"Friendly hotel"

I arrived at the hotel having booked online, only to find out that I had booked for the wrong month! The staff were great and gave me a room just the same and at no extra charge. The location of this hotel is really central and the staff friendly. I like staying there when in Budapest. Thank you.

"Budapest Visit"

European rooms seem to be typically somewhat smaller than those in other geographic areas. Slightly higher per night cost probably due to its location. Walking street with restaurants and shops just outside the front door in both directions. Recommend you do not simply trust the first taxi driver you meet to correctly use his meter upon initial arrival into the city. Try to confirm cost first. Train station to hotel fare should be 3,000 KC or less, not the 7,000 we were overcharged for the short trip. Hotel arranged transport to airport upon departure was 5,900 KC and 3 times as far.

"Fantastic location in the heart of Budapest"

Stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. Walking out the front door you are at the center of the pedestrian mall and only 1 1/2 blocks from the River Danube. There are many shops and restauants just steps away from the hotel. Because of the location, I would stay there again.

"Central location"

The hotel is located central on the pedestrian street (Vaci street) not far from Donau. It is within easy reach of many sightseeing places. Nice restaurants nearby. Free wi-fi worked perfectly and so did the aircondition. Very nice breakfast. The staff were great - including the cleaning staff. The drain in our shower cabin did not work well. We were only giving one large duvet with the result my husband and I were fighting about it most nights. I think the hotel overall was a 4 star hotel, but the room itself was only 3,5 star. However, we would consider staying here again due to its location.

Prime location of the city, easy accesible to all well known tourist spot near in Budapest. Affordable rate and excellent service. Regarding breakfast blenty of varieties available to select. Overall nice expericence and good hospitality.

Excellent location - 5 minutes walk to blue metro line 3 station which is on the route to the airport (with bus 200e) .Easy to get across the river or go on a boat trip. Just don't go to the coffee shops on Vaci utca unless you want to pay £4 for a croissant. Room ok but corridor outside smelt of cigarettes. No kettle which to an englishman abroad is a big problem - my fault as i didn't check on the hotel website before booking.Desk staff very pleasant.

"Excellent Hotel in Great Location"

The Mercure Budapest City Center is a great hotel in a great location. Right on the main shopping street in Pest with close access to Metro stops, the location can't be beat. The rooms are of nice size and the breakfast is nice as well. The hotel is kept up well and very clean. In our privilege room we had robes and slippers. The curtains were nice and dark and the windows solid to keep out noise. The only problem experienced during our stay was that the elevators were either very slow or not working at all, and being on the 7th floor, taking the stairs was not the best option. Other than the slow elevators, I would highly recommend this hotel.

"Excellent hotel"

This hotel has a great location right in the heart of Budapest and the main tourist area. Short walk to main sites/metro stops.Room was spacious albeit a little dated. Very big bed though. Room was at the front of the hotel on the 1st floor, and had to leave windows open as quite warm at night. A little noisy but not unbearable.Staff very friendly and helpful on check-in and prompt response when I sent a query before arrival.Good value if you can get this in one of the Accor Group's special offers!

"Perfect stay in Budapest"

We spent a very nice time my daughter and myselft in this hotel. Confortable room, breakfast buffet with a very large choice, quite, calm, silent in spite of the "rue piétonne" and so very well located, which allow great facility for the different places to visit. If I had to return to Budapest I might choose this hotel again.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay all the staff were friendly and helpfull the bedroomes were comfortable( could of been a little bit bigger).Breakfast was an experience the choice and the quality was excelent.We wouldn't hesitate to stay with you again in the future.The only negative was that the rooms were to warm.

"A great Hotel in the Centre of things."

We stayed 4 nights and it was just as we expected, the shower room was a tad on the small side, but otherwise the room was very comfortable. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.The Location is excellent, right in the middle of the main pedestrian drag.with all the sights, excellent restaurants etc within walking distance.The only downside is that Accor inexplicable no longer accept Amex for advance internet bookings.

"Girls on Tour in Budapest"

This hotel is in a shopping street in the Pest side of the city and is also very close to the river Danube, but you can't see it. We had an enjoyable stay and the hotel was very nice indeed, but the beds are very hard and give you backache. The staff are it's best asset. They are so polite and would do anything for you, except let you in the main door at night. I paid extra for a priveledge room and part of that was having bathrobes. These are made to fit skeletons with skin so be warned, if you are of average or lager size. They provide tea and coffee in priveledge rooms, but again beware, check out the tea bag situ first as there were 2 guestes, but only one proper breakfast tea bag, the others were herbal. You can get supplies though from the priveledge lounge on the first floor. There, you can also get fresh fruit, peanuts, crisps and pretzels, water, juice, tea and coffee and you can use the internet. The lounge is a nice area and you should use it if you want to make up for ill fitting bath robes and slippers. So get your money's worth. The maid will not clean your floor during your stay but will replace towels as long as you leave them on the floor, and the room was 'made nice' by he/she. I would certainly not buy drinks in the hotel bar as the prices are ridculous but all in all a nice stay. Would I pay extra again for certain priveledges??? I am not sure, but I would stay in this hotel again, if only for the Italian restaurant next door, where the food was excellent.

"Excellent location with reasonable costs"

This hotel is highly recommended with advance booking. It stands in front of the main shopping street and is pretty convenient both for business and leisure. It provides free Wi-Fi but its quality is to be improved.

Excellent location in central Pest for visiting all the city sights. Hotel was very quiet at this time of year, so good service was received throughout. Breakfast was good quality and very quiet - able to sit in window seat overlooking shops in vaci utca. Budapest can be very cold in February!!!
