"Good stay in a budget hotel"
10th August 2013, Barnet88, Oxford, United Kingdom
At first glance you might be put off as the area its in has a run down feel. The Ibis Budget hotel shares a building with the non budget Ibis hotel. Both have separate receptions. The Budget is accessable either from some smelly multi-storey car park inspired concrete stairs or from the walk through from the shopping mall under the flyover (more preferable). However, the reception was light and clean looking, and the receptionist a slightly older gentleman, very pleasant with good English.I was prepared for a very small room, however I was pleasantly surprised. Painted white with laminate floors and a green window blind it felt light and airy. Comfortable hardish king size bed with single bed above across the head end ("not suitable for under 6") the only complaint was the single flat pillow each of us had (I slept with mine folded in half). All 3 of us, including 14 year old son, slept fine. Single shelf/desktop, two small shelves each side of bed, and green hard plastic box stool (come side table) made up the rest of the furniture. All clean. 2 plug sockets. Television (unused apart from Saturday evening live football match). Ensuite bathroom had high bath with power shower over (and half size fixed shower screen). All clean although a few cracks around the sealant. Only 2 medium sized towels - which were changed daily.Negatives - apart from the pillows, no plug in sink (designed this way), got hot in bathroom and air conditioner not brilliant ... but probably wouldn't notice the last 2 if weather hadn't been so hot and humid. No tea/coffee - but could buy from machine in reception (we took out own travel kettle). No wardrobe - only 4 coathangers on a small pole for coats.Location - although seemed a negative turned out to be a positive as the shopping mall (and a huge Aachan hypermarket - open 8.30am - 10pm) were just a stroll away. Not open Sunday. To get to hotel Metro line 3 - get off last stop (Gallieni - zone 2), walk through the Mall (or around it) and the entrance is on the side of the main Ibis hotel. Would I use this hotel again ... Yes. Easy to get to; clean; was basic; but at the price (we paid c. £34 a night for the room) really can't complain. We stayed 5 nights.
"Very nice stay"

On map it seems far from central paris but its not - only about 20 mins by metro. Value for money - next to big shopping mall where you can do grocery and macdonalds which is open till 1am !! Euroline bus stop is walking distance. Gallieni line 3 station is also walking distance. Many hotels are around that area. Area was safe though you see some hawkers. Hotel has lockers for 3 euros which was great - we left our luggage for whole on our last day before catching our return bus. Hotel staff was helpful - showed me the places we can see and how to get there. they also gave me a 3pin socket which life saver as all our mobiles and tabs were drained out.
