"Good value thanks to location"
8th May 2012, RamiTelAviv_Israel, Tel Aviv, Israel
The hotel is OK, but the central location makes it an especially good value. The rooms are small, but well lit and very clean. All seems new or renovated recently.Staff not so professional, though kind. The Internet package they offer is not clear and not easy to operate - requires some interfacing with the TV before. All in all - if you are looking for a reasonably priced, decent hotel, in central London - you should certainly consider this hotel.

"Very good accomodation"
4th May 2012, AlessandroC2
I have spent 5 days (4 nights) in London at this hotel, well knowing Ibis hotels' standard. The room on the 6th floor was large enough for two people equipped with air conditioning system, TV and hairdryer. Bed and bathroom comfortable. During our stay we have also had dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Both room and restaurant were clean and everything went with no problem. The hotel is in a central position (City): the streets use to be very crowded in the morning but the room was perfectly soundproofed. London Underground literally at 60 seconds by foot.

"Not at all Comfortable!"
22nd April 2012, Celeb98, Kolkata (Calcutta), India
We stayed for 4 nights at Ibis Hotel, London city during 13th - 17th April 2012. We did not liked the room at all. Its not value for money at all!! The rooms are small, very inconveniently decorated and gives you a very uncomfortable feeling..For Indian travelers, the breakfast is pretty badly planned...If you eat beef or pork then you wont have problems. But in case you don't, you better do not take the breakfast at hotel. The location however is very convenient.

"Stunningly Average"
21st April 2012, crewdy_12, Manchester, United Kingdom
Did what it needed to do, bed was poor and impossible to get the room the right temperature. The bathroom was cheap. One annoying thing was that the plug sockets were so far from the bed I couldn't charge my phone and still use it from bed

"hotel ibis..take it or leave it"
21st April 2012, poundcake2000, Sydney, Australia
I stayed at the hotel ibis in london for 3 days.Breakfast was average but the hotel itself is really nice and spacious. Its basically next to nothing so if you are looking for sight seeing this isnt the place for you.You will need the tube and buses. The service is really poor and they charge you 1 pound for every 10 mins for the internet.I will say this tho,the gentleman who works there is excellent. As for the women..dont bother, they are absoultely useless.Would i stay here again??For the price yes..for anything else no

"Best holiday"
20th April 2012, Emma228, Reading, United Kingdom
We had a wonderful holiday spent in London. The service offered by the hotel offered us all we needed. The room was clean and had all the necessary facilities to make the holiday completed. The hotel location is great because it is near the tube station Aldgate East that allow us to travel quickly to the London attractions. I like best the breakfast served by the hotel.

"Weekend Break"
18th April 2012, Dizzy_Wend, Solihull
The Ibis London City is a good all round hotel, very clean, friendly service ideal for a weekend break in the City or to stay for business, located next to underground stations. Sunday walk round Pettycoat Lane Market is a must and just round the corner, I recommend this hotel for a good clean no frills stay.

"Ibis London City"
5th April 2012, Reading, United Kingdom
We have stayed here several times because of its proximity to the tube, 2 minutes if you walk slowly. Brick Lane is round the corner , another 2 minutes. From here this time we went to the Ideal Home Exhibition, the Olympic park, the River Clipper , walk along the Thames to Barnes and the Old Operation Theatre Museum. With an Ibis you know what you're getting, clean, simple ,basic but all you need. We don't do breakfast but the evening meals are pleasant and good value for London. The staff are friendly and cheerful. The only downside this time was a fire alarm at 3.40am, but that was some idiot smoking in his room , not the hotels fault.

"My first stay"
30th March 2012, Birmingham, United Kingdom
From the moment I walked in the service and politness of staff was to a acceptable standard no problems. The check in and me asking for specfic requirments i.e taxi was dealt with excellently. The check out too longer than I thought it would due to be wanting a invoice but was not too bad. Overall, very good experience would definatley use again.
"Average for price"
26th March 2012, Peterborough, United Kingdom
Only marked location down as its listed as 'City' I would say on the more truthfull is 'edge of city but still only 10 mins walk from the Tower etc. Room clean enough and although rooms have averything (except idividual shower gels - gel/shampoo in dispenser in shower cubicle) still basic. Right next to Aldgate East Station and handy for Brick Lane (2 mins) Smithfields etc. When booked I asked for double but got twin (couldn't be bothered to change) bed comfortable enough. At the time I stayed March 2012 there was a large construction site next door so noisy up to early evening and traffic could be heard from my 1st floor room all night. Avearaged £100+ per night of my 4 night stay so I guess good value interent not included though :-/ - The turn up rate was £209! and for that
"Well located hotel"
17th March 2012, bobSouthport, Southport
Have stayed here before, a typical Ibis, roos recently refurbished and extras now in the room, hair dryers etc. Reception staff excellent, didn't eat as the hotel is situated close to Brick Lane, Spitalfields Manrket and close to the City, some of the best restaurants in London near here.Very cconvenient for the tube. Will definately stay again
"good hotel"
16th March 2012, London, United Kingdom
Positiv: Very good service especilially the breakfast, clean rooms. i had to smile about the bathroom. Very good lokation to the tube and bus stationNegativ: To pay for internet.
"Business traveller"
12th March 2012, London
Miles better than Travelodge but not quite as good as Premier yet value for money nevertheless. (Booked on line at approx 50% rack rate quoted behind reception). Room comfortable and well thought out but the shower soap was empty (pet hate when travelling as don;t want to carry bags of toiletaries for one night). Air con worked and good sound proofing.
"Good value with few flaws"
11th March 2012, Saffron Walden, United Kingdom
I stay here regularly because it is close to my office and I live out of town, so I find it very convenient if I need to go for a late client dinner, for example. Rooms are very clean and well insulated from noise from other rooms and the corridor. Pricing is not cheap BUT it is as cheap as you are going to get so close to the financial district. Ask for rooms facing the university as rooms facing the road can be very noisy (police cars, city traffic etc). THE TWO THINGS THEY SHOULD IMPROVE are (1) the length of time you have to wait to get served in the restaurant (very friendly staff but not enough of them) and (2) the length of time it takes to check out (I make a point of checking out the night before as it can 20 minutes otherwise).
"Great Location shame about the room furnishings"
9th March 2012, Bristol
Great location - just round the corner from Aldgate East TubeSuperb restauarant - great french cuisine, cooked as you'd find in a french bistro at a sensible priceBedrrom quality let things down a little - wafer thin mattress and pillows. Small TV with average picture quality at best although it does have Sky 1 (no sky sports though). No iron / board in room but ironing 'rooms' on every other floorAll in all a good base if you're in London on business for a couple of days but dont want to pay the higher prices charged by the bigger chains for te pleasure of a few additional amenities
"City break"
2nd March 2012, Leeds, United Kingdom
a good well located clean hotel with modern spacious rooms in what felt like a safe area of London. Very much enjoyed. The service was polite.the location was central and within easy walking distance of the Tower of London and many nice restaurants including Marco Pierre Whites.
"Good hotel 10 mins from the City"
27th February 2012, Zurich, Switzerland
Good hotel staffed almost entirely by friendly French personel which is a bit unusual but does make the bistro restaurant atmosphere more authentic! 10 minute walk into the City and a tube station round the corner and many options for eating out near by; e.g. Billingsgate and Brick Lane... Only criticism is that reception is often understaffed so checking in/out can take a while.
"Good hotel for City London"
17th February 2012, tinkaatwork, Sheffield, United Kingdom
Stayed in Feb. Close to metro and City - just 10-15 min walk. Excellent stuff - very friendly and helpful. If you don't want to eat at hotel restaurant - just within 1 min walk a lot of take-aways and Tesco express
"Good value for London"
9th February 2012, Melbourne, Australia
Spent a cold weekend in London. Ibis was great value for money - You know what you are getting and service was excellent. Good value for money breakfast as well. Location ideal so close to the tube. Will be going again when next in London
"Good hotel...but the restaurant needs to buck up!"
2nd February 2012, pompeypauloHants, Hants
We stayed here a few times and were pleased with it. Its good for vlaue/location in London. My two compliants would be: the restaurant kitchen needs to improve significantly. The waiting staff were excellent, polite & professional, but the standard of the bistro style food can be erratic and nowhere near the quality you'd find in a French equivalent. I do object to being charged for WiFi. It's a rip off and you should avoid.
"good value good service good hotel"
30th January 2012, Huntingdon, United Kingdom
Very good location on the doorstep of underground. good local restraunts - Indian with Brick lane. Colour and quality in the area provided you want character and something different. Building renovations on going but unless you are in bed during the day should not effect you.
"Basic but clean bed factory"
16th January 2012, TillerSlave, West Midlands
A bit soul less, large hotel on the edge of the city. A bit noisy, food OK, staff were efficient rather than friendly.Breakfast was acceptable but a bit like eating in a cafeteria.Plenty of cheap asian restaurants nearby, and handy for the tube.
"Good Location, Decent Value, Great Restaurant"
15th January 2012, Birmingham, United Kingdom
I was fairly happy with the hotel overall. It served it's purpose, was conveniently located and reasonably priced. We had a great dinner in the restaurant. My only criticisms -- the bed wasn't very comfortable and no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom...which should really be standard.
