"Service could be better"

The good:* the rooms are well-appointed and the shower is great* the bed was comfortable* the gym was perfect for a hotel gymThe bad:* the front desk staff were surly* I've had better Sofitel breakfasts but it was ok

great hotel and service. the only bad thing is that even though i booked the luxury suite with king size bed (the most expensive one), i still had to pay for parking, breakfast and even internet... at this level of room, such things should not be additional, it sounds "cheap"...

We came during Carnival with my husband to stay few days in Floripa. I loved location and clean first floor, but that`s the only positive points I`ve noted during our stay.The staff from reception was extremely inattentive (it was a day of my birthday when we checked in to the hotel and normally when you stay at 4-5 star hotels you get at least a minimum sign of attention as flowers in your room or chocolate with champagne in the evening), I got absolutely nothing. The room was OK, but carpet on the floor was a kind of old and not very clean. The cleaning lady was not cleaning rooms well, you could still see hair in bathroom and sheets were not changed daily.The 2nd morning of our stay we had to wake up at 5 am in the morning because a guy in the room next to ours was yelling so loud (talking to someone on phone), so it was absolutely unbearable to keep on sleeping... On the last day of our stay, we had to check out from hotel early in the morning next day (at 6 am) to catch an early plane, thus on the eve of our departure came to the reception to pay for our bills in advance to save some time in the morning ( for breakfast, parking etc.), but the guy from reception told us we could not do it and did not bother to explain why in details. Mentioned something about our payment for last day of stay not appearing in their system yet, I wonder how is it possible if we paid for all stay in advance few month before our trip?To cut a long story short, I would definitely never go to Sofitel Florianopolis again. For the amount of money you are paying there are a way better options, for instance Majestic Palace which is just few blocks from Sofitel.

VEry clean, good service at the reception; they helped us in many ways, very comfortable rooms and good location.But it does look more like business trip kind of hotels rather than romantic getaway, but still nice! we were happy with our choice!

Hotel installations are great, but was surprised with poor quality, apparent lack of training, of some front desk personnel... specially a guy with Portugal speaking accent which was quite rude in terms of what you expect from a Sofitel quality type of hotel. Non-availability of free Wi-Fi access also surprised me.

It's a clean hotel but the rooms are not well insulated since I was waken up by a terrible fight between a couple. The hotel has a good Gym, it is well located in terms of the restaurants and night life around, the parking valet is worth to have since it's very difficult to park around. It's pool is small but it has a great view of the promenade. In general is good for the price I paid.

Sofitel Florianpolis is a beautiful hotel with gorgeous view of the bay, spacious rooms, and nice amenities (rooftop pool and gym). The location is not ideal for our vacationing purpose. No beaches nearby, every taxi ride we took from the hotel cost around $45 USD, no accessible public transportation. We asked the staff for help on getting around, they suggested renting a car and told us that the bus system is "too complicated" for us. While the staff did provide us with a great restaurant guide, they were not helpful in giving directions for how to travel around Florianpolis. Eventually, we met helpful English-speaking locals at the Aloha Cafe in Lagoa, who gave us directions on using public bus (wasn't too complicated for us).

It's a very good hotel if you compare what it offers versus price. Very nice location. I recommend, I think that all Sofitel hotels are more expensive than this one.

I liked the Sofitel Florianapolis very much. The hotel is well designed and have the atmosphere of a small one, though it offers 145 rooms. Room was full of light and clean, both in design and maintenance.The roof top pool was just amazing, offering a great view of teh Florianapolis bay and mountains.I'll ceratinly come again, if i can.

The room was good. The staff either do not know about the Sofitel A Club program or pretend not to know. I inquired about an upgrade at check in and was adv ised that the upgrade was a lake facing room on the third floor only. I decided not to accept and stuck to my 7th floor room with a side view.I waited for my free drink and my gift. Nothing arrived. Came back down and asked about the Gold benefits:+75% bonus pointsGet an exclusive welcome in Sofitel hotels, with a greeting drink and special gift.- Guaranteed room availability with 5 days notice- Room upgrade at check-in (depending on availability)- Late check-out until 4:00 pmThe staff member then sent up a bowl of fruit with 3 strawberries and lots of pineapple pieces and no drink. Went back again to front desk and asked about my free drink, and the then gave me a coupon.I expected more from this hotel and as a Gold member expected the staff to know about the benefits and how to welcome Gold members.So that is why I gave an average grade. I will try the Majestic hotel next time which is closer to the mall. And BTW the hotel's seafood salad was just below par, lots of lettuce and a couple of pieces of seafood deep fried,

bad service at front desk, employers without all informations of the city, employers not very friendly, many people talking loud at 3 oclock, drunked, nobody advice about the restaurants, the menu for night and they didn;t sell the dinner of christmas night because no places were available....
