« bad choice to spend nights in Budapest »

privilege room was very very tired and used!!!!!! that was not a mercure standard in middle of Europe at all. my first and last visit there. I've booked my stay without breakfast. They added me breakfast without asked and inform about that. They wanted to charge for minibar, which was untouched!!!

MaricsJ, General Manager at Mercure Budapest City Center, responded to this review

« A true disappointment in the Mercure family »

This hotel is located at a superb spot, in the heart of the city. But it is not worthy of the Mercure name, at least not any more. The price is as steep as some of the best Mercure hotels in Europe, but nearly the whole place is threadbare and shabby, carpets and furniture worn out, personnel only partially kind. The TV set is a joke, the picture quality is unenjoyable, full of lines and spots, the selection is very poor. Such a hotel must have a satellite selection, not some poor cable choices. Wifi is so slow as to be of very little use. Again, good, stable and fast wifi would be a minimum for such a price. Breakfast was quite all right with a wide selection. Minibar is ridiculous with the only still water choice being the smallest Evian (200 ml) for 4 or 5 euros. A cheap trick to make sure they get the most money, while offering very little.

I would like to assure you that in the frame of a great development carried out in the near future our hotel will be renewed. This project will allow our guests to experience the new standards of comfort and design. We look forward to showing you these upgrades and to welcoming you back. Kind regards, József Márics General Manager

« Budapest visit »

The hotel is in an ideal spot in the middle of the pedestrian zone on the Pest side. Easy walk to restaurants, the market, and shopping and night life. My only complaint is the that mattresses are very firm. Mu husband liked it that way, but I had trouble sleeping.

LiviaNagyidai, Guest Relations Manager at Mercure Budapest City Center, responded to this review

« GREAT LOCATION »

The Hotel is right in the City Centre and ideal for visiting shops, the river and many other city centre attractions. In general the hotel interior is looking a little worn now, but is acceptable. The Breakfast was good. The staff were very pleasant. The only real negative was the expensive car park, which due to road works, was really difficult to find, the only way to get to it was by driving the wrong way down a one way street. I think the Mercure should have put some signage out to assist. So, a reasonable choice if you can get a good price.

LiviaNagyidai, Guest Relations Manager at Mercure Budapest City Center, responded to this review

Dear JOHN T, Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we are happy to see you have enjoyed the location of our hotel and we hope you had a great time and some memorable moments during your stay. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience regarding the difficult approach, unfortunately we can not control the nearby road works and traffic changes, under normal circumstances our hotel can be easily reached. In case our guests mention a demand for parking spot in our garage in their reservation we always send them detailed information about the availability and the easiest way to approach us while the construction lasts. We look forward to welcome you back to our hotel. Kind regards, Lívia Nagyidai Guest Relations & Quality Coordinator

« Comfortable stay »

I stayed for 3 nights at Mercure Budapest and the stay was extremely comfortable. The USP is the location of the hotel. It is right at the centre of the city and many attractions are within walking distance. I just want to add that all staff members of the hotel were extremely helpful and answered every queries that I had as a tourist. My five and half year daughter liked the breakfast very much.

LiviaNagyidai, Guest Relations Manager at Mercure Budapest City Center, responded to this review

Dear DibyenduDhar, Thank you so much for sharing your experience, we are glad to see you had a great time during your stay with us. We usually organize training for our staff to make sure they provide the highest quality of service every day. Your positive feedback serves as a certify for us to keep on doing the same in order to earn the trust and satisfaction of our guest. We look forward to welcome you back in our hotel soon.
