Pullman Shanghai Skyway: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Very good quality versus price"

We spent 4 nights with my wife and 3 children (teenagers) and were upgraded to 2 suites. The services are very good . The hotel is located close to the subway and close to a nice fashioned part of the district "french concession". The french service + swimming pool is good point in such city center area.

Accommodation is very good, food quality is not up to standard, café prices too high. Location is very good and service is good. I would recommend the hotel overall but suggest you organise breakfast and dining elsewhere

Service was superb throughout the stay. Rooms were serviced a few times each day. The staff at the bar on Level 50 has beuatiful views of the river. If you have access to the executive lounge you are in for a treat!

I expected more, the location is very good but the bar and the restaurant is very bad. Is a ancient hotel, for the price i expect more good treatment for the staff, i don´t like the room service too.Regards

A good hotel with no real complaints. The location is on the south side of the city with good access to shopping and restaurants. Not quite in the centre but still a fair amount of action close by. We stayed on an executive floor with access to lounge and breakfast was great there and staff were most helpful. A short stay but a very nice stay and I would stay there again if I visit Shanghai. The room was upgraded to a corner suite and the views were to the south and as it turned out I had very clear days and the views were a picture.

Extremely convenient location, excellent service from all hotel staffs, although language may be an issue for non chinese speaking guests, however, the receptionists and service counters staffs are all able to communicate in English. And for those who couldn't speak english, you can see their efforts to try and give you the best service they could. Very friendly, always smiling. Breakfast was horrid though, but their restaurants and room service serve good food.

Everything was OK and perfect, except front desk and some other things.I could not find any hospitality in Front Desk. maybe wrong timing?Nobody help me to catch a taxi outside. Even the man in front of hotel was rude.Many guys asked me to call a girl and massage next to hotel door.It made me embarrassed.I am not sure I stay there again.

I am very satisfied with the service. 2 out of 8 rooms that we booked were upgrade to junior suite rooms. The rooms are spacious and clean. We love to stay at this hotel. The only thing that has to be improved is the breakfast, not many choice. But overall this hotel is excellent. Keep it on

Very good hotel for Shanghai. Book with access to club lounge. Service there is great and the view over the river till the Expo center is great. Best value for price in Shanghai! Also staff is very helpful. When I asked for later check-out, because my flight was at midnight, it wasn't a problem and I could stay in club lounge till 10 pm and haven't had to stay at loud airport. So: absolutely to recommend!

Pullman Shanghai Skyway: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Clean but Not 5 Star"

The Hotel was clean and the staff friendly and approachable. Unfortunately very few spoke anything but Mandarin. English was restricted even at the concierge desk.The room was clean but the bed harder than I expect from a Western Chain. It was more in keeping with the hard Chinese beds found in domestic Chinese hotels. Minibar - limited and expensive as was the Laundry. TV was mainly chinese with a few English channels, a French and German station. I did not find any Pay movie options at all..... internet is cable only in the rooms. Wifi in Club rooms.Restaurants and Bars were expensive even by European standards and the staff did not know their trade. One waiter told us they did not sell "Scotch" and after quizzing about what was available went on to mention Chivas Regal, Johnny Walker etc.... these are apparently Whiskey, NOT Scotch......We chose this hotel because it had a Pool. But it was open to the public (for a fee???) and at 28deg (a sign told us that) and very crowded, it was not a comfortable place to be.Breakfast was on the 49th Floor in Zaafrans restaurant, or in the Executive Club - 52nd floor. We tried the restaurant on the first morning, but it was very crowded and noisy and the options for westerners were limited. Bacon was awful. On the remaining 6 mornings, we ate in the Executive Club. Much more comfortable, less crowded with quite limited options, but for westerners, the choice was a good as in the main restaurant. Coffee was good.All in all, I think this hotel should not be marketed as a 5 star property. It was good, but not good enough I am afraid.

Pullman Shanghai Skyway: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Beds are hard and rooms are in desperate need of a refit."

The photo of the room we booked did not match the room even though the room photos changed for each room. We upgraded at our cost because the room they gave us was not the room we booked and it cost us considerably more. The rooms are tired looking and in need of refurbing. The beds are hard. We were told they were similar to Sofitel. No way are they even close! The staff are lovely and helpful. The executive lounge was great on the top floor. It was our first trip to Shanghai and the Hotel was bait of a let down.
