ibis Lyon Part Dieu Les Halles: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great stay"

11th May 2012, Quillcole, Birmingham, United Kingdom

Good place for overnight especially on the train. Staff very helpful and friendly. Directions to hotel not good, we started off going to a different Ibis hotel. In fairness it was raining heavily at the time. Building works quite extensive at the moment around the station, but do not impact the hotel.

The internet booking process is very easy. The hotel is right next to the train station, and very eay to find. The room is clean, very convenient, excellent value

ibis Lyon Part Dieu Les Halles: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Lyon"

13th September 2011, Turin

Hotel had everything you would expect of a chain like Ibis, the room was nicely decorated and quite small but not a problem. The location is not the absolute best for tourists, but its not a very far walk to get into the center of the city, and we chose it for its closeness to the train station which was well worth it. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, restaurant quite expensive but convenient.

ibis Lyon Part Dieu Les Halles: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Part Dieu Les Halles"

2nd July 2011, Newcastle

Hotel very clean. It does have air con both in hotel areas and the rooms even though I couldn't find this on the website. Towels and beds changed daily. Main drawback for us was no tea/coffee making facilities in room, we were gasping for a cuppa! The room was quite compact, we had a twin, the beds were always made up pushed together and there was very little room to separate them. Bathroom also compact but a good shower. Liquid soap and shower gel provided. Wardrobe tiny, about a foot of hanging space on one side and 3 shelves on the other, no drawers. Location good, walkable from Part Dieu station (where the Rhone Express from the airport arrives at). Les Halles food market directly opposite worth a visit, closed on Mondays, and a good little supermarket just around the corner. Breakfast was fine, reasonable value at 8 euros, although they did try to charge us for 3 days breakfast on checkout when we'd only had two! Fantastic city, the transport system is superb but it is actually compact enough to be walkable if you're not in a hurry.

ibis Lyon Part Dieu Les Halles: 5.0 out of 5 stars "a good place to stay"

2nd July 2011, Columbia MO

I like Ibis hotels because they are consistently clean, environmentally conscious, and staffed by pleasant people. We were able to park quite near the hotel (one time directly in front of it) even though we were in and out quite a bit. There did not appear to be any air conditioning in the rooms. The window does open, so we were comfortable, but if the weather had been any hotter we would not have been. So just a warning--stay here when the weather is moderate! The breakfast is fabulous.

Convenient to la Gare Part Dieu. Rooms are compact, but lack nothing except control of air temp. A little warm for me. I appreciate the cleanliness and consistency of Ibis. Great value for weekend rates. I have stayed in this hotel 3 times. Be sure to visit Les Halles de Lyon and the parc de la tete d'or.

ibis Lyon Part Dieu Les Halles: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great location"

25th May 2011, Gisgirl, Victoria Australia

So close to the main railway station and Metro and also to a large shopping centre!Breakfast was plentiful and varied and it was great to be able to have a simple " value for money" meal without leaving the hotel.Rooms were quite small but adequate, bright and clean. We even had a very pleasant view.Staff were generous with time and advice.

ibis Lyon Part Dieu Les Halles: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Staff!!"

Amazing Service from Front Desk Staff!! Very polite and professional, and they will see me the next time I am in Lyon. Clean rooms and the space was small but suffice. Great breakfast selection and bar was open late. Close to train station and the

Rooms too small and hot during the night. It may not be a problem for one night stay but we stayed for four days and it is almost impossible for two person to spend more than a few hours in the room.

ibis Lyon Part Dieu Les Halles: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Seeing France on a bicycle (velo)"

11th May 2011, Lucon France

The IBIS hotels are a stanard model & this is about the 40th I have stayed in. They are great for a leisure traveller. However, they do not provide a good internet service. If you want to use voice or Skype to communicate with your family they have contracted to Orange & the service is non existant. They do not tell you in their adds they talk about internet & email. The Hotel food is acceptable, however, since you are in France I would suggest you go outside to a local restaurant. It is good value especially for sales people except for internet connections.

ibis Lyon Part Dieu Les Halles: 5.0 out of 5 stars "really confortable bed"

4th April 2011, Edinburgh

I stayed in this hotel with my fiance for a week when we went to Lyon for a friend's wedding. The room was clean and the bed was really confortable. We had free wifi which was nice :).This hotel is a good choice for staying in Lyon. The only issue I had was with the cleaners. They never looked to see if we had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door.Once one of the opened the door without knocking while we were sleeping.Another time they knocked at the door for 1 minute while I was in the shower even though I had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door.
