Beautiful , well decorated rooms with comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom and room. The hot simple buffet in the morning is the "star" of nearly all the guests. A least you get your one hot meal per day and trust me this is a big thing. The restaurant is open from 4 am to past midnight. Hotel is big and therefore you have many customer from all over the world. This is a very international hotel located in Kensington. A must location to be if you wish to do visit central London and Windsor or Oxford. The hotel itself has its own restaurant and bar, but you are a one underground station away from Fulham road and Earls Court where all the food shops and drug stores and main every day and essential stores are located
The twin room we booked was much smaller than it looks in the picture. The stairs to the bar had a filthy carpet which was off putting. The room was clean and the bar looked OK (though we didn't really use it) a little run down in places but adequate for what we needed and convenient for Earls Court or Brompton train station.
Its good to stay a night or 2 but they hotel doesn't provide fridges which is a problem, the staff kindly offered an ice bucket but by the end of the night all melts especially if heating on. Nice and warm showers quite nice and powerful, I do think they should provide bit of little things in the bathroom like mini soaps and etc top give that bit of luxury. The prices are ok but when i wanted to extend my stay was a bit erxpensive to add other then that the
Ibis London Earls Court is a large well-situated, well-kept business type hotel, very clean and quite acceptable in all respects, if it were not for the reception services. I have traveled a fair deal and this reception rates as second worst in my experience. The number of visitors is too large, the officers are overworked, hence they treat customers as nuisance. It is not a matter of helpfulness, it is a matter of uselessness. Any check-in machine would do the same job. To be fair to Londoners, everyone I met on this stay, from the Customs officers, to the Tube travelers and the random shop-keepers were more helpful, kinder and welcoming than this set of reception clerks.
Very comfortable hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always good and the service was excellent. The only issue, but it's not a big one, is the on the last day the cleaning lady kept knocking on the door to clean the room when I specifically told her to come back in half an hour because we are leaving. I guess it was a misunderstanding. Or advise the housekeeping not to pressure the guests beforehand re the checkout time.
