"Great for Family"

This is a great hotel to stay if you have a family and is in a good location close to restaurants. We stayed for 10 nights with our 3 young children in a family room which is not on the beach side but is quieter with a better pool. The room was very dark and could do with some updating though. Next time we will consider staying in a family suite. We used the kids club and babysitter a few times and they were fantastic. The reception staff need to be more helpful and attentive. We asked for a power converter 3 times and still never received it so we bought one. Also when I told them a large brick from the top wall in our patio area fell and hit my childs face they just smiled and laughed saying they are not too stable. I had to ask for this to be checked and it never was. Breakfast is great and has a kids area where they can eat and play while you have your own breakfast. Would be good if you could have free wifi in your room.

Decided to spend 2 nights on the quieter side of Bali after 10 days at Legian (Padma resort - highly recommended).What a let down the area and hotel was. We stayed in a cabana. The room was old and outdated. The sinks were cracked as were the floorboards. The toilet cistern had come off from it's wall fasteners and lurched every time you sat on it. The sheets had NOT been changed from the previous tenant.We couldn't wait to get back to Legian again

The location of the room was across from the busy street is inconvenient. I think management should get a better idea to solve this. The room is very clean and nice.I would like to spent more time there next time I'm in Bali.Cheers

"Great Hotel specially for those travelling with kids"

Recently stayed at Novotel Bali Benoa,had a very enjoyble stay. the hotel is located right at the beach which is great when travelling with kids. The staff was very warm and courteous. My only request is if they could have more variety in the menu and add some more options to the childrens menu.

"Disappointing stay at Novotel Bali Benoa"

We booked a one bedroom villa with private pool and jacuzzi as a treat for five days of relaxation. On arrival we were shown to the accommodation and were disappointed. The villa was pretty but shabby and outdated and in need of refurbishment. The lounge area was located outside under a thatched roof and the bathroom was also outside including the toilet. This sounds very quaint but when it is hot and humid and there are lots of mosquitos at night it makes it very difficult to take a bath/shower or cool down.When we re-read the details of what we had booked it did not mention anywhere that the bathroom was outside or that the jacuzzi was in fact an outdoor jacuzzi bath.After the first night we had to complain about the uncomfortable bed as neither of us could sleep nor could we face a second night of discomfort. At first we were told it was a fairly new mattress and when we questioned this and said we would have to leave if they couldn't do anything they found a refurbished room with a new mattress and changed the mattress on the bed, this was more comfortable but still not great.The restaurant areas were all open plan and at night there were lots of flies on the food which made it very unappealing and after the first night we chose not to eat in the hotel.On a couple of occasions we tried to order tea and coffee via room service in the room and these took forever to come on both occasions.The area around the hotel was badly affected at night by mosquitos and this made it very difficult to use our space without getting bitten to pieces. The only plus point to the hotel was the location to the beach which was great, the main pool area was very nice as was the private pool with our villa. In additon the massages in the spa were very good and the staff in the spa very helpful.We will definately not be recommending the hotel to our family and friends

Please take my apologies that you were not fully satisfied with your stay in one of our pool villas.As you mentioned we changed the mattress to a softer one after the first night and offered a free 50 minutes couple massage for your inconveniences (and I was confirmed during your stay that you were ok with our handling of this issue).Our villas were built in 2009, we keep them well maintained and all future travellers may take a look at our homepage for pictures of the setup, also mentioning the open bathroom and outdoor living room. Also some fellow travellers made pictures which can be seen on tripadvisor.For our outdoor buffets we do our utmost to provide the highest hygienic standards and I am sorry that you did not find it satisfactory for your standards. Absolutely enjoyed our stay at Novotel Benoa. The hardest choice was which of the 3 pools to swim in - all were lovely. Breakfast was the best! I have never looked forward to breakfast this much in my life. The B/F buffett had everything and more that you could want - from the choice of eggs ( fried, poached, omelette ) to the pancakes, crepes, waffles, french toast and fruit platters. There was also cold meats, cheeses, salads and a variety of breads to toast and bread rolls. The mini fruit tarts were hard to pass by not to mention all the danish's. Get the idea how much I enjoyed their breakfasts?All the staff were wonderful and very friendly. Staff had adequate english skills I had no trouble being understood and they were always keen to help/provide service. I wish I had more spending money so I could have tipped them more as I was leaving...This hotel is definitely worth staying at and when I go back again I will hopefully be staying there again. It is about 30 mins from Kuta where we went shopping but the hotel offers a taxi service. It is worth using as you know what not to pay when you are catching a taxi back from shopping. One taxi tried to charge us $160000 rupiah when it only cost us $90000 when using the hotel taxi! I thoroughly warn you not to change your money on the street by the hotel - the money changers will keep half your money and if they can't rip you off they will get mad at you and tell you to go away. Once you have recounted it they pick it up to tidy the wad of notes up and though sleight of had ( like a magician ) they push it under the bench and you won't have a clue. Change it at the hotel please! The hotel will at least give you big notes - the money changers on the street will use $20000 notes which makes it harder for you to count.We stayed in the Garden Wing rooms they were nice, the airconditioning was lovely and cold and there is a tv with foxtel channels. Each room also has a private balcony which was good for me because that is where I smoked. The room cleaners were great and there is a drinking water fountain/stand at the end of each hall so you can just fill up your bottles instead of having to buy new ones all the time. We had WiFi in our room but there is a internet room in the lobby ( airconditioned ). Our departure flight was at 10.30pm and room check out is 12pm but we left our bags in the lobby and did last minute shopping. We hung out in the internet room till it was time to go to the airport. Loved it!!!!

"We Loved It..."

Loved the Novotel Benoa, very family friendly and a nice and quite place to stay.Great food and fantastic brekkie every morning and our room was very clean with amazing beds slept like a log .....Location is perfect for us plenty of Spa's and restuarants next door and a small amount of shopping on the strip, however we really just loved to lay on the beach and use the large family pool my daughter loved the kids club.We will be back in the next few years

"Great resort for families/couples away from the hustle of Kuta"

We had a beachside cabana which was fabulous , the location was second to none.First the positives..1/Great quiet pool across the road in the hotel area, very private and lots of shade if required.2/Nice location far from the madding crowds3/ Great for families with kids4/Friendly staff , they fixed our problems when we asked..Good to see proactive behaviorNegatives1/ Beds too hard2/ Breakfasts very bland ,lots of pre cooked itemsWe would still recomend this hotel to couples who want to get away from the hustle of Kuta and also to families with the Novotel kids club

For the bed, some guests like our beds being a bit harder, but some feel it's a bit too hard. We now ordered 'bed toppers' from King Koil and informing our guests that we will put this comfort layer on top of the mattress if they feel the bed is too hard. This service will be available in the next weeks.At breakfast we prepare fried eggs and omlettes in advance to avoid queues for these items. Next time you stay with us please feel free to order a freshly made egg dish with our cooks at the open kitchen. The hotel provides a lot of activities for children and adults around the hotel, such as cooking lessons, games pool for kids, massage lesson. Also everynite the hotel presents some performance, such as balinese dance, modern dance, traditional market. The hotel is located in the street full of shops, e.g. handicraft shops, minimarket, spa & massages, also many restaurants.Still many things to be improved regarding the hotel services, such as the quality and taste of the food, the amenities in the bedroom, and the hospitality of the bellboy, waiters. The hotel is divided into two location separated by the street. So, everytime we need to go for breakfast/restaurant or go to the beach, we have to cross the street. Not very practical. Not like you expected from the website ad.

This is our second stay at this hotel.First come for checkup at 2 pm, and still need to wait for room availability around 30 mins.Our room is across the street of the lobby / beach wing. A little bit old but still in good shape overall.Kids club offer wide variety of activities in morning & afternoon.A very good value stay

We are a family of 4 with a 10 year old and an 8 year old. We all loved our stay at this hotel as it is on the beach and away from all the traffic of Kuta. The kids played in the pool most of the time and left us to relax. We had a wonderful massage on the day beds overlooking the ocean. If you use your Accor Card for the meals it is extremely cheap for the beautiful buffet dinners ( Only around $10 aust to feed 4 of us as kids under 12 eat free!) The staff were lovely and we will definately stay there again. Hobbs Family

"Novotel Bali Benoa is not good"

Upon check-in, Customer Service did not tell me I had free wifi in the two rooms we booked. Had to show my online receipt the following day. However, wifi reception in our rooms was terrible. Also, the towels were old and not white anymore. I will not return to this hotel until they have renovated it.

We provided internet slips immediately and of course no costs occured. We stayed at the Novotel Benoa for five nights just recently. We had a good location in Seminyak prior and were worried it wouldn't be as good. The Novotel completely lived up to expectations...from the minute we arrived until we left the staff were very helpful and professional. Our room (tropical terrace) was fantastic and the food was much better than average. The location is a big plus, right on the beach with access to watersports and much quieter than the rest of the touristy part of Bali. Couldn't have been happier and will definitely stay there again on our next trip (honeymoon!!)

After renovation, your dining room choose man made floor tile, and pedestal of the wooden post also covered by same floor tile; it is not same ethnic concept , better use natural stone.Breakfast is excellent.

Fantastic hotel. Will definitely go back. Friendly, helpful staff. Great facilities. Gym weight equipment could be updated. Beautifully authentic landscaping. Great to have the choice of two swimming pools and the beach. Free wifi throughout hotel would be appreciated especially given the cheap cost of this service throughout Bali.

Overall I am satisfy with my stay with Novotel.My family enjoyed very much on the Nyepi programThe pools is great and overall the facilities is good. The staffs are well trained and very polite and kindSome minor points that I would think if the hotel can further improve will be great:-On the Nyepi day, guess the guests was over crowded and therefore I find the service at the restaurant during breakfast time was a bit slow. It will be good if the manpower can be increase to cover that for better serviceIf the hotel can provide in room dvd player, it will be great too as sometimes the kids like to watch their own favourite cartoons in DVDThe cereal served for kids during breakfast guess was kept for too long and it is a bit soften already
