"A bit hit and miss."

We stayed in a Skyway club deluxe room for three nights. I had been promised an upgrade to an executive room, but as the only one they offered was on a very low, smoking floor, we declined the offer. We were shown two other room types. One had an open bathroom,as mentioned in previous reviews. The one we chose had a bath right next to a full length window. It was lovely to sit in the tub and take in the spectacular views of the Shanghai skyline, after a hard day's touring.The club lounge was really nothing to rave about. There was very little in the way of service from the women on the desk. The sandwiches which were put out for afternoon tea, often stayed there for evening canapes. By five o'clock they weren't particularly fresh. There was a good selection of alcoholic beverages, although on the night we arrived they had "run out" of wine. It was only after one of the customers got a bit stroppy, that a new supply magically appeared. The views from the club lounge on the 41st floor and the restaurant on the 50th floor are stunning, if you luck on a clear day. It is walking distance to the French Concession.The question I always ask myself when asked to recommend a hotel to someone is: Would I stay here again? My answer in this case is: probably not. (Unless you can get a great deal on their website) I'd try somewhere different next time.

"Clean and tidy, but a bit expensive"

Hotel is nearby metro exit, but not walking distance to sightseeing spots. Anyway, easy to catch Taxi outside the hotel. Swimming pool facility is good. Clean room, normal service. A bit pricy, will stay only on sale.

"Nice location, average service"

Have stayed at this hotel also before (2 years ago) and quite clear that not much done with the hotel in this time. Starts to look quite "wearn out" in certain places. Other issues is the breakfast, last time I found this very good, now it was average minus. to wait 20 minutes for an omelett, cheese adn cold cuts emthy all the time. Stayed for 4 nights and it was the same all days. In other words average, but this seems to be what you can expect in big citys like Shanghai in these days.

"staffs could have smiled more often"

first time i stayed at pullman, impressed by the hotel design.the only thing i found lacking was SMILE. many of the staff (esp the male staffs) dun seem to know how to smile.overall, the hotel is definitely above average.

"A Very Good Hotel with a few teathing problems"

Overall, very good. However I believed that I had paid in advance only to be told that the hotel had not received the payment which caused a certain amout of annoyance. We also had booked onto the Executive floor but the enhancements, especially the free cocktails which consisted of a few help yourself bottles, were a disappointment. The bedroom was excellent.

"The View Is Amazing from the Hotel"

The Hotel is Splendid....Value for moeny at its best,Affordable and absolutely worth every pie...Go For It without even thinking.The Staff are very friendly and understand english and help you with info about Shanghai...the View from the top floors 50th onwards are js breathtaking.....Way to Go...Loved every Bit of the Experience.

"Good place to stay."

We stayed one night only at the Pullman Shanghai Skyway on our way to Auckland. The hotel is of high standard, staff was helpful, check-in and check-out was quick and efficient. Our room on 41st floor was well maintained and tidy with great view over the river. The nearest Metro station is only 5 minutes of walking distance from the hotel. The only negative thing I reported to their Management was unacceptable or ridicules high price level for the internet connection at their Business Centre. I had to pay NZD10.00 for 10 minutes (!!). My recommendation to everyone would be to check the rate first before start using the internet. Otherwise the hotel is great place to stay for any stopover or travel/business plans. On positive side their GM responded back to me very promptly re internet complaint which is also a good sign of proper management in place. Valeriy

"Pullman Hotel, Shanghai"

The hotel is clean, nice, new rooms. The bathroom was strange, as many in China are. It was an open wall with an optional curtain. Although the hotel was not in the centre of the action, it was very close to a subway, and close to a shopping mall or two. There were quite a few restaurants in the area. The room had a good view of the Pudong skyline. The bed, although still hard by Western standards, was much softer than the usual Chinese bed. The only complaint I have, which is not an unusual complaint for high-end hotels, was that they charge for Internet, there wasn't even free wifi in the lobby. Fortunately, there is a McDonalds across the street for some free wifi.

"Access to internet"

the internet access should be absorbed in the room rates and not necessarily to charge separately, although it is capped at about 16US dollars per day. I believe if the hotel group promote by means of FREE INTERENT ACCESS, it will attract more guest as I can calculate, say RMB50 per room per night, 50RMB=9 dollars. The room rates is already about $170 per day, even less 9 dollars, it seems to be 5.29 per cent less in incomes, but it may bring the occupancy rates up another 10%.

Good level of service. For an 8 days journey, I have been upgraded without any request.A little bit far from usual Shanghai centers of interest.Crowd very helpful, room clean.Internet could be free in all rooms for a such a level hotel

Staff are good & excellent services. Room are very nice, bed are good, nice view of the city, LCD TV & ipod dock with speakers & alarm. Location not bad & with MRT nearby. Surround with some malls & restaurant too. Western food are nice but not the chinese food section.

This hotel is excellent value for money. Very new. Very large guest room, well designed. Convenient location although not the best in Shanghai. Excellent staff at reception desk. The breakfast is not so great. waiters and waitresses are not up to 5 star standard. The greatest impression is its geast room and facilities inside the room. It's better than most more expensive 5 star hotels I have stayed in Shanghai.

Very clean and confortable hotel in Shanghai. The executive section offers a very good service, breakfast buffet was of very good quality. We found the price very reasonnable for such a standard. I would recommend it to anybody having to say in Shanghai for business or with family.

Hotel located in a very strategic place where accessability to food and commuters are very convinient. However, poor front desk services, particularly, slow check-in and check-out process stresses all the queing guests. In addition, lack of variety in food choices for breakfast make it worse for business stay guests to kick start their day.

"Hotel was nice."

The hotel itself was nice but employees English is not very good and the doorman's service was really poor. He didn't pull our luggages so we have move our luggages by ourselves.

"A bit disappointed on my second stay in Pullman"

I have stayed in Pullman for 30 days last year and then became the golden member of A-club. As being loyal, I chose Pullman again for my second stays of 19 days and expected more as a VIP (I hope). But in fact, I was a bit disappointed during my stay with following 2 issues: there was a big group of students staying in hotel and occupied quite a large space of restaurant for breakfast. I went to the restaurant at 8:15AM and no available space to eat, plus I had appointments at 8:30AM, that left me no choice but to skip my breakfast. I am talking about at least 5 or 6 times like that, not just one odd instance. My second issue is that, I was expecting a welcome gift or drink as a privilege of golden member, but there was none (I assumed it would be there but I might be too shy to ask for it, *_*). I believed it's related to hotel's management issue. So overall, I would still go Pullman, but I would expect them to fix the issue correctly and take care of every single detail as they should do.Harry Liang
