ibis Hua Hin: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Fantastic Stay!"

25th September 2013, jbconlon, Burlington, North Carolina, USA

My boyfriend and I stayed at the ibis Hua Hin for 5 nights, and it was a great starting point to our trip. Despite not being in the middle of the city center, it is actually a great location! The road directly beside the hotel leads down to the beach. Once you reach the beach: to the right is the calm, clean waters of Khao Takiab and Monkey Mountain a leisurely walk away; to the left is the busier beach of Hua Hin, with horses, jet skis, kite surfing, and restaurants. Several other great features are just a short walk away: Cicada Market on the weekends, a fantastic Noodle shop on the other side of the road from ibis (directly across from the Tesco Express--just look for the sign that says "Noodle"), and an awesome bar called The Family Bar a little down from Cicada on the other side (just listen for the Bob Marley playing & look for the red/yellow/green colors of the Marley-themed bar--the owner, Sood Sood, is an amazing host!)The hotel itself was very nice--the staff spoke good enough English to get by; our rooms were cleaned daily; the tapas-style restaurant and bar were very good (you must try the Phad Kapraow and a Mojito); the beds were very comfortable unlike many of the hard beds in Thailand; and they provide a shuttle service which we used many times to go to Market Village and the Night Market. Only two things were a little annoying--the shower head points away, so you must hold it to use it, rather than being able to point it at yourself. Also, we were a little taken aback when we were asked to pay 500 baht extra per day as a security deposit. I really wish this would have been mentioned earlier. But, we got it all back when we checked out, so it was no big deal--just be prepared financially to have them hold that amount. We also later realized that many of the guesthouses nearby were much more affordable if you don't mind sacrificing a little in aesthetics or mind a little mold or a spiderweb or two in the bathroom. (Aussie Bar Beer O'Clock down the street in Takiab for 600 a night was just great for us!)All in all, I would definitely recommend ibis Hua Hin as long as the price is right for you. We didn't mind being away from the city center because it is so easily accessible via the free shuttle or the 10baht green trucks that run every day until about 9pm.

ibis Hua Hin: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Really service mind"

13th September 2013, Sak1004, Bangkok, Thailand

The staff at the counter had given us a very good impression on her service. I was asking to change the room due to lack of wifi signal, she eagerly came right up to my first check-in room and led me to survey the other rooms for better signal. She happily served with smile all the time. Thanks for her smiling face and good service. I certainly will return to ibis Hua Hin again for sure.

ibis Hua Hin: 3.0 out of 5 stars "BAD EXPERIENCE"

11th September 2013, ds_spark, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

I have booked 3 rooms on line AT THE SAME TIME, 2 double room and one room with children. I have stayed in this ibis once and I know there is no where near this hotel to have breakfast . I therefore have booked all rooms with breakfast and pay for it ,on line, with my credit card. When I arrived and check in the Hotel. The total price they want me to pay is difference from the quoted price for the three nights ,for more of course. I gave the confirm number to the lady and ask her to check and confirm. Instead for her to check it out ,she ask me to show her the confirmation E-mail. I told her I am having a vacation with my family and have not draging my desk top computer with me. She call out her manager and still insist to have me show her the reply e-mail. I told the manager to check with my confirmation with her hotel system, it is that easy. At that time ,my family and me, total seven people with children, have arrived the hotel three hours without checking in. Eventually, the manager told me that he will do me a flavor and accept my words. I was really mad and told him that I do not want a flavor ,just check with the confirmation number. Then we successfully checked in.IS THE STORY FINISHED ? NOT YET !The next morning, I was wake up by my brother and tole me that they were asked to signed the bill before they can have breakfast. I went down and told the lady that I have paid all the breakfast when I pay the room on line. The front desk lady come again and told me I have paid the three person room but have not pay the two double rooms. After a heated argument, an male staff holding a pile of paper come out from the room behind and told me the I have paid the 3 person room and only one double room. I told him I booked the God Dame three rooms together within 3 minutes and asked him to check with my confirmation again. After about 10 minutes ,another lady come out from the back and told me, this time, I have paid the one 3 person room but not the two double rooms. But she said, again, she will do me a flavor and not paying that day's breakfast but have to pay the rest of the days. I was sick and tire of this flavor and PAID.I WOULD LIKE THE IBIS MANAGEMENT EXPLAIN TO ME THAT WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR '"confirmation number" SYSTEM. IS YOUR SYSTEM CANNOT SHOW THE REQUIRED BOOKING INFORMATION TO YOUR STAFF TO LOOK AFTER YOUR CUSTOMERS ? OR ,IS YOUR STAFF HAD NOT BEEN TRAINED UP PROPERLY TO HANDLE THE INFORMATIONS WITHIN YOUR OWN COMPUTER SYSTEM.
