Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Airport: 4.0 out of 5 stars ""airport" is misleading ........................"

18th February 2013, plymouth

"airport" is misleading in that 8kms away and 8 seat shuttle dependent. [after unexpected room allocation problems everything fine][would like to add Amsterdam city itself easily accessible by local bus 197 or train from Schiphol; ARTIS ZOO well worth visit.]

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Airport: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Value for money, with good service and great food."

16th October 2012, gkillick, What does this mean?

This is a very well-run hotel. The staff are professional and service focussed. With very few exceptions, the front-of-house, restaurant and housekeeping staff go out of their way to be helpful. Almost all of the restaurant staff anticipate diners' needs and provide a friendly but respectful service that makes the dining experience all the more enjoyable. The dining experience is always a pleasure - the quality and range of food offered at the breakfast buffet couldn't be better and the level of expertise of the dining room kitchen deserves many congratulations, as well as being good value for money. Whenever I stay in Amsterdam, it has to be the Mercure Amsterdam Airport.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Airport: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Out of the way but close enough to Schjphol"

10th August 2012, GeorgeR1952, Brisbane, Australia

Away from the noise of freeways, close enough to the airport by hotel bus to catch a train to the city or a plane to another city. Friendly and helpful staff inside and bunnies in the gardens. Clean and fresh inside and out.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Airport: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Short stay hotel"

8th June 2012, hbenats, Boussoit

Hotel easy accessible, 10 min from Schiphol airportI spend about 100 nights / year in various hotels all over the world. This hotel is proposing the most expensive breakfast I ever met : 21 Euro ! I did of course not breakfast at that price and had a good breakfast at airport for less than 10 EuroService is ok. People willing to help and smilling.Room small but generally ok (except old style hair dryers). TV selection program large. Pay TV not working during my stay. Free wireless in the rooms (= excellent)Wd have expected a free parking as not at airport but it's not the case

Management responseThank you for your kind feedback! Good to know for you that the parking is free during the weekends and we serve English and Healthy breakfast in the bar for Eur 14,50 per person. Nice to welcome you again in the near future!

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Airport: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Nice place to start a trip"

3rd September 2011, Buffalo NY

If you have an early flight out of Schiphol, this hotel is great for a relaxing relaxing start. The room is very nice and quiet, though I prefer a double bed instead of 2 single beds next to each other. The park and sleep option is excellent too. It's well worth the money.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Airport: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Cost effective quality hotel"

3rd September 2011, Girvan, United Kingdom

Convenient and cost effective. Not a new hotel but well maintained. The bed was very comfortable and a speedy check in and out. The free shuttle to the airport (and train station) is great except for one driver who got to 140km/hr.........

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Airport: 3.0 out of 5 stars "never ever..."

22nd July 2011, Budapest

hotel policy: deposit or credit card as deposit for 40 euros. I did not want to give my card or cash as the room was prepaid and I never use anything else in a hotel (minibar, pay tv). But the girl at the desk told me: this is hotel policy. Finally I gave her my card with not too much money on it (cca. 80 euros). She told me they will not charge my card. Then I got more sms on my mobile, that they tried to charge my card more times. And with more than 40 euros. This is a shame. I stayed at many hotels in the world but this is unacceptable...The hotel is not bad but for sure not a 4 star hotel... The only good things were the free parking during the weekend and the bus from the hotel direct to the center. and the free wifi...But never ever again...

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Airport: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Out of Amsterdam and comfy"

15th July 2011, Frankfurt am Main

We stayed here as we were travelling extensively through Europe and wanted to save some money by not staying in Amsterdam. This hotel had a lovely updated gym and was well suited for business travellers. We stayed 5 nights and caught the bus into Amsterdam everyday, which took about 15-20minutes. The hotel is clean but some of the reception staff are a bit rude. The rooms and bed were or a decent size and comfy. We would recommend this hotel if you don't mind the bus travel into and out of Amsterdam and are looking to save some money.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Airport: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Overall a good hotel, but I had some issues"

12th June 2011, Prague

I have stayed in this hotel prior to this trip, and it is not a bad hotel. It's away from the city center, but the free shuttle bus to the airport (with frequent train connections to the centre) make it relatively easy to go to and from the city center. During this stay, i had paid for breakfast for two days. This is a typical breakfast buffet found at many hotels. I was disappointed that the first day, the scrambled eggs and bacon trays were left empty for the duration of the time I was breakfast. Breads and cheeses were plentiful, and were constantly re-stocked, but no effort was made to replenish the heavier items during the roughly 45 minutes I spent in the restaurant.Secondly, I became ill during my stay (no fault of the hotel) and was interrupted twice by room service despite having a "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging from the door. Finally, they even called into the room to see if they could clean. This blatant disregard for the placard on the door is unacceptable in my view.Overall, I have no serious complaints with this hotel, as these problems may be one-offs which others may not experience when staying at this hotel. So I would recommend this hotel, but I can't rate my most recent visit too highly because of the issues I had.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam Airport: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent hotel"

11th February 2011, Limelette

I would recommend this hotel not only for stay related to Schiphol flights but also for stay in A'dam. Shuttle to the airport is very convenient and Hotel staffing very kind and welcoming
