Breakfast NOT value for money. $20 would be a fair value for the full Breakfast and $12 for the Continental
"Auckland Trip"
9th May 2012, tony2101-01, Whangarei, New Zealand
I only arrived late and left very early, the service at the desk was very good, quick as I stay often, the room was clean and tidy, all was very good. The price was slightly more than I normally pay as it was a very late reservation but all very good indeed.
"Typical Novotel"
27th April 2012, Rotorua, New Zealand
Fridge in our room didn't go.Bed was too soft and not supportive enough for my lower back problem, my wife also found them too soft.Room was clean and tidy, and service was good.
"Pleasant Stay"
25th April 2012, BBQRanch, Whakatane, New Zealand
We recently spent a night at the Novotel Ellerslie in Auckland. The staff and service were very good and as you would expect from a hotel of this quality.
"Overpriced"
25th April 2012, rikynmaddi, whakatane
Felt the hotel was very overpriced. Although we booked the room for 4 guests we were only give 3 towels and 2 cups. Mini bar was not well stocked and no price list available. No phone book or local information guides in room. Room noisy at night due to airconditioning vent. Restaurant overpriced for quality of meal received.

"Our business stay."
22nd April 2012, Liz501, Whangamata, New Zealand
We use this hotel often as it is very handy to the places we need to go to. The rooms are nice and spacious and the beds comfortable. The service is very good and the retaurant food is good although we always find the restaurant cold.

"Great service everything else pretty poor!"
3rd April 2012, Auckland Central, New Zealand
The hotel is in need of a make over! The rooms are in need of a spruce up as they are Old and tired looking. Food was average but service was great! Most of the staff were friendly and helpful especially the housekeeping staff. I would not go back for leisure but do attend a number of conferences there so have no choice. Overall a 5/10
"Room charges"
29th March 2012, Tauranga
I checked the room rates.Wednesday and Thursday for accomodation to book one free night and pay for other and as my husband was unwell we decided to book Friday morning if he was feeling better.I could not believe it the free room was ok but the sat.night had gone up from $127.to over $200.Being an ADVANTAGE PLUS MEMBER we were quite dissappointed.

Comfortable stay- meals a bit pricie.... TV a nighmare to get to work... but once figured it was cumbersome but managable.
"Hotel Review"
22nd March 2012, Palmerston North, New Zealand
The room only had 3 towels when there were 4 guests. The free computers and internet usage in the loby along with the free carparking were great. Would definitely stay here again.

"Friendly Service"
19th March 2012, Cairns
My husband had a one night stay in this hotel as we were transitting . staff were very helpful albeit busy as that day the Auckland Cup was being held at the races next door and although we could not eat in the dining room the bar offered a menu which was more than adequate to our needs . we would certainly use this hotel again
"Happy Stay"
19th March 2012, Gisborne, New Zealand
I found the staff at check in very curteous and the staff in the restaurant and bar were polite and efficient. The room was clean and well stocked. Parking was at a premium but staff were happy to offer alternative options which were secure and close by.

"Good for the price"
17th March 2012
A good, tidy middle of the road 4 star hotel. Nothing special but fine for what you pay for. Breakfast buffet had a good selection and staff were friendly. Parking spaces were tight with not much room between. Gym had all you needed for a good workout and was reasonably modern. Was a little bit difficult to find with GPS using the address - make sure you use a high number rather than the start of the sequence (e.g. from memory it was number 72 to 112 or something - recommend putting in 100 or higher to get to the correct turn off).
"Spilt wine"
17th March 2012, Hamilton, New Zealand
Everything was fine. The only incident we had was when a waitress spilt a bottle of water and a glass of red wine on us at dinner. We did not hold this against her, and staff did offer to dry clean our clothes . They were very appologetic etc but thought it was a bit rough when the waitress explained that she didnt charge for the water.I dont expect freebees, but did think a free glass of wine could have been in order! (especially as I felt we were very patient and did not take up offers of drycleaning and chose to wash our own clothes!)
"Great place to stay"
15th March 2012, Christchurch, New Zealand
Great service - was able to check in early as there was a room available and that was no problem. Difficult to find a car park when I got back from the wedding I'd been too late on Saturday night. The "other" car park area available did not have clear signage.
"Great place to stay"
13th March 2012, Cambridge, New Zealand
Beds are huge - everything was just as you would expect - large rooms, bathroom a bit small but you don't spend too much time in there.
"We slept well"
5th March 2012, PaulVinall, Leeds (UK)
We arrived at this hotel immediately after 28 hours on the plane from the UK. The receptionist was exceedingly kind and decoded my incoherent ramblings with surprising facility. I think we arrived at about 1530 local. We were offered help to get our substantial suitcases to our room. I fell into bed at about 1630 - only half undressed. My wife did what ladies do, and then similarly crashed out at about 1800. We both slept the sleep of the seriously jet-lagged, and awoke at 0900 the following morning - feeling half human once more. The room seemed very clean, and the bed must have been superlatively comfortable for I have no memory of it and yet slept for 16 and a half hours without waking. We had no opportunity to sample the hotel's catering facilities - as we had then to repack and set off in the car to get to Paihia before evening. We had no complaints at all - but I cannot remember any more detail than I've described above.

"excellent"
2nd March 2012, Hastings, New Zealand
Friendly welcome food was wonderful. I like the room and had a great sleep. Breakfast was a great selection made it hard for me to choose. The location was great and quiet. Will be staying again when next in Auckland.
"Convenient hotel for business traveler"
28th February 2012, Singapore, Singapore
Overall it was a good experience, only the internet charges are way too high. Should look into package deals with unlimited use. Nowadays, business travelers are using the internet a lot more (emails, Voip, etc). The food is great and the service at the restaurant friendly.
"Ideal business Hotel"
27th February 2012, Christchurch, New Zealand
Novotel Ellerslie is conveniently located if you have business in the industrial heart of Auckland and being near the motorway makes it easy to get to the Airport, CBD, etc. The rooms are a good size and well appointed in euro/modern decor. It is very quiet despite being close to the motorway. The restaurant was a little overpriced for what was on offer and the buffet was a little bland. Parking arrangements arent the best. If you come in late you have to park off the Hotel grounds which would be a worry for single female travellers.I'd be pleased to saty there again but only if I could get the discounted rate I managed to get, otherwise I would either go cheaper at the Ibis or Mercure in town.
"Novotel Ellerslie Auckland New Zealand"
27th February 2012, Barnoldswick, United Kingdom
A nice room, comfortable and spacious.Guidance on setting the Air Con system would have been helpful.Bathroom cleaned thoroughly every day.If going late for breakfast some of the food had been cooked for some time and also was no longer hot.

"Resturant"
9th February 2012, Perth, Australia
Have stayed at the Novotel Ellerslie for several years now and find the Hotel pleasing but unfortunatly find the Resturant very disappointing both food and service wise. This is a area we comment on every year and this year we chose to eat all our meals away from the hotel with all our friends that were also booked to stay
