Definitely recommend this hotel for price, cleanliness, size of rooms and location to tube network. It was also very quiet as little to no noise was heard from neighboring rooms or the corridors. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. The service in the bar was ok but very slow. All in all 4/5 stars from us.View management response »
Management responseDear Guest,Thank you for staying at ibis London City Hotel and I am delighted about positive comments about room cleanliness, size and the hotel location. Please do accept my sincere apologies however, for the issue you encountered at the bar and for the fact that the service was slow. I would like to reassure you that I shall follow up on this issue. Feedback is very important to me in order to follow up on any shortfalls so thank you for that!Ibis is committed to delivering the highest standards possible to guests and I hope we have the opportunity of welcoming you back to Ibis London City so that my team and I can demonstrate that to you.Kind Regards,Irena HochHuman Resources & Administration Coordinator
"Ibis Hotel central London"
10th September 2013, manrow, Devon
It lived up to what it says on the tin!It was VERY satisfactory, and I am not being derogatory as it is basic but VERY comfortable, so what else do you want?I don't need a big room that is a waste as I only sleep in the room since here on business.Location superb for my purposes, very near a tube station, and my intended point of working!Breakfast was like everything else basic, but I object to paying more for very little extra.Value is marginal, but this is central London, so the excessive price is unfortunately inevitable.View management response »

"A cost efficient alternative in the city distrcited"
10th September 2013, Hjalmar_1971, Kerns, Switzerland
When I chose the hotel for my last stay in London, I really wanted to be in walking distance to my meetings in the City and at the same time stay within a reasonable budget. With the IBIS London City I found a no-frills place, with polite service and clean rooms. Full English breakfast was available for about 5 pounds and even when leaving at 5am to catch my flight a small continental buffet was available. Really liked the beds, mattress and pillow of being very comfortable. Free WiFi in all over the hotel allowed smooth working through mail mailbox. By the way, The French Restaurant on the ground floor is actually of pretty good qualtiy and reasonably priced, too.View management response »

"Great budget hotel"
5th September 2013, Kev356, Diss, United Kingdom
Had a weekend in London to see a show and to do a bit of sightseeing as we were not going to spend alot of time at the hotel didn't want to spend a fortune so this hotel was just the job! Location was great tube station 2 minutes walk away and the tower of london was about a 10 minute walk away, room was very clean, can't comment on food as we didn't eat there, even though our room over looked the road their wasn't too much noise and had no problems sleeping, would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.View management response »

"Great for the price!"
4th September 2013, Liam L
For a budget hotel I couldn't have asked for more. The staff were friendly, the room was nice and clean with all necessary amenities (tea/coffee, hairdryer, shampoo, TV), and it was in a great location just 30 seconds away from a Tube station in Zone 1.View management response »

"Great hotel for the price"
4th September 2013, wfellows, Walsall, United Kingdom
Good location for seeing the sites of london, a few minutes walk from nearest tube station (Aldgate East) and about 10 mins walk to The Tower of London, Tower Bridge etc. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance.Stayed here with my husband and 6 year old daughter - room was very clean, quiet and although not very spacious it was adequate. Staff were friendly. We didn't eat in the hotel and therefore cannot comment, but there is a french restaurant attached to the hotel plus a bar offering snacks etc.View management response »

"Good value for money hotel centrally located"
18th August 2013, Akkermans, Brussels, Belgium
The hotel is very well located near the Aldgate and Aldgate East Tube stations. It is a classic ibis, which basically look the same everywhere you go. Clean rooms, but generally a bit warm at night and opening a window brings in a lot of noise as there are construction works undertaken all round the hotel. With the window closed the noise was pretty much gone.Service reasonably ok. Friendly staff.View management response »

This hotel is definitively among our preferred options in London. It is conveniently located a few meters from the tube (Aldgate East) and stays at walking distance from places like the Old Spitafields Market and the Liverpool Street Station. Its restaurant functions as a bar until late in the evening so you can always grab a cappuccino before heading to bed. Good value.View management response »

"Enjoyed my stay"
1st August 2013, Steve M, London
Picked up a night at this Ibis in their sale for £62 and was very pleased with the location - on top of Aldgate East tube, proximity to city, good, clean room, quiet with a much better than expected French style restaurant on site - excellent service. A little slow on check in but a minor grip for a good value stay.View management response »

Friendly, helpful staff, Good location @ Aldwich Tube Station about a 4min walk tothe Tower of London and 10mins to St Pauls in the City. If you want a good curry Brick Lane is a 5 min Walk towards Whitechapel. We walked from Euston via Covent Garden to the Hotel along the Thames it was a beautiful day and a shame to waste it on the Underground - plus a good excuse to have a few beers on the way.Would definitely us this Hotel again for its locationView management response »

"Affordable lLndon Accommodation"
1st August 2013, Pippin3085, Melbourne, Australia
I selected this hotel a it was close to St Pancras station. As it was we had a tube ride there anyway but no station changes. Aldgate East was only 100 metres from the hotel.Travel into the tourist area was a tube ride away but was walkable also. 30 mins walk.Close to markets and dining, both sides of the river. Close to Tower Bridge. We had a long room with plenty of room. Air-conditioning which was needed as heatwave at the time. Good breakfast choices. I would stay there again.View management response »
