ibis Laon: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Noisy, clean budget hotel"

6th May 2012, Antwerp, Belgium

Budget place, close to the centre of Laon. The rooms are nice and clean and internet access is available for free. Rooms at the streetside/parking side are very noisy and prevent most people a good nights rest. Nevertheless, if you're a budget, can sleep through noise this is a very good option. Carrefour market is also very close in case you need to buy something. I tried the restaurant and the food offered was okay, the house wine however was close to undrinkable.

ibis Laon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Laon"

1st May 2012, POB1204, Seyssel, France

We arrived around 22:00 and asked when the restaurant closed, but were told it had closed for new orders already. However, when we got to our room, the manager called and said that if we went through quickly, we could order. This was unexpected and very welcome. As with all IBIS hotels, the quality was consistent and easily what we expect for these hotels.

ibis Laon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Laon, a good stopping point"

12th March 2012, Haslemere, United Kingdom

Laon is definitely a good "Friday Night Hotel Stop". Just two hours drive from the Tunnel, so if you can get away Friday afternoon this is is either a good stopping off point or somewhere to stay for a weekend that is off the main track but bang on the side of the Auto route.I tend to stay at the Ibis when travelling through France because I know what I can expect, I'm not interested in adding to the stress level.Laon is a place worthg visiting, try it, you may be surprided.

ibis Laon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "overnight stay"

24th February 2012, Derby, United Kingdom

A modern hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. Our rooms were on the ground floor which proved a little noisy as sound travelled from the reception area. However we were all very tired and this did not disturb us too much. We ate at the hotel and the food was average, but reasonably priced with the exception of breakfast which was 6 euros. We ate a much more reasonably priced breakfast on the others side of the tunnel! Hotel good for a stop over.

ibis Laon: 3.0 out of 5 stars "value for money"

13th September 2011, Broadway, UK

Generally acceptable but staff need training and as Accor Favourite Guest members we were unable to obtain a drinks voucher - not desperate but showed lack of knowledge of the system! Good value for money

ibis Laon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "IBIS Laon"

8th September 2011, WebbyWales, Wales

A nice hotel with excellent rooms which seem to be recently refurbished. Bedrooms with extra bed for child wer as promised. The only down side were the bar and restaurant where a lack of staff meant long unacknowledged waits. This seems to be common with IBIS in France - They need to employ more staff out front.

ibis Laon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "It works well"

2nd September 2011, SussexBloke, Felpham, West Sussex, UK

Laon is a good place to stop - whether for one night as a stopover on a longer journey, or as a base for the area. Laon itself is delightful. A hilltop town, the slightly uglier aspects of modern life (chain hotels, supermarkets, flats, fuel stations etc) are located on the flat at the base of the hill. Up top is the cathedral, interesting restaurants, cobbled streets, shops - and super views across the countryside. I have used Laon as a base for cycling in the area as well as stop overs. I have stayed at the Ibis 3 times now and have not been disappointed. Everything works pretty well, breakfast is very adequate, the people who work there are pleasant, efficient and friendly. Add to that the location of Laon and you have the reason I choose to go there.

ibis Laon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "a ideal place to stay"

5th August 2011, antibes/

Why more people do not use this hotel on road to and from Calais defeats me.The town is superb and the run into Calais is easy..The service and price were ideal for anyone traveling on a limited budget and having stayed in all types of accommodation to/from ports think it is one of the best travellers hotels.Only downside is distance from autoroute for some people but I think the town itself makes up for that .A superb Medieval City and the old capital of France. Not many such places in Northern France.

ibis Laon: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Loan Ibis"

28th July 2011, Nottingham

Always a warm welcome, with reception staff and bar/restaurant staff very pleasant.Hotel is convenient for a short drive to ferry ports, Calais/Dunkirk.Have stayed here a number of times before and never been dissappointed.

ibis Laon: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Quality of room"

14th June 2011, Edinburgh

I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions and have always found it pleasant and good value. However, on this aoccasion, the room was unpleasant and smelt strongly of stale smoke. There was also a lond noise from I presume the air conditioning which prevented sleep.I left the hotel at 6.30 AM.
