This hotel is across the road from Gare Du Midi (ie the Eurostar Terminal) in an area that looks "run down" but the convenience to the station for the transit systems and for us a 30 minute walk to Grand Place along with a lower price than the City centre hotels made this Ibis hotel ideal. The hotel itself was clean and new looking, had good service, good breakfast and a good bar/restaurant.

"Excellent siting, check on service"

Very well sited, but if you want even a beer, check you have deposited a credit card on check in. With prepaid, they often forget to do this, which can lead to unpleasantness. Some staff are excellent: others less so. nevertheñess the front dewsk is continupusly manned for early or late arrival

"IBIS In Brussels is Super!"

I stayed 3 nights at IBIS Brussels Centre Gare Midi - just across the road from the Eurostar Terminal - 2 hours from London - this Hotel is ideally located for Brussels and trips to other centres in Belgium and beyond. Clean - quiet - a haven after a busy day of business and sight-seeing. The centre of Brussels is easily accessible via Metro - but its only 15-20 minutes walk to the Grand Grotte anyway. Friendly and helpful staff - excellent breakfast too!

location of hotel is very good. just right across the Eurostar train station and all other public transports. staff are very friendly and helpful. even if you were the first time traveller to the city, they give helpful advices. also the room is spacious and i have been to a few ibis hotels in Asia and Europe which their rooms are JUST can fit in myself and an extra luggage.

Location was good for station, but needed to catch the underground to find a location with a good selction of places to eat. If you need to catch a train or get back to the airport, a good place to stay.

I've been staying at Ibis hotels in different countries since 1989. Good quality, helpful staff, fast check in and check out. Gare du Midi is a very good location for passengers traveling from/to BRU airport.

A very good place to stay, comfortable room, and very conveniently located close to the Midi station. The only thing I could have used would have been an electric kettle in the room to make coffee on arrival.

"Excellent location for Gare du Midi"

Excellent location less than 100 metres from Gare du Midi - family room just 49 euro on Friday evening, good sized room, we all slept very well. Room was clean and comfortable, just what we needed coming in from London on a late Eurostar before heading off towards Germany by train the next day. Free Wifi a real bonus. Breakfast expensive at 14E per adult, plenty of cheap eateries nearby. Also an easy 15-20 minute walk to the Grand Place. Highly recommended if you need a good value place to stay near Gare du Midi.

"Avoid like the plague"

This hotel is a dumpster. It is a red stain on the Ibis trademark. The staff is the only part that is worth saving. The location is a war zone - I was advised by the staff not to walk around that dreadful place. Ibis now doesn't give you soap or shampoo - this is a new low, even for budget travel. Breakfast was over before I even got there - 30min before it closed, naturally...

Service efficient and unobtrusive. The rooms are generous and larger than many Ibis rooms I've experienced. They also benefit from the recent refurbishment which is wearing well. Location is very good if you're happy to be out of the centre of Brussels. The transport connections make it easy to get to anywhere in the city (e.g. an entrance to the Gare du Midi Metro station only a few yards from the hotel entrance). Liked the value for money best. Least interesting was the restaurant which seemed very limited. The bar attracts some interesting characters later at night...

"Excellent hotel for Eurostar"

The second time we have stayed here - it is an excellent hotel if you are using Eurostar to enjoy Brussels's bars and beers, providing a good standard of rooms and service, with very competent staff (in the main ... see below). It is very close to Midi station, so gives excellent transport links to everywhere (and there is even a Metro entrance behind the hotel if you want to avoid the rain!). With Ibis you get what you expect, which is fine if you don't want to spend all day in your hotel room - and why should you with so much excellent beer so close to you? There are several good bars sufficiently close for walking back after late drinking and you can leave your luggage at the hotel on your last day, with a 10 minute walk to Eurostar reception when you are ready.Our only disappointment was one barman, who thought he was the flamboyant star of "Cocktail", but you DON'T throw bottles of sedimented Belgian beer in the air before pouring - especially disappointing when Belgium Ibis are, quite rightly, making a point of promoting Belgian beers.

Excellent service; nothing was too much trouble in the Hotel. I was hovever not impressed with the bar - no beer prices dislayed & I didn't like the atmosphere. Hotel was chosen by me for very good location, I would recommend to business and private travellers alike.

We are not fussy and don't mind being amongst it. We never felt that our safety was threatened. Yep .... There are some people who hang around the station but this is no different from any other major station we have ever been around. We arrived and left by train and loved the convenience. The 1.2 kilometres to the town centre was an easy walk. We went to Brugge for a day and could catch the train from across the road. The room was big by European and Ibis standards. This was our 5th Ibis in Europe and we loved them all, but this one surpassed all of them with the offerings at breakfast. What a feast for a great value for money hotel. Hot and cold dishes, real Belgian offerings as well as my beloved baked beans. We loved the beer menu in the bar which was relaxing, well serviced and a nice place to unwind after a day of sight seeing. The staff were amazing, contrary to other reviews here, including at the front desk. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. Loved it!
