This hotel was good value for what you pay, breakfast was nice, beds comfy, however the cleanliness could do with improving , ie corners glazing etc. the view from the room was lovely. The pool area and sauna was a nice bonus. Would stay here again

Reservation - quiet room, mentioned at check in, confirmed by reception staff - room noisy so had to relocate Asked reception about kids times- told no children staying - no problem - loads of kids - no set times room service - forgot drink, got drink after meal Steam room not working Hard pillows - no options (unlike travel lodge/premier inn) Clearly holiday standards less than business standards - wont use Mercure again unless other hotels fully booked

This hotel is well positioned on the northern side of Leeds, convenient for the centre of town (public transport, 'park and ride' or your own car), and also with easy access to Harrogate, the dales and not too far from York. The excellent reception staff give an early clue to the quality of service provided. The management is obviously top rate, and the various teams run their areas efficiently. The restaurant is outstanding in the quality and variety of food as well as service. We enjoyed dinner there on each of the three nights of our stay. The hotel obviously attracts conferences, meetings, etc., but we were not affected adversely at any time. Our privilege room was quiet with a beautiful view over parkland and well-serviced by the maids. The large bar was often busy with groups of conference goers, but these were always pleasantly sociable. An hotel we shall return to happily.
