We spent one night in this hotel after having an afternoon sightseeing in Nürnberg. It was a bit far from the centre, but easy to find it and the next morning after a good and various breakfast it was also easy to join to the highway. Even if the road is really close these windows work well and we had a really good sleep. The beds and beddings are really good. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will come back to this place, sure.
We are usual customers of Ibis Budget as it's a very convenient hotel for three people family. So, the location is really the ideal also for visiting Bamberg and the Wiesenttal. So, the only Negative aspect of the hotel: Rooms stink of cigarettes even after you leave a complete day the window open. Walls, linings, bathroom....everything stinks horribly. It might be an issue for sleeping if the smell of tobacco/old grandpa' disturbs you!
Location was close to my interest, easy to find and near the highway. Electronic room check-in is prefered and unfortunately not comfortable if you are tired and you want to pay in cash. The room was clean and quiet during the night. Uncomfortable shower at least in a twin room. It is rather for couples and not for friends or colleagues... The fan from the shower was defective and the one from toilet was missing. Free parking, flat-screen TV with Wi-Fi and the duvets were nice.
What a shock! Nobody really tells you on their website what is negative with their premises but in this case they should be banned completely! The hotel is literally on the motorway, just imagine the noise throughout the night. Moreover, the vibrations were so strong that the car's alarm kept kicking in. And here comes the best bit of the story... I was asked by the concierge to move the car somewhere further from the motorway (???) which is where the car park was (and the hotel itself as I said before). Patiently I moved the car but the vibrations kept triggering the alarm. After moving it three times - every time further from the hotel's parking - the concierge had the guts to ask me to move it at least a few miles away from the hotel or maybe just consider moving to another hotel, obviously at my own expenses. I lost my patience and told him off. I have never been treated like this by anyone in a hotel in my own life! He did not know what 'customer service' meant. The room was a capsule, horribly tight and uncomfortable. The bathroom was non existing, so much so that they thought to make it better by putting a shower in a corner of the room and close it up with a glass door... Mind you, I was travelling with friends, not exactly the kind of thing you're expecting! Anyway, AVOID Ibis Budget altogether! It's a rip-off and you'll leave with such a sour taste you'll need therapy to recover...!
Room/Shower/Loo were clean. Small though - if you intend to swing a cat, ensure it's a Manx variety. The bed is biggest problem though - a sheet of chipboard with a thin mattress. I needed a general anesthetic to go to sleep! Similar in price to UK travelodges, but not as good - maybe it's not rip-off Britain anymore?
When staying at this hotel, you need to be aware that you are about 20 minutes from city center but getting to the city is actually a "no brainer", just follow theroad past the airport and the signs will lead you there. Parking at the hotel is a little problematic but somehow it worked out every evening. Getting there from the "Autobahn" or the airport is very easy. The stay was very good for a traveler who don't need to be in the city center. Will stay there Again.
