Pullman Shanghai Skyway: 4.0 out of 5 stars "My stay at the Pullman"

28th January 2013, mirussell, London, United Kingdom

Stayed at the hotel in January, room nice and large, bathroom good but could do with a better shower head and power, furniture and fittings were a bit tired but bed was superb. Breakfast was very good and staff extremely helpful. Reception staff very helpful. I arrived earlier than expected and needed to shower before a meeting and the room was not ready. Receptionist wsa not phased and suggested I use the Spa for a shower/shave and organised it. Gym equipment needs updating but ok. Overall a good stay

Pullman Shanghai Skyway: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Good location, but no service at all"

14th January 2013, L8MKM, LONDON

Stayed at this hotel because our usual place was fully booked. The first impression was this hotel had its glory maybe a decade ago. Very large lobby, bellmen were unfriendly. When I walk down to the street and find out it's a rainy day,I ask the staff for an umbrella and refused unless I placed 50 yuans deposit for it or I have to walk all the way back to my room to get one from my room! What a service? Then I hand out my creditcard for the deposit but they said they cannot take just 50 yuans through it ! They can only accept cash. After all the haggle, they finally borrow the umbrella without any deposit. That's very uneasy, thanks Gods!

Pullman Shanghai Skyway: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Bathroom problem."

2nd January 2013, keyence, Hong Kong, China

My name is Cheung Sheung Tak from Hong Kong , I were 1st year to join your Accor Advantage Plus member and choose your hotel group service. I were live in your group - Pullman Shanghai skyway hotel during 22nd -25th Dec, 2012. My wife and me are very enjoy your hotel service, location, room facilities, but We are a bit disappointed for my Room(3320) bathroom, We found out so many Fly (alive and dead body) around in toilet, bath pool every night, Please see the attachment picture. Actually We clear up 3pcs dead fly body on side of bath pool already, but seems the they appear on next day. that’s why we can’t enjoy the nice bath pool during the trip. Seems the bathroom are no active window, I don’t know how can the Fly will appear in room?? Please focus on this problem. Thanks !!

Pullman Shanghai Skyway: 4.0 out of 5 stars "INTERNET IN THE ROOMS"

17th December 2012, BOLKAR1980, Istanbul, Turkey

the hotel location is good. but the internet access in the rooms should be free of charge. the rooms are clean and tidy. the hotel personel are helpful and smiling. the breakfast fee is expensive. the breakfast should have more items from world kitchens like more cheese varieties and also more olive varieties.

Pullman Shanghai Skyway: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Solo in Shanghai"

10th December 2012, tramblyfarm, Sydney, Australia

Firstly as a Accor advantage plus member and having requested a non smoking floor i found that the floor and the room reaked of cigarette smoke however the overall room was clean and neat. I found that the hotel was tiered and not overly clean the 49 floor breakfast area was the worst of all. The overall western breakfast was discusting the food was so bad you could not eat it and there was very little choice, don't worry about the breakfast and room package not worth the extra money unless you are Asian.I have stayed in many Pullman hotels around the world and this is by far the worst ,maybe Pullman Shanghai should take a look at their sister Hotel PULLMAN KING POWER Bangkok for ideas of quality food, service, and overall cleanlieness a great hotel.

Pullman Shanghai Skyway: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good hotel with a few quirks"

15th November 2012, Desktop2000, Melbourne, Australia

The hotel and rooms are nice enough for the Pullman brand, however there are a few things that I would put down as quirks of China.1. Platinum member check-in doesn't exist. Was told to line up in the regular line because they only provide service through the platinum members' desk if they are not busy. Interesting to know!2. Non smoking is not non smoking. Apparently it's more of a suggestion, and if say, you and your buddies want to chain smoke in your room with the door open to the corridor on a non smoking floor, then by all means you can do so. My neighbours in room 1804 did this particularly well.3. Very hard to get a drink at the Executive lounge. Although I did not take to complaining in an over the top manner like a certain English guest. Oh and getting a seat is a little difficult too at breakfast. 4. No wifi in room, even at executive level. Really? A router on two floors surely isn't that difficult?I will say that I did get an upgrade to executive level room (due to membership benefits) and the room was great. Spacious, great view, comfortable bed. Really nice.

Pullman Shanghai Skyway: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Perfect in everything but the restaurant"

21st October 2012, siyo, stockton-on-tees

This hotel is really top quality and good value for money (compared to prices of other hotels of a similar standard in Shanghai and China). It has a real presence on the skyline because it's a great big silver high rise in a very elegant shape. The bell boys/concierges in particular should get a really good rating, they are always helpful in giving the taxi driver your destination in Chinese, because very few of the taxi drivers speak english. They are also very helpful in offering to take your baggage to the room, buying train tickets, directing you to shops etc. We stayed in a Deluxe King Size room which was very spacious, the bed was really comfy and at last a hotel that isn't stingy with bathroom consumables. We had everything, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving kit, sewing kit, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and all sorts. The bathroom was really spacious too with a well laid out wet room shower. It's also useful having a custom made shirt shop, cash machine and tea/coffee shop inside the hotel because stepping out late at night I was immediately apprehended by a local who said "you looking for a girl". The only thing that was rather lacking was a drinks machine or a place to buy soft drinks to take back to your room, because they were a bit more stingy with the water bottles (only two and they were for brushing your teeth, never use the tap water for this). Though realistically you could have ordered room service or gone to the bar. Now for the disappointing part. The Breakfast room is on the 49th floor. Service is not that good for such a quality of hotel. The staff seem to wander around aimlessly and without organisation. They often miss setting out your table settings correctly, missing your cup and saucer, getting your knife and fork the wrong way round, taking away your cutlery before you have finished and all sorts of mishaps. They also struggle to understand english, even simple words like "tea", even wording it in Chinese and saying "cha", they seemed to struggle to understand. The hot food is served in a buffet and has often cooled down by the time you get it back to your seat. Dinner is also served on this floor and is a bit better service wise. They offer a buffet which is not recommended because again it's only warm by the time you get back to your table. They also offer a la carte which is much better but still lacking in service. They do have restaurants with other cuisines on other floors too.
