"A few minor issues...."

Hotel is nicely located in the centre of the city by the river. We booked a "River View - Superior" room . For the £130 pricetag I was a bit disappointed with a couple of things:a) the tv in the bathroom would not workb) the bedroom table lamp would not workc) the river view was actually hidden by trees! (1st floor room)On the plus side the staff were friendly and the breakfast was goodBasically could do bit better...........View management response »

"A Hidden Gem!!"

Whilst the hotel was very difficult to find (the sat-nav took us all the way down the other end of the street and no one in the nearby cafe's or restaurants knew where it was!!), once we did actually manage to get there, the hotel was really lovely, with extremely helpful and friendly staff and great rooms. I would definitely stay there again and I would certainly recommend it.View management response »

I stayed for 3 nights in this hotel. The quality of the room is excellent. There is a small tv in the bathroom which is unexpectedly good for me. The staff provided excellent service. They gave responds immediately and they can provided useful and accurate information.View management response »

Everything as we expected from a 4* hotel. In addition, superb location, very nice, helpful and friendly staff and breakfast was very nice too. Room was very clean and had all the facilities needed. Overall, very good value for money and would highly recommend.View management response »

"Nice hotel, snobby staff"

The hotel itself is in a great location, the rooms are very nice but the staff aren't.Whenever asked for or about anything they are very rude and are quick to hang up the phone or walk away, as if they just couldn't be bothered to answer. A very pleasant comfortable hotel with charming, helpful staff and excellent breakfast.. Ask for an upgrade to overlook the harbour. Car Park in the same block.Visit the Bristol Old Vic in nearby King Street.View management response »

"Let down by TV"

I've been staying there for 3.5 years they still can't get Channel5 on the television, it's Freeview for heaven's sake. Room Service is a bit limited but apart from that it is ideally situated with good public areas. Also on the plus side the staff are helpful and the breakfast is goo.View management response »

"Best Mercure Brand Hotel I've stayed in"

I have stayed in a few Mercure hotels for both business and leisure but this has to be one of the best. Room had a floor to ceiling window with waterfront view, TV and radio in the bathroom, and lots of other features you might not expect from a Mercure hotel. Excellent value for money (night I stayed rooms were £10 more than Ibis down the road).View management response »
