In a city that purveys a construction zone in every walk, arriving or returning to the hotel was an oasis. Views are great from Garden View Rooms. Pool is great. Staff are excellent & it was great to see Natalie on Check Out. Irrespective of construction, location is convenient to train, bus & taxis / Uber, plus many a restaurant & cafe of the world nearby. I will be back.

Located just down from Chinatown's Dixon Street and across the road from the extensive Chinese Gardens, this hotel is hard to beat in its price range. Ask for a garden view room to avoid a room overlooking a redevelopment site (through 2017?). There is a nicely situated inside/outside bar and restaurant that takes advantage of Sydney's balmy evenings. Standard four star rooms feature excellent bedding.

Accidentally booked this hotel rather than the Novotel beside Darling Harbour (that'll teach me to book while drunk) but I think I would go here again rather than the bigger, more impersonal one. Friendly staff, keen to help, breakfast was fine, rooms were good. Room service options were apparently 'healthy' - seriously, when I'm ordering room service I want steaks, burgers or stodge in general, with lots of dessert options, not to be forcefed (as it were) quinoa and 'low salt, low kilojoule, low carb' rubbish. Fortunately, Darling Harbour was only a 5 minute walk away (a much longer walk back, but that's what a belly full of high salt, high kilojoule, high carb deliciousness will do for you) A good night's stay.
Hi Dreamyriver, Thank you for the wonderful review, im pleased to hear you enjoyed your overall stay with us and that the staff were friendly and attentive. In terms of in room dining, we always provide a large variety of options. While we do provide healthy choices, we also have other options such as pizzas, nachos, burgers and more. Our central location has always been a highlight being conveniently close to shops, main attractions and public transport. For guests that do want to stay close to the hotel, we also have the iconic Pumphouse bar and restaurant offering craft beers and Australian pub grub. We appreciate your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back again. Kind regards, David Sude Hotel Manager
The staff in the lobby breakfast area were excellent.. The location is very good although difficult to get to because of the orientation of the Sydney roads.Could I suggest a better how to get here guide for people driving to the hotel. The rooms could do with a refurbishment. .
Hi 750liviac Thank you for your wonderful review, we are so glad you enjoyed your overall stay with us. Our central location has always been a highlight for our guests being only steps away from the main attractions, shops and public transport. George St has been temporarily shut off for road work however there are still many routes to access the hotel such as via the main Harbour St or Goulburn st. If there are any difficulties please do not hesitate to call the hotel. We appreciate your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. Kind regards, David Sude Hotel Manager
