Dirty and tired

TripAdvisor rating 1.0/5

K T TripAdvisor review

We had 4 rooms and 3 of them were in poor condition and dirty. Dirty footprints on the walls, numerous cobwebs covered in dust hanging from the ceiling, the previous guests used cups and spoons in the room, broken showers, heavily stained carpets! When we checked in at 3pm there were used dishes and empty bottles in the corridor. At 8.30 am on the way to breakfast the following morning I reported the dishes to reception. Nothing was done about them. After breakfast the housekeeping were cleaning the rooms in the corridor and ignored the dirty dishes. We checked out at 11 and the dishes were still there on the floor in the corridor. While we were also getting ready to leave housekeeping came into the room without knocking. On a positive note had a great nights sleep. Really comfy bed and the bedding appeared to be clean 👍

Thank you for leaving a review with us, We are sorry to see that your stay is not up to our usual standard . I will investigate this further and will discuss with the departments involved with your feedback. We hope you will stay with us again. Kind regards Jake Mountford | Duty Manager

Noisy

Unfortunately the smoking area attracts noisy guests well into the early hours. Since many rooms overlook it the noise can be very disturbing

Given a privilege room on second floor - well maintained apart from bathroom extractor. Staff looked after us well.

Uncomfortable Stay

Booked a twin room two months in advance and asked for it to be on higher floor as we like to sleep with a window open which has never been a problem in the past. However on check in we were told all twin rooms are on ground floor only which meant we couldn't leave a window open overnight for security reasons, looked out to cars parked 15 feet away and had to sleep with air conditioning on all night. It was therefore an uncomfortable 2 nights stay which will not be repeated again, as we wont stay there again.

Horrible outlook

Booked a twin bedded room in February and asked for it to be on a higher floor like we have always had before. When we checked in last week, we were told all twin rooms are now on the ground floor only. I wrote to the hotel manager on our return questioning the new policy, and had a reply from the office manager confirming " Our official twin rooms that are on ground floor" so be aware if you book a twin room at this hotel you look out to a car parked 2 feet from your window or 15 feet away depending if your room faces to the front or rear of the building , either way not a nice outlook. Would not go back there again in a hurry.

Thank you for leaving us a review of your recent stay with us. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed during your stay. We try to complete all requests, even when booked ahead of time, so I am sorry we weren't able to do that for you this time. I will speak to our Front Office Team to make sure that we are communicating this to our guests. I do hope to welcome you back again in the future. Kind Regards Jenn Howell Operations Manager
