"Pullman Beijing for business travel: that's the hotel!"

By indication of our company colleagues, we 1st stayed last November 2011 and repeated stay this year once more.Although is little far from downtown area (~1.5h by subway) it's the best place to whom will work in Development District (Nokia and many other companies).For a little more you can upgrade to executive rooms and enjoy some good benefits, besides breakfast in executive lounge, nice room, laundry services, etc.Stanley is the excellent manager to take care of foreigners. Ask him and he will help you a lot!! Have a nice business stay in Beijing ;-)

"SHOULD have aircon even in Spring"

It was terrible! I had to move the bed repeatedly to get some air from the air blower. I would not call it the aircon cause it only blow out air that was NOT cooled. It was a very unpleasant stay for myself and my entire team of global managers who had the same issue. It is rediculous to say that the aircon is not on during spring or until 1 May. Then we should get a discount. We cannot even open the windows because of the pollution. I will seriously consider never staying there again.View management response »

"How on earth do I get there"

1. Directions in Chinese to print out are missing on the hotel's website: The taxi drivers in Beijing are not familiar with Hotels's location. You get the impression they all come from Mongolia.2. The Excecutive Lounge is closed - without any notification on the website, but the guest shall pay for the Excecutive room.3. Finger prints on the wall trim, witnessmark of a greasy forehead on the window panes, mould in the bath room, chipped furniture, carpet stained4. No free Wi-Fi 5. Breakfast was luke warm, at best - and I was there 5 Minutes after opening6. Fried eggs decorated with a long black hair7. Waitress counts coffee spoons and touches the to be used side of each spoon with her bare fingers.8. Restaurant staff does not speak any EnglishView management response »

I have looked into your stay record and I would like to answer to your comments. 1 Beijing is a big city and the capital of China, we cannot guarantee that every taxi driver to know the hotel location , however we are in the mid of enhancing the publicity of Pullman Beijing South. 2 The Excecutive Lounge is back to operation and it's now open from 7:00am to 11:00pm everyday. 3 We are continously training our room attendants to clean every guest room to the highest standard and we can ensure that you will notice the difference during your next stay with us.4 We have free wifi in the lobby and Executive lounge, also free internet in the room.5 Thank you for your comments breakfast and obviously we have made many more changes to serve our guests better. 6 The issues on the fried egg and waitress attitude we have highlighted the matter to our Director of Food & Beverage where necessary action has been taken. Once again, thank you for your valuable comments and regret for the unpleasant experience . We hope we can serve you better in near future.
"Poor sleep quality...central a/c shut down every night"

Both nights I was woken up at approximately 3am sweating under the sheets because the central a/c would shut down each night automatically at about 2am. Staff tried to say it was due to Chinese government regulations, but no other hotel we stayed at in China had the problem. We would not stay at this hotel again. We have experience quite a few issues with our harware and also the area legislation that have had direct consequences on our Guests sleep. I am terrible sorry that you stay was not an enjoyable experience, we are working very hard to get those matters solved by next summer. Also, being aware that it is our responsiblity to protect our guest's sleep, we made sure that our guests were compensated. We did refund stays/nights when necessary and also offered other compensation options. If that has not been the case for you, please contact me directly and we will work something. If you have been compensated, and I know that it does not entirely make it up for the lack of sleep, it would however be very kind of you to mention it when you share your concens with other guests, as a token of appreciation for our intention to make things right. "Had to use it for business but very poor hotel - air conditioning useless - tourists beware of location."

I have to use this hotel for business for its location. It is an hour by taxi to the centre of town. Dont go here if you are a tourist!! Rooms ok I use the executive rooms and suites. Not enough water in the rooms. Everything else is usual fair. The main problem is the air conditioning. You cannot get this to a comfortable level. It was 40C outside and felt like 40 inside. I continuilly ask them to look at it and it is the same all over the hotel. They just dont turn the main coolent down, probably to save money to the detriment of customers. So you dont sleep as you slowly roast during the night. Food. The tapinyaki is ok but very expensive. The chinese is ok. The italian is closed and so is the to bar. The other bar is dead and is supposed to have entertainment but never does. it is dark and gloomy and really horrible. The buffet is DULL and never seems to change day in day out.No one speaks english so getting anything is tricky. Again if you are a tourist DO NOT GO here. go into town. If you need to go for business this is the only half decent hotel in the area. Its not bad but definitely not good.View management response »

We do strive to improve our general level of service and your feedback is a very important matter to us. Firstly, you are right about our location, we are operating in a business area since we are selling rooms for business travellers, therefore our products is not designed for tourists. There are other ACCOR sister hotels in town which are more convinient for leisure purposes. As for the air-conditioning, I am well aware that we have had some issues over the summer and I am sorry that your sleep was troubled. However, this was due to a hardware issue that could not be fixed by our engineering team, but I can assure you that we did not decide to same money to the detriment of customers. Regarding the food and the service in our Buffet restaurant, you pointed out a lack of variety and issues to communicate with our staff. I would like to let you know that we are currently thinking about a new set of dishes for the buffet, and on the other hand training our staff to improve their english skills. However we do have a few members of the staff who speak very good english, please feel free to ask for a manager to look after you next time you visit us. Once again, thank you for you time.
