"entertaining overseas guest"

AS this was the first visit to not only australia-and to the best state-it was a "no brainer" to bring the lovely lady to the barossa and the novotel, for a romantic week-end. Autumn in the "valley' is truly wonderful and my guest was so impressed with the area, and yet being so close to the city
"Disappointed"
10th May 2012, syneySydney, Sydney
I was pretty disappointed in this property. I didn't have much time to study the B&B options, but really wish I had done so. to stay in such a soleless property when there are so many lovely boutique hotels was a real shame. The foyer is cold, the grounds unkempt and the bathtub was very mouldy. Web advertising builds a picture of luxury boasting Evian water, Aveda products and fluffy bath robes. The water was Fiji water (nothing wrong with that, the bathroom products were not Aveda (and were not relenished during the room cleaning) and the robes were like cardboard. Although I would not normally expect luxury from a Novotel, I went with pretty high expectations having read the information on the web, perhaps if they didn't talk it up so much I would not have been so disappointed.
"A Great Place to Stay"
10th May 2012, TerrificTess, Perth, Australia
We stayed in a studio room overlooking the hills - so beautiful and well located in the Barossa. The pool area was in top condition and my husband enjoyed an invigorating swim late in the day after generous wine tasting in the Barossa. We went for a stroll alongside the golf course and as we were leaving, wished our stay could have been extended to explore the property further. We felt Harry's Restaurant was over-rated and would strongly recommend BYO as wine mark-up is in the vicinity of 300%. We'll stay at Novotel Barossa again for sure!
"A very pleasant base for the Varossa Valley"
5th May 2012, seule, Adelaide, Australia
I haven't stayed in the hotel for several years. It remains an excellent base for a Barossa visit, and the original design, with rooms and balconies overlooking the valley, is great. The refurbished room was excellent, service was uniformly good, and the food in the restaurant has improved significantly. It now compares well with other good restaurants in the district. Only very minor comments - limited amenities in the bathroom, and all pillows felt like feather (are they?) - a problem if one is allergic.
"Golf and Wine at its best!!"
1st May 2012
In the heart of one of the best wine regions in SA and the world, and next too a fantastic world class Golf course is this resort.Excellent clean rooms with a view over the Valley and vineyards... great place to relax, or base to experience the Barossa.
"Wine Tasting Experience"
1st May 2012, jh2360, Sydney, Australia
I have stayed on a previous occasion and found the change in the room layout which was not as good as previous,I liked the previous kitchen with hot plates, but I can understand why they have been removed.Service is always A1 the breakfast staff were so pleasant and helpfull. The wine tasting at 5-00 was very popular and informative. My wife always loves the bath,I hate the bath shower combination prefer sepparate shower. The location is just awesome, waking up each morning with the view. Plus the golf course near by.I noted that the electrical cable testing is 12 months overdue in my room plus other locations,I had reported this to reception.Internet should be free in the room, most motels I have travelled are free. The sliding doors are extremely noisy, especially early morning when the smokers go outside before 6-00am. This would be a difficult fix, other than having a smoke free area for apartments. The $10 voucher is a great idea, for not having the room serviced.

"accomodation & breakfast"

all good. The accommodation was great and the buffet breakfast was simply outstanding. The road which entered the resort was unsealed, this was the only fault.I would recommend the novotel barossa valley resort to everyone.
"Great resort but whats with the cardboard boxes for room service?"
30th April 2012, happytraveller50_12, Adelaide, Australia
The Novotel Barossa is a clean well run resort and we would definately reccommend it to anyone visiting the Barossa. The one thing that I don't understand is that if you order room service it arrives in what is claimed to be an envrionmentally friendly disposable box. The food was barely lukewarm and disappointing. Surely a warmed plate and a thermal cover (both resusable) would keep the food warmer, make it more appealing and be more environmentally friendly. Also when I stay in a hotel I don't expect to be presented with food in packaging you would get at Mc Donalds. Avoid room service and you won't be disappointed.
"Great place to stay"

This a top spot, we have a very enjoyable stay. Staff and service were great. We had dinner and buffet breakfast in the restaurant, both were great.
"The Novotel, Barossa"

My wife and I have stayed a number of times at the Novotel, Barossa. Each time we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The standard of the room has again been excellent. The desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The outlook from the room is very special indeed.
"A Lovely Weekend"
26th April 2012
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room that I booked was excellent. The heated pool was great and the facilities of the hotel were very good. The hotel was located just a short drive from some of the fabulous wineries of the Barossa Valley.

"Barossa Novotel 20/4-22/4"
26th April 2012, Stu_bie83, Adelaide, Australia
Check in staff fantastic, Katharine was amazing her smiling and can do attitude made it a pleasure dealing with her. Room service the first night was an average burger although the size of the meal was excellent value for money. Ordered wine with my meal and the price on docket was $17 more and the poor delivery girl had no idea what to do. Breakfast in the morning was of poor qualitiy for the price, thank goodness I didnt pay full price for it, service safe were friendly and accomodating during their busy period. Dinner service was quick and friendly, had the Signature Duck/Pork Belly main. The duck was amzaing in texture and taste the small square of pork belly was dry and lacked any flavour. Pillow menu in the rooms was great as the feather pillows provided were lifeless. Shower in the bathroom was more of a hazard then an enjopyment, not matter which way you turned water still covered the bathroom making any bathmat wet before you needed to get out and use it. The spa was a small pleasure after once again soaking the bathroom although I think that was more of an operators issue. The room looked like it had been converted from an older apartment style room and lacked the refinement that I have become accustomed too from Novotel and the Accor group.
"Nice trip"
25th April 2012, Juiana, Brisbane, Australia
Position and facility is good. Rooms could do with an upgrade to keep up with the Novotel standard. Room service food was disappointing, served in cardboard boxes, we had to send the lambshank back, $32 was overpriced for the meal that was delivered. Staff were friendly and efficient.
"A great location to stay in the Barossa"
25th April 2012, kevbay, Fremantle, Australia
The location is really superb we have stayed ther now on 6 occasions and the scenery is just spectacular and different in each season. The night we arrived we ate at the restaurant, Kathreen I think her name was, was terrific, she really made the night a great eating experience and her knowledge of wines was superb. We stayed in a standard room and they are excellent for 2 people, the beds are just so good to sleep in. The only negative a would have was the bathroom /shower, mould is starting to form under the selastic and should be removed. The location as mentioned is great, quite central, minutes from Tanunda and surrounded by wineries, if you like golf, its onsite. In the evenings between 5 -6 they even have free wine tastings, great if you like to experience the region. There is nothing that I don't like about this location, at $220+ per night its not cheap though
"overall nice and pleasant"
24th April 2012
Barossa Valley Resort is in very nice location. Has GOOD, well trained staff to welcome and make visitors stay very pleasant.Well looked after swimming pool and surrounding aria with choice of an activities makes it even more attractive for familiesRestaurant NEEDS staff that is good with their customer service and mathematics.NOT to TIP them self by over charging (3 NIGHTS ON THE ROW) Will consider alternative location/ venue for next time dining.
"Refreshing"
23rd April 2012, kpa290, Melbourne, Australia
We booked our accomodation whilst on the road so had no idea what type of place we were going to and hoped for the best. We were very pleasantly surprised. What a beautiful environment. Peace and tranquility with views that go forever. Our experience in Harry's Restaurant was fabulous, the meals beautiful cooked to perfection. Staff were attentive and it was great to receive a visit to our table from the Chef. The staff at all levels were very obliging and always greeted us with smiles. Thank you so much for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
"A great base when staying in the Barossa"
19th April 2012, 188Lisa, Melbourne, Australia
There is no more perfrect base for a stay in the Barossa. Parking was free and close to the room, the views from all rooms was spectacular and there was heaps to do from short walks, lounging by the pool or having a drink on the balcony. Rooms were clean and comfortable, however the bathrooms are a little dated. Thoroughly recommended.
"Peaceful Stay"
18th April 2012, Kastastrophe, Adelaide, Australia
This was the second time i have stayed at the novotel barossa, and it still lives up to expectations. Lovely rooms and great views, private and quite. The staff and always helpful. The place can get busy such as on weekends and with weddings. The endota spa was a real treat!
"Very relaxing"

My spouse and I had a great time at Novotel Barossa Valley resort. It was so peaceful nestled amongst the trees and vineyards. I would recommend the resort to anyone looking for some peace and quiet.
"Very enjoyable"

Had a great time, any requests were fulfilled straight away. Great buffet breakfast and location is just so quiet. Love the they still have facilities to cater for children and keep them occupied.
"Perfect Location"
13th April 2012, Stu8100, Sydney, Australia
Perfect location to stay at while exploring the Barossa valley - great service and very cumfy bed. - site map provided to find the room was not as accurate as I would have liked
"Great family stay"
12th April 2012, Adelaide, Australia
This hotel was clean and spacious, fitted with kitchenette. Very limited utensils though, a sharp knife would have been useful. Staff were quick to replace the hairdryer that didnt work, much appreciated. Presentation was very plain for the price, very few extras. The children enjoyed the easter hunt.
"Great Location, good service but overpriced"
11th April 2012, Joymichelle
This is a lovely venue for a relaxing break. However, the spa room that we stayed in was overpriced...nice, but we would expect more luxury touches that seemed to be missing from the room.
"Barossa Break"

Good service,Room was very comfortable and clean. Lovely location with wonderful valley views and a very nice golf course on the property.
"Exceeded my expectations"
9th April 2012, wyseman, Ashford, United Kingdom
Stayed in a two bedroom apartment during March 2012 and the apartment although smallish, was clean and well maintained. The resort itself was excellent, with a great pool and excellent restaurant. disapppointed that the gym was being refurbished and had been moved to a large hut up on the hill near the golf course, but everything else about the place exceeded my expectaions!
