"Lovely but too hot!"
12th May 2012, EcoMog, Knighton, United Kingdom
We needed somewhere to stay overnight between arriving in Brussels on Eurostar and catching out train the following morning on to Bavaria so this hotel was perfect as it is accross the road from Gare du Midi (there the Eurostar arrives and our onward train departs). We arrived in time to spend the afternoon explorin Brussels city centre which is a bit of a walk from the hotel but easily doable. The room was perfect for our small family (my husband and I and our 2.5 year old). A double bed plus a single plus room around them! My only complaint is that our room was far too hot (around 25 degrees c). Despite reluctantly turning on the a/c we still could not get the temperature down by more than a degree or two. So it was too hot for us. This is a shame as the hotel appears to have an excellent environmental policy which is followed up by clear action. However if you like your bedroom to be very warm then it shouldnot be a problem.
"A good place to stay near the Gare du Midi"
10th May 2012, Graham468, London, United Kingdom
Service was generally efficient and the room was very good and spacious. The hotel benefits greatly from the very recent renovation - as everything is new. Excellent cleanliness. Very well located for Gare du Midi and its transport connections. About 1.3 kms from the city centre however.I found the 'locker' system for left luggage disappointing. Making a room available would be better. Facilities and breakfast matched the standard for Ibis hotels.

Couldnt fault the hotel - location perfect, good nights sleep, breakfast was nice - good selection. Wasn't too impressed with one of the bar tenders who thought he would take his own tip when bringing our drinks order and change for the drinks.Overall very good
"High price, poor service"
1st May 2012, Sleeplessindumidi, Exloo, The Netherlands
The hotel is close to Du Midi station. Checking in took more than 20 minutes (even though there was no queue), the air conditioning in our two rooms was not working, the mattress did not fit the bed and in one of the rooms the bathroom door did not close. The restaurant is in the lobby and the smell of frying fast food is the first thing to greet you.We complained, only to be 'barked' at for doing so. I sent an email to the manager and I am still waiting for a reply. So my advice would be: if you want to sleep well in a warm, well-kept and friendly hotel, then skip this one
"hotel is ok!"

I had not much time to enjoy the room - was busy with more important things to do. I chose this hotel because of better price and I am happy with my choice!
"Brussels Trip # 8"

Good setup and location. Excellent Service. Better Matresses maybe a good choise since the ones in the room are not comfortable enough for a tired visitor. Plastic water glasses not liked...
"Mixed service"

The quality of myh stay was not helped by the fact that public transport in Brussels was on strike and tha fact that over the Easter weekend one of the two lifts was permanently out of action. I have stopped at this hotel many times and always found it quite good. However, tghis time I noticed problems. Firstl,y serv ice in the Bar/Restaurant was usually Excellent with two regulars running this very effieciently. However later on the rar/restaurant was in the hands of a totally ineffiecient and offensive person. It took 20 minutes to get a drink even though the bar was quiet. The lady in question ignoring customers in favour of a group of her friends at the bar. SWhen I eventually obtained her attentikon and ordered a drink, there was no polite response from her and I wqas just given the bottle. I had to point out to her where the glass was. Ordering a second drink I was again victim of her inefficient and lack of politeness. I then complained to a person who said he was trainee manager. The situation was dealt with in an inappropriate manner by hbim and the individual concedrned kept withdrawing into the kitchen where on several occasions she scrfeemed at the top of her voice. This is hardly the impression any hotel should give. When I came to depart, having already settled my account, the receptionist said I owed another amount for breakfast. She was adamant about this and eventually the situation was resolved by the arrival of her superior who printed off the entire account showing that all had in fact been paid for. The whole sad incident last over 15 minutes.

"Spacious and Clean"

Very large room for an Ibis brand hotel. Very handy for Brussells Midi station making it convienient for a stopover if arriving or leaving by Eurostar trains.

Very convenient for Brussels Midi station, clean, reasonably priced if you book early. Will definately stay there again.
"A night in the Ibis at the Gare du Midi in Brussels"
2nd April 2012, Poole, United Kingdom
This hotel has a good location being across the street from the station so convenient for the International trains and local train from the airport, plus the Metro. The restaurant area around the Grand Place is about 20 minutes walk. Skip the hotel breakfast at €14 and go to a cafe in the station to get a Croisant, pastry and coffee for about €3.
"Perfect for its class"
12th March 2012, Riga, Latvia
My only negative remarks are (and this will help to understand my positive evaluation) quite high average price level fo Ibis - but this is specifity of Brussels usually busy season, not the particular hotel and do not coauses problems for me as busines traveller, but maybe sometimes, if I decide to stay privately - but once again - it's for Brussels in general. Another deficiency - after reconstruction there are no mo railway pictures in the breakfast room (as a railway related person I liked thenm very much). Otherwise - good location if You need station nearby and a recent nice surprise - free WiFi .
"room service"
7th March 2012, Tbilisi, Georgia
it will be beeter if room service will be more sutable for trevelers . I trevel more then years good location and this hotel become very good condition. To make free WI-Fi is good decision, but again to you must put room service on hi level.
"Good for budget hotel close to Brussels Midi/South Station"
5th February 2012, Bromley, United Kingdom
Good location if you need quick access to Brussels Midi/South station - area immediately around the hotel is a little bit grubby. Hotel is fine - in line with normal Ibis standards for rooms, restaurant, room rates etc. Hotel security/ability to keep some of the local street life out is good.
"Ibis hotel Brussels"
26th January 2012, London
This is a good clean hotel with decent sized rooms. It is very close to the station but also in walking distance to the city center. The staff were friendly and helpful when checking in other than that I did not need to engage with them again. This Ibis hotel is very much the same as their other hotels across Europe. I would recommend them and definitely stay there again.
"Good location ,poor service in restaurant ,bedding needs washing in fabric softener"
14th January 2012, JANETDENISE, Manchester, United Kingdom
Good location, next to the main station for Eurostar and trains to Germany,Holland,Belgium.Luxemburg.Three steps to enter reception make this hotel inaccessible, you try lifting luggage up them. There is a wheelchair lift which is blocked.Very unhelpful.Reception welcoming, all catering staff rude, unhelpful.Food in restaurant top price good quality but who wants crap service with their meal.Took 10 minutes and a change of table for us to be noticed.Breakfast was the lowlight of the stay.Very little food out, staff reluctant to replace or help.Dire value 10 Euro is 9 euro too much.If you have a disability the chance of gettinh help is virtually nil.I am registered partially sighted and had great difficulty getting help.A couldn't care less ignorant arttitude.Bedding is hard they need to get some fabric softener.
"Good location"
12th January 2012, Leeds, United Kingdom
Was very satisfactory except on the 2nd day the room was not cleaned or stocked with linen by 430 pm. It took 2 phone calls an hour apart for the towels to be replaced. Very close to the eurostar terminal at midi
