"Parking Charges !"

HiAs ever with Ibis you get what you get, nice clean / modern room and a nice hotel however whenever you stay in one of their city centre locations they sting you for parking big time, this one was/is 14 Euro's to park for 24 hours which is very expensive, it always takes the edge off of what otherwise was a pleasant stay ...

When we travel throughout Europe on business we often choose to stay with budget hotel chain Accor Ibis. The price is good, the rooms meet our requirements and the service is consistently good ... well that is until this time. When we returned to our room on the second night we found the room had not been cleaned; the bed was unmade and the trash had not been removed. Disappointing for a chain that is usually so reliable.

This hotel had the best room we stayed in with the Ibis chain in Europe ; there was plenty of room for the 3 of us - quite spacious. The staff were helpful and very courteous. The local Rosegarden was a hit with our 6 year old, as it had a great playground for kids ; together with a great indoor/outdoor restaurant/cafe for the adults - the view of the old town of Bern was sensational.It's a city and hotel we'd like to get back to in the future.

A block shared by Ibis and two other Accor brands at differing price levels, the Ibis suffered only slightly from the absence of a restaurant (one is available within the block and there are local restaurants nearby) but rather more by the distance from the train station. If one arrives by train, the #9 tram service to Park-strasse is cheap, quick and regular and arrives outside the main train station. We would definitely stay there again.

The carpet in the room was old and dirty with stains on it. Overall cleanliness and comfort were so and so. Breakfast buffet was very nice, except the coffee which was from a machine and downright awful. There was also a shortage of parking space, which you had to pay extra for btw. Overall the stay was satisfactory when you take into account the hotel is one of the cheapest in Bern. Basically you get what you pay for.

Perhaps a bit of a way out from the centre of Bern, however this was not a problem to us as we enjoy walking! The no.9 Bus stops directly outside the Hotel and will get you to the Station/City Centre in about 12-15 minutes. Excellent Breakfast!

The room was very clean & the hotel clerks were helpful and friendly. Compared to the Ibis Hotel in Lyon, France, the room price was a bit high and the beds were liiterally a piece of 4" foam on a board. Also, the breakfast in Lyon was significantly better and cost about 20% less. If I were to visit Bern again, I would only consider this hotel at a lower price. More likely, I would look for another option.

This hotel is a short tram ride from the main station with the stop located just across the road. We were greeted by friendly, efficient staff and our bedroom and bathroom were both clean and well maintained during our stay.

great place to stay if you want to be near the Stade de Suisse or the BEA exhibition centre; also on tram line No.9 which brings you straight into the heart of town within a few minutes. Comfort and quiet but no 'frills'.
