We could not fault the service the staff were friendly and ready to help you out wherever possible. However we dined at No 35 and were disappointed with our meals. However this has not deterred us from staying again.

The Sofitel is our new favourite place when visiting Melbourne. Food, service and rooms all perfect. Fantastics views from Restaurant 35 and our room. Great location for walking to all parts of the CBD or catching trams. We'll be back soon.

the sofitel perfectly located at the paris end of collins street close to fed square and at the heart of the action in melbourne.we were greeted warmly the check in was quick and easy and before long we were travelling up the elevator to our room situated on the 37th floor the room was well appointed and the views were magnificant. i would surgest a meal at no35 we found it a wonderful exsperience.

"Beautiful Anniversary"

Always love to stay at any Sofitel, Melbouorne is no exception. Wonderful service in the hotel. We had our anniversary dinner in the restaurant - No 35. Sadly the service was not great. It took too long to take our order. We didn't want an entree and then we finally received our main course 1.5 hours after arriving. Food was fabulous once we received it.

"Fantastic stay"

The staff at the hotel were fantastic and very proffessional and helpful. Our room was gorgeous with a fantastic view of melbourne, serviced each day. Great location with a short walk to all areas of melbourne CBD.

"Nice but not Great"

We have stayed in many of the CBD hotels in Melbourne ofver the past 2-3 years so are able to compare this experiance to its competition quite well."Nice" is the bext way i would describe this place - We looked at eating in the restaurant but the limited menu made the decision to go out somewhere else easy; which was annoying as we had hoped to eat in. As it turned out we had a great meal just down the road!Would we stay here again - no. We have keep leaning towards the Hyatt on the Park as our benchmark so will invest in them in the future.

The staff were so helpful! all my questions (and i had quite a few) were answered in a helpful and curtious manner.The facilities were fantastic and the breakfast amazing.Top spot to stay - close to Fitzroy and walking distance to everything in the city.

I couldn't rave about it enough. This is where I'll be staying from now on when I go to Melbourne! 1) The little things...I was greeted with good quality chocolate and a complimentary cocktail/wine.2) Room was impressive, the VIEW, the VIEW was impressive from the room/ restuarant and the gym. 3) As I'm a gym junkie, I appreciate a good gym. I actually took photos of the gym and facebook them!!! The equipments, the view, the bottled water in the fridge (this is the first!). Could do with some music though. The massage chairs, well didn't get a chance to use them.4) The bed...I never sleep well in a hotel. I slept like a log. The bed was dark enough, there was no noise (well, you're pretty high up) and the bed is soooo comfy.5) My complimentary cocktail was yummy! 6) It was close to everything. I'm back in Melbourne in a couple of months time and the choice is clear!!!

"Multiple bookings for our wedding"

I booked and paid for 5 rooms in total, and in the end was very disappointed with the service both of the hotel staff and the restaurant.The booking was for my wedding and even though I triple checked everything in the weeks leading up everything was a mess on arrival, including mxing up the rooms and double charging me for breakfast. Still have not received a refund letter or email.The room itself was amzing with great views and lovely facilities. The staff and the organisation was bitterly disappointing. Especially in No.35, worst dinner I have ever had the misfortune to pay for. Hard pumpkin so much so that it shot off my plate and although again i had personally confirmed the placement of our table it was stuffed up. Clearly they did not care that this was my one and only wedding.

"ONE OUT"

The Classic King room had an odour to it when I walked in. I found long black hairs in the shower and there were only 2 tea bags in the container. The drain in the bathroom smelled like sewerage. Apart from this all the mod cons were were available and comfortable. I think the rates are overpriced for single stayers. Location in Collins Street is the main feature here.

I haven't stay at this hotel for nearly 20 years when it was The Regent. It was gone from good to excellent. Rooms, location, views very exciting. Loved our stay and look forward to our next stay next month. Well done and thanks

My wife and I stayed at the Sofitel Melbourne last weekend where we were treated to the best motel stay we have ever experienced. The Sofitel itself is a fantastic venue to stay in with magnificent views and the best buffet breakfast you'll fina anywhere, but it was the warm welcome and the considerate way we were treated by the staff during our stay which made my wife and i feeel like royalty.

My family and friends and us stayed 4 nights at the Sofitel on Collins to celebrate my 60th Birthday. All of the staff were wonderfully helpful and constantly asking if there was anything further they could do for us. The views from our room were spectacular and the location, Paris end of Collins Street was perfect with an easy walk to the MCG, Rod Laver Stadium and AAMI Stadium. Public transport, tram, is right at the door and parking immediately under the Hotel. We celebrated with 40 friends at lunch on Sunday in 35 Restaurant. An exceptional spread of seaftood and variety of other foods with drinks included for 3.5 hours. Unbelievable value! We will certainly be back!

Sofitel Colloins St Melbourne was an ideal venue to attend the Melb Comedy Fest and enjoy the fantastic restaurants in Flinders Lane. A great location, amazing beds and top service.

We love this hotel especially the location and views. Beds are very comfy as well. The only complaint I would have is there was no paper delivered in the morning.

Although the room was not quite ready when we arrived, due to a particularly popular weekend of bookings - we were provided with a complimentary cocktail at one of the wonderful bars and sat and watched the world go by for about half an hour before being able to collect the keys to our room. Once inside the room, we found it to be beautifully presented - exactly as on the webpage, clean, warm, and sporting the most fabulous views of Melbourne and the Yarra River. We had baths, and a picnic with champagne....perfect to unwind after a busy week, and to celebrate our very first anniversary! Thanks to the wonderful staff who were all so lovely.

"Excellent Hotel - great location"

First time guest at a Sofitel hotel. Fantastic hotel in the centre of Melbourne with amazing views from the 44th floor. Room rate was very reasonable compared to other 5 star hotels in Melbourne. Staff and service at time of check in and during our stay was very polite and efficient. Complimentary bottle of champagne to celebate wedding anniversary was a very nice touch. Minor issue with the surround sound system in the room whilst watching an inhouse movie was attended to very promptly. Overall 5 out 5. Will defenitely stay at the Sofitel again.

My husband and I have stayed at the Sofitel dozens of times since our Wedding Night in 1989! We love Club Sofitel and find it wonderful value for money and outstanding service. Being in the hospitality tindustry ourselves we know what to look for and expect. The Sofitel consistently delivers every time and we take great pleasure in sharing this top class hotel with family and friends who also become "hooked" and can't wait until their next visit.

Expansive views to the east over the Rod Laver Tennis Centre and Melbourne Cricket Ground and south to Port Phillip Bay. Staff were all polite and helpful. The room itself was spacious and modern. Enjoyed my stay.

Beautiful hotel, have stayed there several times and love it. This time for some reason the staff greeted us with "Bonjoir" and spoke with French accents - very strange given that the hotel is in Melbourne. Perhaps there is a staff exchange going on?
