I stayed at the Ibis Budget Hotel in Leuven due to work. The room was clean, the double bed was big enough and the WIFI was fast. The room as well as the breakfast met my expectations. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone travelling for business.
I use this hotel when I am in Leuven. There is good price and consistent quality of service. Good place for me, near railway station. It is near to bus station when I regulary go to the Zythos beer festival.
This hotel location is excellent for our visits to Belgium, as Lueven is an excellent place to stay with great rail service and your hotel is in the station. We would only ask that the plumbing be maintained on a routine basis and that some of the excellent breads Belgium be made available for breakfast. The white breads can not be eaten by my wife, who is a diabetic. The computer in the lobby is excellent, however, the browser software needs to be updated (no cost to the hotel with Windows) and a printer should be assigned to this set so that your guests can print boarding documents for their flights at the Brussels airport, thus avoiding a long wait in line and allowing them to go directly to immigration and security. The pillows shown in your marketing materials would be very nice to have in reality, as the actual pillows are flat and hard. It is still a great price and as noted your location is excellent, with a grocery store directly below the hotel.
Ideally situated right next to the train station at Leuven, it's only a short walk into town from there, under the station and down the main drag. There are several bars that serve food in the square on the opposite side of the station to the hotel. All were reasonably priced & the ones I tried all served good sized portions. The Ibis Budget is the same as the other Ibis budgets I've stopped in, although standards in this one seemed to have slipped a little since I last stayed 18 mths ago. The cleaning needs more attention to detail. Although the towels were changed every day as requested, the whole Ibis budget brand seems to think a fully grown adult can get dry with the small, almost hand towel size towels. If there's more than one person in the room I'll think you'll struggle. That said, everything else was fine, the bed linen was clean, the bed comfy and the room very quiet, although I was right at the end of the corridor on the 7th floor (I did request a quiet room). Overall pleasant for the price.
This hotel offers excellent value for money. Easily accessible on the side of the railway station and yet quiet. The rooms are standard for an Ibis Budget being clean and functional. Breakfast is a continental buffet and there are alternatives within the railway station complex. A small supermarket is effectively underneath. There is a "chip-shop" opposite for basic food or cross the railway where there are many pubs/restaurants.
