"A Good Hotel"

This was the third time we've stayed at this hotel. We chose it because it is very close to Brussels Midi railway station and we were starting and ending European tours by train from here via the Eurostar link from London. A big plus for us was that you can get a smoking room, and the cleaning is so good you can't tell that others have smoked before you in the room when you first walk in.All the rooms we've had have been spacious, with flat screen TV with channels in English including BBC1, and nice modern bathrooms with a good shower and soaps provided. There's no fridge or kettle but if you want drinks you can get them from the 24-hr cafe-bar on the ground floor. There are plug points available in the room if you bring your own kettle. The rooms are air-conditioned but the system is not very effective so in summer months you really need to open the window at night. Unfortunately if you get a street-view room it's incredibly noisy with the window open, what with all the trains, buses, trams and other traffic all very close to the hotel. With the windows closed you can hardly hear the traffic. I'd advise asking for a courtyard view.The entrance lobby is airy, modern, bustling and welcoming, the staff are pleasant, and you can get a fairly basic but perfectly good meal at a reasonable price at the cafe-bar on the same level as reception. The breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice.All in all I would recommend this hotel as a really convenient transit stop and good value for money.

Very comfortable and spacious rooms, spotless, good shower room, excellent beds. Efficient lifts. Perfectly placed for the main (Midi) station. Easy to get to Grand Place by train (to Brussels Central) if you want to. Ibis evening food limited and not sampled, but has an extensive range of Belgian beers in bottle - well worth trying some. Breakfast options extensive and varied, but I found their layout a little confusing.

Like many best sited hotels, they are expensive and not really value for money.the location is perfect for Eurostar departures.One might have thought there would be coffee/tea making facilitiesand a clock in the room charging Euros 155 per night withoutbreakfast included, "no" there was not.
"You know what your getting with Ibis"

I generally stay at an Ibis when on business in Brussels - you know what your getting and they are value for money. The one at Midi is very convenient when arriving late in the evening off Eurostar and check-in is always quick and easy. I like the breakfasts as they make a change from the full English!
"It's close to the station, but...."

It's close to Midi station and easy to get to, but overpriced compared to some of the other hotels in the area and had no hot water at 9am. I'd only stay again if leaving Mid station very early or arriving very late and the cheaper hotels did not have availability.

Had 2 nights at this hotel.Reception staff were friendly and helpful.Breakfast was pretty good, with a good selection of bakery, cereals and hots.Good location, next to the railway station, Gare Midi. A bit apprehensive at first with the location but after walking around it was fine. Subway is just next to the hotel.View management response »

"I was disappointed"

I have stayed in Ibis Brussels for 6 days. However, I was disappointed for a few things. First, there was no free luggage store in the hotel. I had to pay for the locker which is in fact located inside the hotel for placing my luggage for only a few hours. Second, the hotel is located close to Brussel Gare de Midi. It is a big advantage for its location convenience. Yet, many unknown strangers stood outside the front door of hotel day and night. They made me feel unsafe as the strangers dared at everybody who went in or out! Third, the facilities should be improved, at least with cups, not paper one, boiler, hair dryer inside the room.View management response »

Location very convenient for the Midi train station, which is where the Eurostar, Thalys trains stop. There is also a metro under the station to easily get into the centre of the city in less than 5 minutes. The rooms were large with a two beds and plenty of space to spread out. The double glazing on the windows worked very well as did the curtains to block out the light.View management response »
