This is a great hotel and location for a stay in London. The reception staff are exceptional in their helpfulness, appearance and personalities. We stayed in an executive room with a view of Big Ben. Tate Britain is 5 minutes away as is Westminster Abby. Breakfasts are great!View management response »

"Excellent stay, apart from smelly water from tap and bath/shower. Good Location."

We stayed here for 2 night and the staff were really good but the only downside was the smelly water coming from the sink and bath.... it put us off.Breakfast was good but it would have been great if they had an egg counter where someone could make omelettes/fried eggsView management response »

Great location, especially close to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and the National Gallery at Trafalgar Square. Great frequent bus service and 15 minute walk to the subway. Annoying, intermittent sound made by the airconditioning fan kept us up every night. Sounded like a watch alarm going off every 20 minutes. The street was too noisy to sleep with the window open. We complained to the front desk, but no one ever came to investigate. If you walk 5 minutes past the subway station, you reach the train station where you can buy travel cards to use on the subway or train and take advantage of the 2 for 1 admission prices to lots of great attractions. Management responseThank you very much for this excellent review of the Novotel London Waterloo I am very pleased that our central location was so convenient to you; on the doorstep to the River Thames and just a couple of minutes walk away from some of London’s most famous landmarks such as Big Ben and London Eye. Please accept my apoligies for the inconvenience caused by the air conditioning. It was our pleasure to look after you and your family and we hope to welcome you back hopefully for your next trip to London and would indeed recommend to go on the Novotel website to get the best rates and also get a promotional price on breakfast at £9.95 per person (and children under 16 eat free for breakfast!).Kind regardsBernard PanisseGeneral Manager

"Another excellent stay . ."

We had another of our yearly visits to Novotel Waterloo recently, and once again were welcomed with the usual courtesy. Room was quiet as requested, clean and well-equipped. Cooked buffet breakfast very welcome, especially after a late night watching the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park! Walked there, showing just how convenient this hotel is for many locations - it is perfect to explore the cultural spots along the South Bank.View management response »

"Good location, very comfy bed, excellent choice for family"

Hotel has a very good location......within walking distance to Big Ben, London Eye & Westminster. Both Big Bus and Original Sightseeing Bus have a stop next to the hotel. We had 2 rooms and the rooms were clean and sizable. The bed was very comfortable...best among all the hotels I stay during my 2 weeks of stay in south and west UK. The sofa-bed was also of good quality. My kids slept well on them. The air-conditioner worked very well too.The Free Internet was a very good feature! That's the way to go!Breakfasts were with reasonable quality....though nothing to brag about. We had one dinner at the hotel restaurant Element Fresh. The menu had rather limited selection. It was just OK. It seemed the restaurant was quite under-staffed. In general, it was a very pleasant stay at the Novotel Waterloo. However, there were two problems:(1) It is a bit far from subway station. The closest station, Lambeth North, is about 15min walk.(2) We booked a bigger taxi for 6 people on the day of departure which never showed up. So we had to scramble to find 2 taxis on the road by ourselves. Hotel staff wasn't much helpful for this moment. As Lambeth Rd is not a busy road, it took us a while to get one and we barely made it to Heathrow before the check in counter closed.View management response »
