ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Dont stay there and watch the Accor Club promises"

22nd May 2012, Unhappy97_12, North Wollongong, Australia

Great location overpriced hotel for what it is you should be able to book much better accommodation in Sydney. The Accor club also missrepresented the entitlements they promised ie a $50 voucher. Be careful with the accor club promises.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Bad sleeps..."

the bed was terrible so small and unstable...very noise hotel you can hear everything terrible place to sleep.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 4.0 out of 5 stars "okay"

Check in Peter was poor, housekeeping staff excellent nothing too much trouble, room with interconnecting door very noisy with next door people

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Great Location"

17th May 2012

This hotel is situated in a ideal location of Darling Harbour. Most of the staff were accomodating to our needs. The rooms were suprisingly small ( superior room with harbour views) but clean and tidy. The only place to put your luggage is the only seating area in the room, so therefore we spent most of our time outside. There were no hand towels in the bathroom which meant we were always using are bath towels. The walls are thin and we could hear the movements in the rooms next door starting very early at times ( 5.45am). The buffet breakfast was fresh and with variety. I would recommend this hotel for its great location.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 3.0 out of 5 stars "good value not food"

15th May 2012, seahag1112, Nowra, Australia

we got our room at discount rate for harbor view, asked for extra pillows didn't get them and their weren't any in the room, the room is a wee bit small and the fridge was too small even for a bar fridge. No service where food was concerned, staff saw us waiting at restaurant and didn't bother to come and tell us no services only at bar. Ate at the Novotel diner was pricey and not good value steak was tough, lunch at the Novotel at the bar was excellent and the barman was very attentive two thumbs up for the bar lunch.Had a good couple of nights sleep (even without the extra pillows) blackout blinds a plus and a beautiful view of the Darling Harbor in the morning, amenities were clean and the shower was excellent great spray jet

My husband and I have stayed many times at the Ibis Hotel Darling Harbour andalways have a great time - this was no exception

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Not Completely Satisfied"

10th May 2012, Fortune11, Sydney, Australia

HI,service from staff was excellent, they are very friendly and efficient. The first issue was parking very difficult to find we had to drive between both parking lots a couple of times before we found a clear space. There should be enough parking for all.Secoundly our bedroom was next to the elvator so our sleep was constantly disturbed, I think for the fees I pay annually. I should have received a room that was beter postioned. The pictures I'm sorry to say on the web looked better than the actual room. I thought we would have alot more space. For one night it was bearable but if I was staying for a week I would have complained and requested to be moved. You need to look afer Your members otherwise why do we pay a premium?

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Don't go there"

10th May 2012, ella0309, Gosford, Australia

I booked through Accor as a member. Our friends who also stayed at the Ibis booked direct and received a cheaper price which included breakfast on both mornings. Our breakfast was $39.00 each day. I was given a discount but was told I shouldn't be getting it because I failed to notify the person at the front of the restaurant. The dining room was extremely cold. All patrons commented. We asked for a change in AC temp and was told that the maintenance man was unavailable. We went to order drinks from the bar and was told that they had NO Sav Blanc wine and had no Bourbon. We were told that the alcohol comes from the Novotel and that hadn't delivered it today.I received an email from Accor offering a $50 discount off bar prices during our stay. I called Accor to confirm and was told to mention the deal to the Bar Staff. I did that and after the duty manager investigated, I was told that the offer does not apply to Ibis. I had been told it did apply. We chose to eat elsewhere at night because the restaurant was too cold.On departure, I was charged $70 for 2 nights parking, our friends were only charged for 1 night.Based on this experience I will not be renewing my membership with Accor

Management responseDear ella0309,Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel on Trip Advisor. It is concerning that your friends who are not Advantage Plus members gained a rate cheaper than you did as the way our system is set up members rates are always indexed off any pricing that we have to the general public. The only time that this could happen is if there were a super sale on and you booked your accommodation pre or post this sale and your friends booked the sale price. I would be more that happy to investigate this matter further. The $50 promotion that you mentioned is an accommodation package available at Novotel, Mercure and Pullman hotels and would have to be booked as a package in advance. Please accept our apologies for any confusion regarding this.I have also spoken with my Food and Beverage Manager regarding the service or lack of from the bar and restaurant. In each case our team member should have actioned your request and I will ensure that the staff involved are counselled appropriately.Again, thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope to see you when you next travel.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Nice Hotel"

9th May 2012, cpnz010, Perth, Australia

Nice hotel close to everything, great view of Darling Harbour, service was good, room nice and clean. Rooms are just on the small side, however the view made up for it.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great Location"

9th May 2012, BigJAustralia_11, Dallas, Texas, USA

This was my first time at this hotel and it was very enjoyable. It is right next to Darling Harbour and a short walk to the Casino. There are restaurants and bars close by. The monorail and Light Rail is right outside to the door. Either mode of transport takes you right into Sydney and Central Station, Paddys Market, the Entertainment Centre and George Street Cinemas. My only complaint about the hotel was the lack of drawer space. The staff were very efficient. Breakfast was very comprehensive and the bistro has reasonable meals. Parking is close by and reasonably priced by Sydney standards.

Great location for the money, small room and ensuite, staff friendly and helpfull, very bad TV reception

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Hotel Ibis Darling Harbour"

26th April 2012, Helios7889, Wellington

I had a very pleasent stay and the staff were all very helpfull. The location is perfect to be able to walk around Darling Harbour, Catch the Mono Rail into the centre or to relax in on of the many bars or resturants around the place.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Basic but Adequate"

26th April 2012, Blestie, Exeter, United Kingdom

This is a basic but adequate hotel, ideally located for Darling harbour and exploring the city. A 25minute walk to circular quays through the CBD and on the tram line and monorail. Able to check in early after a long flight from heathrow was a bonus. Rooms are very small and not much room to open up 1 suitcase let alone 2. Rooms were clean and in good order, although beds not the best but we have experienced worse! if you are looking for a cheap hotel in a good location then this would be worth considering.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 4.0 out of 5 stars "A good place if you re working in the city"

23rd April 2012, John1991Newcastle, Newcastle

I thank the people at the IBIS for their courtesies. I had a good room overlooking Pyrmont. The room was a bit small but sufficient to do some work before attending a meeting in the city. The city is a quick brisk walk across Pyrmont Bridge. The breakfast was substantial and good. The bar allows for a quite drink and a newspaper read, even an opportunity to chat to a stranger. The Dining Room has been changed to a Cafe concept with a good menu of basic foods at a good price. THe IBIS will even let you take your dinner to your room.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Weekend"

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 4.0 out of 5 stars "One night stay"

We stayed at the iis in Darling Harbour. Great location. Poor signage from the tramstop to the hotel through the carpark. Otherwise a great stay to start our holidays.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Darling Harbour"

13th April 2012, janlacey, Wollongong, Australia

Great Location - right at Darling Harbour. Room as expected very small but clean and bathroom clean. Bed was old but comfortable. I had a 3 night for 2 booking so was pleased with the value. The breakfast was good but the restaurant was not available at night. I was suprised you had to pay if you wanted to leave your bags/cases before or after leaving your room. Only minimum staff but they were pleasant enough.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Budget but Brilliant"

13th April 2012, Cathleen59, Nelson Bay, Australia

Great service experience from Peter, small room hiccup initially but he fixed the problem right away, with a caring and efficent manner. The four and five star motels that we have stayed in recently need to visit this motel to learn what real customer service is all about. Well done Ibis and in particular Peter (a real asset).

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Location, economy and service."

13th April 2012, 73oswald, Tamworth, Australia

We were pleased, rested and satisfied with our three night stay at Darling Harbour. The room offered all that is needed for a weekend in Sydney, buffet breakfast offered everything to all and we didn't require anything else till lunch. We had one evening meal from the snack menu and enjoyed it very much. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Service"

The customer service at the hotel was WELL below par!! Where has it gone in 2012, its definitely not at this hotel!

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Interesting check in..."

6th April 2012, Moonsista

The location of the hotel was great with easy access and parking, rooms are quite small but clean however the beds tend to roll around the room every time you sat on them or rolled over during the night. The check in person was a bit rude but as you only have to talk to them on check in your can over look that. If I stayed again I would request a higher floor. You can easily walk to most attractions and the monorail and light rail stations are close by

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good location"

3rd April 2012, Sydney

As far as economy accommodation goes the IBIS Darling Harbour is a good choice. The room and bathroom are a little small, as was the TV screen, but everything needed was there including dryer, shampoos etc.The view from the Harbor room was just as great as was the fact that the monorail was on the doorstep. Would also recommend the breakfast.

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Darling Harbour"

2nd April 2012, Brisbane

Location is great but hotel is very basic. I booked and paid for a queen bed and got 2 singles, so much for Advantage Plus?

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Convenience"

2nd April 2012, Devonport, Australia

Rooms clean but small could have done with a couple of comfortable chairs for when youbsrrived back from sightseeing & shoppping, instead of having to use bed. TV remotes to to be checked a little more often to see if they work properly. Convenient to shopping & restaurants also within walking distance to ferries

ibis Sydney Darling Harbour: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Fair"

28th March 2012, Sydney

The location was fantastic. The rooms clean. The ironing board had sharp metal objects on it and could have seriously hurt someone. The remote had no back on it so the batteries kept falling out. Beds were comfortable.
