This hotel is in a perfect location for Paddington Station where you can catch a train direct to Heathrow. Especially convenient when you arrive from overseas. It's clean and the staff friendly & helpful. Garfunkles restaurant has reasonably priced food.
Usually rate ACCOR hotels as being good but this one disappointed. Unhelpful staff. Very poor bar which closes at 10.30 and average restaurant. Nice location and rooms well appointed Will not stay again.

Needed to be very close to Paddington for a red eye flight. No need for additional services. Chose Mercure mainly on cost and proximity to station the Novato is that bit further away and the Hilton while equally close is a bit costlier. Mercure worked well. Attentive staff decent bed. I had an interior room with a light box to compensate for no windows. . Quite innovative. Well done

The hotel upgraded us on arrival, to a nice room with complimentary wine etc. The hotel was having some work done, but this didn't bother us and we ate in their restaurant which was in another hotel 200 yards away! Being a silver accord card holder means I get a free welcome drink, and it was nice to have this at the restaurant. All in all a pleasant stay before we went to Heathrow for a trip to Miami!

Convenient location but classifying Room 505 as Executive Double (worst room in hotel) is a punishment to guests. We were put in this room in spite of our request not to give us room 505. Reception and bell staff is very courteous and efficient.
Dear Arvindj814, Thank you for your comments and we sorry that your request was not fulfilled on this occasion. Being on the 5th floor, the bedroom does have a sloped ceiling but it certainly the way you describe it. As explained by the hotel duty manager, unlike modern hotels that are built with each room category identical in every single way (shape and size), the building dates back to the mid 19th century and therefore all rooms come in a various quirky shapes and sizes. That is the joy of a hotel of this age as we believe it brings more character to the hotel than what more modern hotels can offer. We understand that guests do have preferences and while several returning clients do specifically ask for our 5th floor bedrooms, we have now made on a note in our system for you not to be allocated on that floor.
