The hotel is very good. Need a restoration in the corridor, but the stay was excellent The hotel is in a very good location, near everything. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is great. Rooms are confortable and nice and I liked very much the appearence of the old building where the hotel is

I have the pleasure to confirm that we are going to end the renovation of corridors on march 2017. It will be a pleasure to welcome you for another stay in Lyon. Kind Regards.
Old furnitures that need some paint. Curtain was broken. Bathroom was tiny and not very modern. Small room. Breakfast area is nice and convenient. Common areas are neat and functional. Staff is polite and welcoming, however the omelet-cooking lady was a little unpleasant.

This M-gallery is really a beautiful building on the outside. The inside however looks quite dated and should be updated as soon as possible. Otherwise I am convinced this hotel will not be able to keep his clients. The service however is excellent, thank you very much.
Dear Luc, Thank you for your feedback. I feel sorry to read your comments. Please accept our apologies for not having met all your expectations. I have the pleasure to confirm that a renovation of the corridors of rooms is planned this year. I hope to have the pleasure to welcome you after the renovation. Kind Regards
We had a Superior Room with a view of Place Bellecour. The room was spacious with a Queen sized bed, desk, well- supplied minibar, a safe and a decent-sized flat screen television on a stand with a closet nearby. There was also a comfortable arm chair with a small table. The décor, done in reds with wood furniture and wall-to-wall carpet, was very warm and inviting with a beautiful French toile wallpaper behind the bed. The bathroom contained a large new shower, a separate cubicle for the toilet (love this about France) and a single sink with just enough room for a toiletries bag if not too big. Fragonard toiletries were also provided. The hotel is really well-located with several shopping streets and many restaurants on the other side of the square and an outdoor pedestrian mall right near the hotel. The shopping is wonderful in Lyon and not as expensive as Paris. The food, of course, is fabulous since Lyon is the gastronomic capital of France. An easy walk from the hotel across the bridge over the river takes you to the Saint-Jean Baptiste Cathedral and then you can walk farther and take the funicular up to the Basilica Notre-Dame de Fourvière. All around the hotel is wonderful old architecture to admire. We had Room #107 and loved it! And to top it off, the staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming.
Arrival: There was valet service for the car, although I prefer to park my own car and see where and how it was parked. We were told self parking was not possible. Check-in: The receptionist was unfriendly, when I told him we had Accor Hotel Vouchers. He said prepaid rates can't be paid with them. We did NOT have a pre-paid rate. It was not our fault that the hotel illegally took the amount fort he entire stay of 4 nights before we even arrived. In the room conditions it said: first night prepaid, rest to be paid in the hotel! He said we had to wait until the next morning, since the manager wasn’t available. Hotel premises: There were renovations going on (really necessary, because apart from the lobby, everything looked old), which means noise early in the morning. It smelled bad in the elevator and in the corridor to the room. Room: The room was small, but ok. The bathroom had a huge amount of paint coming off from the door and the toilet seat size didn't match the toilet size, so actually you were half sitting on the toilet itself. Positive: the Fragonard toiletries in the bathroom. The receptionist on check-out: we left after one night and we were happy we didnt’t have to argue to cancelt he last three nights. General opinion: This hotel is way overpriced with rates well over 200 EUR and only worth 3.5*. We would not want to stay here again. There are better options in Lyon for a lot less money.
We had a very pleasant stay in Lyon. The rooms were comfortable and quiet: our room was a bit tired, but renovations were in progress. The staff were always helpful and friendly, booking restaurants when asked. While not in the centre of the city, the location on Place Bellacour is good, close to the tourist information, good shops and fine restaurants. We were particularly pleased that the hotel reception were able to book us in to L'Institute on the night we arrived! The renovations were in hand during our stay did not cause much of a problem, and gave us an excuse to walk through the restaurant area each day and see what was going on (no issues observed!).
Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. It is a real pleasure to read that you enjoyed your stay. Please accept our apologies for the renovation of the lift. I have good news for our guest. The renovation is over. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again for your next stay in Lyon. Kind Regards Barbara CARBONNEL
The Hotel's location overlooking the Place Bellecour is perfect for exploring Lyon, and gives you a window on the world of what's happening in the Place. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the staff attentive and helpful, and the experience of dining at the restaurant world class.
