Really nice place for a business trip. Price is good / Hotel not far from the center. Fitness room with 2 bikes on the last floor.

This was a nice hotel close to the lake and within easy walking distance of the central part of town. No frills like a view from the window, but certainly an OK place to sleep. When you are in such a beautiful town, who wants to spend time in a hotel room anyway?

We were a bit worried when the registration form for this hotel suggested that kids were not welcome, but this turned out to be no problem at all. My wife and I got two rooms for ourselves, a 1-year-old, and a 5-year-old--the rooms are small so we really wouldn't have fit into one--and at the low-season price this was still a pretty decent deal. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to the kids, and the breakfast buffet was extensive and worth getting. We'd definitely stay here again.

Anybody who has stayed at an Ibis Hotel can skip this part. All Ibis rooms are almost identical. The décor, the walls and the rug are all standardized patterns. The desk at the window sill and the closet without a door are all pretty much the same. The firm but comfortable double bed occupies most of the room. There is a thin screen TV with one or two channels in English. The bathroom is bright clean and compact with only a stall shower. This is what the steady Ibis customer expects and that is what this very large chain gives. When you wake up in an Ibis room you have no idea what country you are in and looking out the window usually does not help as the view is often of a car park or somebody’s garden. There is some variety in the check in areas most of which now have free internet. You have to pay for it in the room. The food areas are functional but not elegant. Mainly set up for the paid breakfast. The chain is designed for the business and economic traveler who does not intend to spend much time in the room. If you have not stayed in one try one and you may find you like it as my wife and I have. There are a lot of them and often well located. So the important thing about a review is location and that is what I will emphasize that in this review. The Ibis at Locarno has a great location. It is a short walking distance from the lake front in one direction and at right angles a short distance from the Grand Piazza the shopping dining center. The location had both free and pay parking. Very enjoyable stay. The front desk recommended a nearby lake front bar and restaurant which had the spirit of Locarno.

Close to the city center and still in the peaceful corner. One bad feeling I got is that we had book culture-package which in website said we will get "ein feines Gläschen Wein aus der Region". I got an Italien wine instad of Tessin wine. The black-hair woman at reception (which always not smile... seem that she doesn't like her job), just pick the only wine bottle that was open withh out even look at the lebel. (I looked at the bottle since I wanted to know what I drank). Pity.. Other staffs are great and very friendly.

Hi very nice clean modern hotel, parking was a nightmare and had to park in local car park at extra cost, despite telephoning ibis direct and checking that they had twin rooms, when we arrived they didnt have any at all, so had to pay again for another single, and they are not cheap in this part of switzerland, so very dissapointed with that part of Ibis service

Just what you need to expect from any Ibis. Staff is friendly and very cooperative. Speak English. WIFI only in the lounge. Well located about 10 minutes from the train station. Close from the Pizza Grande. An Indian Restaurant is at walking distance and so is a super market which surprisingly the staff was not aware about.

worth the money spent, will definitely stay in this hotel again if visiting Locarno in the future.
