"Birthday Retreat"
11th May 2012, Flanderen, Cambridge, United Kingdom
Have stayed at this well located hotel on numerous occasions both as a family and as a couple . We have always found the staff helpful and knowledgeable, the rooms clean and functional with fuss kept to an absolute minimum. Bar service is friendly and efficient . We shall opt to stay here again on our next visit. I cannot comment on breakfast because I always use the Bistro next to Reubens Huis, which in its own words is an atmosphere-rich Brasserie-restaurant with an ageless decor, uniquely located in the heart of the city on the pedestrian link between the lively Meir and trendy Schuttershofstraat
"Good enough for a weekend"
4th May 2012
The location is perfect, the service not perfect but good enough. Felt a bit like staff was too busy to really bother with guests. But the room was in good order and everything went smooth. Therefore as written above, good enough. for a weekend or a few nights.Rooms are small, as are most Ibis Hotel rooms. And it is a bit noisy outside at night -music- , but it didn't really bother us.
"Antwerp - the hidden gem!"
15th February 2012, Kilmacolm
Very nice hotel and well located to explore this beautiful town. Hotel is within 20 minute walk of train station and situated just beside the theatre. Excellent Saturday and Sunday market on the square directly outside. Standard Ibis hotel with usual good range of facilities, staff very friendly and helpful at all times of day. Only slightly adverse comment is that the room was really quite small, although it was well packaged and being on a city break, we did not spend much time in it.Antwerp itself is beautiful - much nicer than Brussels where I go regularly on business and you can get to Antwerp in 30-40 minutes by train on the busy Brussels - Amsterdam service. Highly recommend a visit.
"Average Rooms, Good location"
3rd February 2012, sonialawson, amsterdam
Hotel was central but there is no parking available, only at a local car park at 15 euros for 24 hours. Reception was poorly staffed and there was a long wait to check in and out.Rooms were tired and run down, also very small. Walls seemed paper thin and we were woken by noisy guests in the room one floor above.I think it is possible to get better value for money in Antwerp.
"Pleasant stay in Ibis Antwerpen Centrum"
20th October 2011, Portsmouth, United Kingdom
Really convenient central location - only a short walk to the sights of Antwerpen. Hotel was clean. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It was well-kept and well-appointed. Spent little time there as Antwerp has a really good night life! Comfortable beds. Staff were helpful. Good place to stay.
"Very nice hotel"
22nd September 2011, Sugar Land
I have stayed in the hotel for three times in the last 6 months. The location is very nice and rooms are clean and well lit. I found the breakfast at the hotel was overpriced at 14 Euros per day. You also have to pay for the wireless internet which is an added expense.
"Ibis Antwerp"
21st September 2011, Southampton, United Kingdom
The Ibis Antwerp is in a central location. There is no onsite parking, but there is an underground car park right across the road. The rooms are reasonably priced, and there is free wifi. However, I was ignored by the reception staff, despite announcing myself quite clearly, and making eye contact with one of them. They were both behind the bar at the time. When after a few more minutes had passed (and there was more of a queue behind me), I called 'Is anyone on reception?'. At this point the second member of staff (behind the bar, with her back to the reception) turned and said she'd be with me in a moment., and returned to what she was doing. The room was clean, but the bathroom especially was so small that I had to move around the fixtures with great care in order to avoid banging my knees on anything. I am a size 12 (UK) so am not a big person, that will give you some idea of the size of the bathroom! All this having been said, the bar staff in the evening were very friendly, and the reception staff the following morning were very pleasant.
"poor sound insulation spoilt our stay"
13th September 2011, Whitstable, United Kingdom
for the most part we found the hotel adequate. The staff were unfailingly polite and attentive, though at times appeared to be rushed off their feet. The room was clean although small with a distinct lack of storage for clothes. OK for an overnight stay but we were there 3 nights. The bathroom, especially the shower cubicle was too small to be comfortable. The biggest problem was with noise. people going along the corridor chatting at all hours, doors that couldn't be closed without enormous crashes and when people in the surrounding rooms used their WC or Shower it felt like we were in the room with them. The result was that we didn't get a good nights sleep for the duration of our stay.
"Good for business and leisure"
23rd July 2011, SwanseaTom, Swansea
Good location close to the main station and shopping areas. 10 minute walk to the old town but a good 30-40 minute walk to the old harbour and MAS museum. There is a market in the square outside on weekends, so if you sleep with the window open like I did expect to be woken up fairly early by the noise outside! Hotel was short staffed one night with 1 person doing receptionist, barmaid and chef so service was a bit slow.
"poor service"
23rd June 2011, northampton
The service received was rude, unhelpful, not interested. although having a sercured online booking this was ignored & we were not wanted.we had to fight to stay for a few nights & fight harder to be placed at another hotel at nocost.
"Expensive Internet and Breakfast"
3rd June 2011, Sugar Land
I have stayed two times in this hotel now. It is a good nice clean hotel. i find the 10 euros per day for the internet to be very high while most of the hotels are free wireless internet. The breakfast for 14 Euros is not worth it. The variety at the breakfast is limited.
"Students!"
1st June 2011, Milano
I had an orrible hight experience because on the floor up there was a lot of can students in visit to Antwerp and you can image what is happened during the night. All people was drank! Unfortunately nobody from the Hotel Desk supported us to create the quite. I slep very bad!!
"Ibis Antwerpen Centrum: good value"
30th May 2011, Crick, Northamptonshire UK
The only gripe was that we could have wished for a bit more elbow room in the room itself, but given the excellent location of the hotel and the relatively low cost of the room (especially over the weekend) that seems unkind! Friendly helpful staff; very clean throughout, comfortable room and beds. Very handy underground car park opposite.
"Well located"
12th May 2011, Luxembourg
Friendly and efficient staff, small room but clean and comfortable, walls are on the thin side, but the hotel is in a great location, on the edge of the old town, lots of bars and restaurants, would stay there again.
