Stayed with my wife for one week, check-in was good with very friendly staff. Asked for a room to the back of the hotel to have less noise, we have got the last room of the corridor. Room was clean as also bed sheets and shower towels, which is a characteristic from the Ibis brand; clean and presentable room. Hotel breakfast with a good selection: 3 types of cereal, yougurt, 5 types of bread, cheese, ham, fruits, cofee, hot chocolate and 2 types of juice. But I think the fair price for the hotel breakfast should be 6 euros (instead of 7.5 euros). Hotel facilities were good, the room was new and furniture was ok. The mattress was a bit too soft, it should be an semi-orthopedic one; not too soft and not too hard. One cons was the size of the room at Ibis Ruisbroek, I found it smaller than the other Ibis Budget brands that I have stayed at (Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Barueri, Lisboa, Amsterdam). Ruisbroek train station is within 5 min. walking distance, from there you get the train to almost anywhere. There is also bus service to Brussel-Zuid. Even adding the transport fare into account, you will spend less at Ibis Ruisbroek for sure. Nearby facilities: there is a gas station (good breakfast for 4 euros) and a carrefour express (small grocery store, breakfast for 3 euros) one block away from the hotel that can provide some good refreshments. On Ruisbroek square there is an Italian restaurant which has a good pizza and pasta, there is a wednesday and thursday sale with any pizza for 5 euros, don't miss it! It's a very calm neighbourhood at Ruisbroek where shops close early and life follows the local schedule. We enjoyed a lot our stay at Ibis Ruisbroek. Highly recommended, will surelly come back when returning to Brussels.
Good hotel near train station with regular trains to Brussels. However the car parking charges are not displayed on the website (why not ?!!) and you only discover it is paid parking on arrival at the hotel. The staff pointed out that if you pointed your mouse at the 'P' parking icon on the website it does pop up as 'chargeable', so I expect they get this comment frequently. If you are staying for more than one night the parking is really inconvenient as you have to go to reception and pay every time you want to take your car out. The clock then starts again when you return and is charged in 12 hours blocks, which can make it expensive if staying for a few days. Would be better if the parking charge was for the whole duration of your stay.
We were very impressed with the hotel, the staff, but disappointed about having to pay for car parking. We also found that the details about the distance in to Brussells was misleading on line when we were making all four of our hotel bookings on this currentbreak as we paid 30 euros each way for a half an hour taxi run where we were expecting to be about 15 mins. We had to make this journey as we had made plans to meet friends there from the south of Belgium. We would certainly not have made this trip had it not been for that reason even though Brussels was a fantastic place it was an expensive journey. We actually sat outside the Novhotel and had glass of wine together and discussed the benefit of being in the centre even though prices are more expensive you have no transport costs which when you away you have to make these journeys.
Dear Elaine, many thanks for your comments, you have different options to reach the city center, the taxicab is not the cheapest one but by train it takes 11 minutes and costs a few euros. My best regards.
First of all, the address given on the site is totally incorrect. When we got there, we stopped in front of a vegetable store whose owner started laughing at me for being 7,5 km away from the real address. We went to an Ibis Hotel and we got the right address and all the necessary information for our hotel's location: Ruisbroek, village Sint...You have to call before to get all this info. Hotel is nice. The stuff very nice. Parking:8 euros a day. Bus 50 which takes you to the central station where you can take metro no 6 to reach Atomium. From Atomium No 6 back for The European Parliament (Throne station) and then on foot you can go to the old center in 20 min. In Atomium we can only see pictures about its construction and some lights...very expensive and not worth it. The rest is free
Dear 90traveller, rest assured that the adress indicated on our site is correct, we often check the other sites than Accor or ibis budget but it seems that one of those is providing a wrong information. Regards.
Hotel was clean Staff were really helpful even when stressed out with demands Parking was 8 euro for 24 hours maybe a little excessive as i wasn't expecting that. Cost was reasonable as there was 3 of us. Thank you
The service was good, but one of the receptionist wasn't so polite. Regard the cleanliness, the bedroom had bunch of hair on the floor and on the bed. It seemed they didn't clean the room between guest changes. I asked about that and the employee confirmed they had cleaned the room and changed the sheet. It was a lazy service then. I didn't ask to clean again the room because it was late and my son needed to sleep.
A group of us arrived at the hotel. One of us challenged the receptionist when he copied his passport, in another room, without asking permission or any explanation. He said it was company policy. We said that it hadn't happened in the central Brussels Ibis we had stayed in a few days previously. He then said it was a national policy and insisted that anyone staying in a Belgian hotel has to have their passport copied, that if we refused he would refuse us a room. (We know that it is not a national policy as we have Belgian relatives.) We offered to give the numbers as other places do but that was not enough. Many of us are aware of Data Protection laws and I asked if we could have the copies back in the morning. This was also refused. I think that your staff need to be both aware of the relevant laws, of company policy and being consistent in their approach.
I stayed in a triple with two friends. It was clean and nice, but far from the city centre and sights - reasonable with a car, but really difficult if trying to travel via public transportation. Otherwise, nice place, clean, and very good for the price.
Dear Kira, many thanks for your comments, to reach the city center, you should choose for the train, the station is located at 600m from the hotel and twice an hour you have direct connections to Brussels Central Station (duration of the trip 12 minuites). See you next time!
Nice clean hotel, situated in a quiet area of Brussels.Staff very helpful. Could be easier to find if the sign post was on the main road, rather than the road the hotel is on.One problem, no tea or coffee making facilities in room
Dear Iain, I want to thank you for your comments after your stay: clean, cheap & friendly...all what we propose evey day. Regarding the signs, we put what we are allowed to, you're wright, in some countries more signs are allowed. My best regards.
