"Parking Charges!!!"

We loved our room, great views, close to the centre of town, wonderful pool and spa facilities but I was quite upset about the parking charges which were not mentioned until we got the bill - I might not have minded had these been made clear at the time of booking.

"excellent stay"

we were treated well from start to finish. had a great room and eating spa facilities made our stay on valentines that much more special. we had one small problem with the shower in morning (please state that shower was excellent up till then) but the service we got following was high quality 10/10 and we said we would defo con back if we had to chose a hotel.

"Great hotel with great location"

We stayed for two nights for a Valentine Break away. At the time the hotel was extremely well priced and good value for money. On greeting us the staff were very friendly and I asked for a room at back of hotel and high up as I am a light sleeper, this was granted immediately and the room was lovely. The rooms are very large on an L shape with a settee sitting area as well as bed. This is great when you have children as you can but child to bed and be around corner to watch Tv or chat. Rooms were well laid out, clean and all amenities supplied, bed was huge and lovely.Stay included the use of hotel facilities, spa and pool . Did not have breakfast so can't comment but looking in it looked plentiful and well staffed.Only small critism would be being charged for wifi at £4 per hour and car parking at £12 per night. We had a good deal on price of stay so not too disappointing but if I had to pay full price for room I would be very annoyed as rooms can be expensive.Overall a very nice hotel and very pleasant stay.

No pillowcases...lack of toiletries....had to keep our coats on re. cold....couldn't get a response from reception, housekeeping or any other office , so had to queue on reception to point out these matters..." We are busy you know ?" said it all. However;Restaurant staff were superb.When I filled in the response form on-line ....classic response...sorry you didn t enjoy...see you on your next visit to Cardiff (really?).

"excellent service"

this is the 3rd time my wife and i have stayed at this hotel. service by all staff is excellent and the bar/restaurant staff really make your stay special. rooms are all a good size (we always upgrade to executive), but they do need a bit of modernisation as they are beginning to look a little worn in some area (rings from cups on windowsills, windows are a little grubby). room was nice and quietand bath is amazingly deep! food in the restaurant is of a high standard and prices are very good. however, i really wish that on booking in they would tell you what extras you are getting for your money. they dont automatically give out the complimentary broadbroand access unless you ask for it and items such as dressing gowns in the room had to be requested. small nit picks tho for an excellent hotel which we are definetly staying at again.

"Huge room overviewing the city"

I stayed at this hotel for one night on Sunday during the bank holiday. I was surprised by how spacious the room is. The room can eaisily be partitioned into a suite and it has wide windows that goes from wall to wall. And because I have a corner unit I have super long windows that go from one end to the other end. I can see Cardiff Bay and all the city center buildings from my room.I went there while it has a promotion going on so the rate is very good but otherwise you probably have to pay 30 GBP more per night. The hotel is about 5 min walk from the Cardiff Queen Street station where you can easily get to Cardiff Bay and Cardiff Central for 1.5 GBP and the train runs about every 12 min.You can also walk to the city center shopping district where all the bars, clubs and restaurants are easily in 15-20 min. Walking to Cardiff Castel or the musuems nearby only adds 5 more min.The only downside is that they don't have free Internet service at the hotel.

"Better than expected"

Very clean, welcoming and relaxing; the staff were very friendly. Our room was exceptionally large with a mini fridge, large flat screen TV and safe. The bathroom must be the cleanest I've ever come across in a hotel.Just wished we had brought swimming stuff for the spa!

"A good stay"

Nice large room & good selection of pillow type. Had light supper in the bar, but was offered a seat in the diningroom to eat it, if I wanted to escape the TV football - a very thoughtfull gesture. All staff I dealt with were local and helpful. Booked in as convenient for business location, but would use it as an hotel of choice in teh future.

"Big Hotel, looks better on the inside"

This hotel was very nice to stay in. It looks much nicer than you'd guess from the outside.I had a lovely room with views over cardiff. Very spacious with sofa, desk and comfy bed.Would definately stay again. Need to book early for good value.They say limited parking but I didn't have any problems that day.

"Mecure Holland House Spa"

An enjoyable romantic valentine package. Nice touches - chocolates on pillow. Champagne with meal. Pool was a little cold but could be the time of the year. Would stay again. Five minute walk into Cardiff was great - went to nearby museum - most enjoyable.
