The facade of the hotel is impressive. The entrance however is less imposing. The lifts can only be activated with a room card. The room had a nice view. It was clean and appeared well-maintained. The only disappointment was the breakfast for which I paid extra. The hot food choice was limited and did not include omelette, or bacon. There were also no saucers for the coffee cups. When I queried these with the staff I was simply told: "this is a budget hotel". Perhaps, but I spent around Chf 800 and expected more. There were cooked pork sausages and hard boiled eggs - it could not have cost that much more for the hotel to provide omelette as well, or saucers for the cups.

I have been using this hotel for over 10 years. I choose it because of its cleanliness but on this occasion for my stay of three days sheets were not changed. Upon inquiring I was told that the sheets are now changed every three days unless you make a specific request, this not written anywhere nor are we told upon check-in. What I didn’t know is that even the floors are not swept. During my stay bins were emptied towels changed but the floors remained unclean. It was disappointing coming back to an unswept room and dirty sheets after my meetings..

I was initially given a room with no ventilation and the windows could not be opened either. I asked for a change of room with windows that can be opened. After this, I was happy except for the noise from the restaurant below. This was however better than no ventilation
