Sofitel Zhengzhou International: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Not worth a penny for Club level"

We had pre- paid over CNY7500 for a 3 night stay at Zhengzhou's supposedly 5 star accommodation. We selected a club level room which was 30sq meter which is the same size as non-club standard rooms and 250% more in rates. For the club level, you get access to the lounge whihc provides free drinks and food. Believe me, you couldn't possibly eat and drink CNY$4500 worth. The rooms were extremely small and I had to change rooms because the first room smelt chemically potent. Room amenities were standard, with us and the rest of our group calling for additionaly bottles of shower gel and body lotion every day. The housekeeping staff expected us to use only one bottle of 30ml shower gel over the duration of 3 days with 2 showers a day. Such is the thinking of the management of the hotel. Need I say more. When I complained to the Club manager, he apologised and presented me with a gift of a set of shower gel, body lotion, shampoo & conditioner - rubbing salt into its wounds!The hotel is dated and very due for renovations, a revamp of club amenities, and definitely a hotel review re-rating & re-classification.The saving grace is their excellent service staff on Club lounge level, although our friends were told they ran out of eggs at the cafe at breakfast! We dined twice at the Chinese restuarant which was very good.This is a very expensive, unsatifactory stay. As an Accorhotel member, I am truely unhappy.
