"Satisfactory"
26th April 2012, doloresokello, Isle of Wight, United Kingdom
This was our 4th stay at Novatel. Room smaller than previous ones. Bed linen and towels did not small fresh. Strong BO odour. Also blue cushions had very strong BO odour. All staff were very pleasant and any requests we made were fulfilled i.e. more pillows and also towels. Food very satisfactory but dinner service very slow. Have noticed this also in the past. Overall we were happy. Hopefully next time bedlinen will be fresher.

"Very nice stay. Competent staff, nice hotel."

Nothing special to say, very nice hotel may be a bit pricy but very good services. Good breakfast. Parking over price but it is the same in whole London.

"Worst service ever"
17th April 2012, Totallyout2lunch, Wimborne, United Kingdom
Being an Accor member, I booked this hotel online, adding to the booking info to let my Wife and baby check in as I will be following later that day. On the day to go to the hotel, I get a phone call from my mother-in-law telling me that they wont let my wife and baby check in, wont let her change our baby's nappy, and was told to leave the premises to go out into the London rain as she didn't have a valid credit card. I had already given the hotel my credit card details in the booking information. They didn't even offer to call me to clear this up, she was asked to leave and not return until I was there to check in.Well I called the hotel, they sent me a form which I emailed back to them, and then the told me she could check in. Well this is not acceptable... Whats the point of having a comment section on the web forms, if you are not going to read whats put there. At any point in the 5 days of my booking they could have emailed me asking for such and such as they needed 'authorization'. I still have not received a we are sorry or any form of apology for this. I am still spitting from anger over this.

novotel waterloo location seems too quite and inconvenient for a taxi. although its very near london eye. but its quite expensive that i notice.i also given the room same to others, just they had the sofa and converted to bed for my kids, although its not my expectation when i book my family room.

Management responseThank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on Tripadvisor. The hotel is indeed located close to the London Eye and also several other highlights in London which can easily be reached by foot or by bus. With regards to our family rooms I can confirm that all of them are equipped with a sofa bed to accommodate the children. We also offer either interconnecting or executive rooms should you prefer to have more space for the family. Please ask our Reservations department for further details when making your next booking. I hope to be able to welcome you back to our hotel again in the near future.Kind regards,Sheila MitchellGeneral Manager

"Cookie cutter"
30th March 2012, Cardiff, United Kingdom
Staff were very good and friendly. But the building is soulless and identical to every other Novotel I've been in. Bedroom boring but functional, bathroom all in pre-moulded plastic. Food was surprisingly good, but expensive (plenty of good restaurants nearby: try RSJ). £160 for a room only deal is to my mind very expensive, but I suppose it is in line with other nearby hotels. I object to having to pay extra for Wifi, which was slow. I would stay again only because of the location (near the office).
"A comfortable night's stay in a modern clean hotel"
22nd March 2012, John and Tony, Derbyshire, England
A smart modern hotel with good-sized and well-equipped rooms. Pleasant reception staff and convenient for the river, though quite a walk from the nearest tube station.

"Good reliable hotel chain"
15th March 2012, Barnstaple, United Kingdom
This is a good modern hotel. Rooms are quite spacious and comfortable but although threre is a wardrobe, there are no drawers for storing clothes and other belongings out of sight. The bathroom was well appointed and clean, but the shower screen did not have a close seal to the bath and allowed water from the powerful shower tospray onto ther floor necessitating mopping up operations. Breakfast was very good, catering for every taste and everything was constantly replenished. The location is about a 10 minute walk from the nearest tube station, which is perhaps further than ideal with baggage or after a hard days shopping or sight seeing, but its proximity to the embankment is good. It is a lovely walk along the river to Westminster.

Management responseThank you for taking the time to share your recent experience on tripadvisor. I have shared your comments about the shower with our Maintenance Manager who will further look into the situation. Please note that all our rooms are inspected on a daily basis however on some occasions we rely on our guests for further feedback. Lambeth North is the nearest underground station to the hotel and it takes about 7-8 minutes to get there. Alternatively there are bus connections just opposite of the Hotel entrance. I hope to be able to welcome you back again on your next visit to London.Kind regards,Sheila MitchellGeneral Manager

"Great experience"
3rd March 2012, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Very nice hotel. Clean and well furnished rooms, good sized bathrooms. Helpful staff, fairly close to the best of the city.My only complaint is that I paid the equivalent of 20 pounds more than what was indicated on the site. I was informed that it was taxes but on further research found out that the price on site already included taxes. Also, the cost was converted to my currency with an unsolicited and not attractive rate. I first thought that it was standard procedure but it did not happen on the other Accor Hotels I've stayed later on.That aside, still a good experience.

"Great Location"

Stayed for 2 nights and had a great time. The hotel was excellent. One little gripe was that the coffee and tea at breakfast was lukewarm but other than that we had no complaints. We would definitely stay here again.

"Central and quiet south of the river with splendid view of Big Ben"
24th February 2012, Oslo, Norway
I can't fault the service, location and atmosphere of this low-rise quiet hotel: perfect place to spend a while in London. Next to the Garden Museum, Lambeth Palace, a moment's stroll along the Thames gets you to the London Eye, National Theatre and all the great South Bank facilities. Book early and get great value for money too.I have been staying there whenever possible for years, and so should you.

"Nice time"
23rd February 2012, Reading, United Kingdom
Stayed for two nights in Feb 2012. Was offered the upgrade to executive and as it was a special occasion we went for it. Not an essential upgrade, but made the stay that bit nicer. The movie/internet bundle is free at weekends although some of the staff were unaware of this and I felt the need to keep checking so as not to have a nasty bill suprise. Although you would't stay there to watch films - we had spent most of the second day hitting the town, so felt like an early night and a film (Rock and Roll behaviour I know). So it was nice to have the option. Breakfast was very good. Very large selection and the cooked food was to a good standard. Staff were very nice although always felt a little rushed at reception - even if it was quiet. Very nice hotel to have for a base. Just be aware that the nearest tube is Lambeth north which is 10 minutes walk with a case, but a little too close to justify a taxi. Very close to Lambeth bridge and the southbank footpaths. Great for romantic stroll down the riverside to see either the Eye or Big Ben etc, but again, these are a walk - not a hop skip and a jump. Recommended.

Reception was helpful and kind. Gererally, lobby and breakfast was more or less, but room was like in 2 star hotel, mach worst I saw in Novotel ever. Piratic prace for wifi (I would prefer to have it for free, but not for 1,5 GBP for 30 min).

"London Waterloo"
28th January 2012, Southend-on-Sea, United Kingdom
Rooms and general hotel cleanliness was up to the normal good Novotel standard. The hotel is a convenient location for Southbank attractions and Westminster is only a short walk across the river.Staff did not seem as friendly as I am used to on my business visits to regional Novotels however that may be a symptom of being in London. That said the stay was pleasant enough and the breakfast was enjoyable for all the family.I would recommend this hotel for anyone taking a short break in London for its location but I would advise against driving as the hotel parking charges were excessive for a single nights stay at the weekend.

"Highly recommended"
25th January 2012, Exeter, United Kingdom
We used this hotel for easy access to the city. It has an excellent easy to park and safe car park. The staff were brilliant and help full. I would highly recommend it.It's a pitty the one in Reims is not to the same standard.

"Clean towels needed but great location"
12th January 2012, Bath, United Kingdom
We booked 3 rooms and the hotel made sure we were all next to each other which was great. We were a family of adults 2 to each room meeting from different parts of the world so trying to catch up and see London sites. The location is fantastic. Couldn't be bettered for the price. Not far to walk to Westminster Abbey, Waterloo, The Cut for good bars etc. Hotel staff were very helpful. LAte night snack in the bar was delivered promptly and was hot. Not too healthy but was what we expected. One issue was that the hand towels were dirty and obviously hadn't been changed. When we pointed this out to the room maid she changed them straight away so it was rectified quickly. Also the basin did not drain so when brushing your teeth you filled the sink that didn't drain away. Our room was the only one with this problem Good night sleep as bed quite comfortable. Would recommend.
