"Adequate and better than the competition."
17th April 2012, Rattz, Cardiff, United Kingdom
Better than some budget hotels marketing themselves in a similar way. The hotel is clean, tidy, has an on site restaurant, 24 hour food service and a bar. Food was good. Its located a good half hours walk from the nearest bars / restaurant area. That said its quieter than most central city hotels and for the price I would rather stay here than at the competition.

"A Little Disappointed Here"
5th March 2012, lincoln
Staff were brilliant and I couuldn't fault them they were well above the standard of this hotel! The central area near the bar was a little shabby, I moved a chair so my colleague could be seated withus and there were old dried chips on the floor. They were still there next morning. Evening meal ok, breakfast a bit disjointed. running short of either food or cutlery. could be better

"Not the most glamorous location but you'll receive great servive"
5th March 2012, AccorGoldCarder, Nottingham
I needed a room in or near Swansea and this one came up in the normal Accor search. I wasn't planning to arrive until late, booked just 6-hours before I was due to arrive and still got a good rate.I forgot to add a note to my booking about late arriveal so I rang ahead and was greeted very warmly by Diane and she reserved a nice quiet room for me.It's not the most glamorous looking or located hotel but it was easy to find and has a big carpark to the rear which is free. The check-in was a pleasure - warm and friendly - and the room was more than adequate. Quite large without the usual iBis "pod", the room was clean and spacious.A colleague joined me for breakfast the following morning and the restaurant area was spacious and clean. The breakfast was typical good value, all-you-can-eat iBis.I really can't say a bad word about this iBis. The staff more than compensate for its industrial location and we were in Swansea at our meeting 20-minutes after we left the hotel.Great staff, great service.

"Poor quality hot food for breakfast"
8th October 2011, Letchworth, United Kingdom
Standard of the hotel room was very good with excellent facilities. It represents good value for money. The quality of hot food for breakfast in the restaurant was very poor. Food had been left for far too long in the heated containers and had dried out. In the case of the scrambled egg, mouldy egg was found and a complaint was made. This was a health risk but no apology was forthcoming and staff simply blamed the previous shift. The hotel did not take the matter seriously even though it could be a reportable incident. If I was to stay at an Ibis hotel again I would not have any food there as the hygene standards are too low.

"good value for money"
7th October 2011, Manchester, United Kingdom
I was in Swansea on business. The hotel wasn't far from either the park and ride or the city centre if you wanted to drive. I was at the university and it was ideally placed. The room was ok. if a little spartan. no bath, just a shower, but that doesn't really bother me. The bed was a little hard and would have benefited from a duvet or a few extra blankets. Putting the heating on just filled the room with the hot dusty smell of an unused radiator. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it, if you are that way inclined. I don't usually eat in the mornings, but quite a choice. Not gripes, just observations. Worth the money I paid.

"Great Place"
22nd September 2011, helsbells79, Aberystwyth
Lovely place to stay. Friendly staff, close to town, cost only about £6 for taxi to town. Clean rooms. If anything was needed the staff were only too happy to help. Have stayed there twice and would definately stay there again. Plenty of parking spaces. Lift to the rooms. Haven't eaten here, so cannot comment on the food. Only issue was the same staff on reception and the bar and had to wait to be served if they were busy on reception, but we did take our own booze to drink in the room.

"Pretty Average"
3rd September 2011, Derby, United Kingdom
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my husband and 2 teenagers. When I booked the hotel, I reserved 2 twin rooms, but on arrival, we were given 2 double rooms. The receptionist whose name was Debbie was absolutely brilliant and moved us immediately to twin rooms. Luckily, the hotel was not full or this could not have been done.I was rather disappointed with the TV service in the rooms. These days, most hotels provide the full Freeview service, but this hotel did not. There were only 7 channels and not all of those worked properly. My husband went to the bar on the first evening and purchased 2 pints of lime and soda water for which he was charged £5.60. The following evening he bought the same thing again and was charged £1.20. When he challenged this, he was asked to produce his receipt from the previous day which he could not as he hadn't been given one.The hotel facilities are not bad, but I have stayed in other budget hotels for a cheaper price and the facilities have been much better. However, I must congratulate the hotel on their reception staff, especially Debbie, who was exceptional and thought nothing of going the "extra mile" to help.

"Ibis Swansea"
11th August 2011, london
Unfortunately the reception staff were not very efficient or polite. The TV was rather old fashioned. The room was very clean and tidy but only 2 pillows for a double bed.Location and value for money were excellent.

"Value"
3rd August 2011, Plymouth
We stayed at this hotel as we were moving our daughter who is studying at swansea Uni, to her new house. So we chose The Ibis as it was an ideal location both for our purpose and for the surrounding areas, City centre & Restaurants. We also had our 12 year old son with us 7 he enjoyed playing pool after we had our evening meal whilst we relaxed in the bar area. We found the Ibis to be very clean and great Value for money. A very enjoyable stay.

"Dirty breakfast tables"
27th July 2011, Walsall
One of the selling points of this hotel is that they do a good self-service all-you-can-eat breakfast for £7.50. Almost every morning we came down to breakfast to find tables that had been cleared of the dishes of the previous occupants but not CLEANED. We would hunt around to find the least dirty table and then wipe it clean ourselves with a serviette. You may say that all we had to do was to find a member of staff to clean a table for us, but, frankly, we shouldn't have to.

"GRUBBY ROOM - TIRED CHAIR READY FOR THE SKIP - NO THANKS!!!"
24th July 2011, silverfox30, United Kingdom
We booked two rooms to attend our son's graduation at the University. This was a very disappointing stay as our room was GRUBBY - the walls had scuffs, but worse, dirty hand and fingermarks from previous occupants right along the one side. (What were they doing??) Easy to clean with a damp cloth and cream cleanser but no-one bothered even after we had mentioned it at reception. The chair in the room was bursting out of its upholstery with the foam innards showing here and there - FIT FOR THE SKIP!! What a cheek to present a room like this for paying guests! Makes you stop and wonder if the bathroom floor is cleaned properly - just how many germs are lurking on that shower floor - which did not look pristine I must add - the dirty walls got me glancing around more closely with a jaundiced eye. The corridors were very scuffed too. My son's room one floor up was in better condition - fresher and cleaner. In summary, more detailed attention required to the cleaning of the rooms and corridor walls. On a brighter note, the staff were very polite and charming. However, we will not stay there again due to the hygiene that's for sure. We have stayed at Ibis in France and Prague which were all sparkling clean but this experience was not great. Seedy.

"Worst weekend ever"
19th July 2011, Portsmouth
I am sending a letter of complaint about this. The room wasnt made up even though there were 5 maids standing around. Breakfast was practically non existent, there was nothing edible, and nobody was bothering to check stocks of food/drink/cutlery/crockery. The bed was awful and we just rolled to the middle. It creaked every time we moved. There was no bath mat and the bedroom floor was very wet and slippery

"Horrible"
5th July 2011
Having stayed at a number of other Ibis hotels I was very dissappointed with this one. The staff were surly and the noise in the corridor and the rooms either side at 2am and 4.30am was completely unacceptable. Two of the lights did not work and one of the sockets only worked when you pushed and wiggled the plug. There is no socket where you can plug your own hair dryer in and see yourself in the mirror. The walls were dirty, there was a hair on one and two holes that you could put your finger in. There was a kettle and t bags but no cups. No hand towels.Empty beer cans and litter all over the car park and in quite a derelict area which I can see would be okay in a few years time - but not yet.The staff were surly, need I go on.The only saving grace was that the room wasn't too hot.
