"A delightful, well run and well appointed hotel in a very convenient part of central Venice"
19th May 2012, Jane B, Moissac, Midi-Pyrenees, France
We were delighted with our hotel the Papadopoli for many reasons. Firstly it is situated in a very convenient part of central Venice very close to the Bus Station and on a small canal just off the Grand Canal so much quieter than many other locations. The Hotel is charming and the decor very attractive, showcasing a more traditional Venetian style. The rooms are just wonderful, the beds comfortable and all the facilities and small touches make for a very comfortable stay indeed. The restaurant and bar are just great and the staff so helpful and welcoming from the front desk to the bar staff, restaurant and even the domestic staff. Nothing is too much trouble if presented in a polite and respectful way. ( I did observe some guests being extremely demanding and impolite unfortunately, however thankfully and too their credit the staff managed that problem with great skill.)Our expectations of this hotel were greatly exceeded and thus we enjoyed our stay in Venice immensely! It is a wonderful city and a wonderful hotel.

"Well worth a stay"

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The Garden Restaurant, food and service was excellent. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was large and comfortable overlooking the gardens. The location of the hotel is very good is you are travelling by train.
"Vienna on the canal"
9th March 2012, TERRIGAL
Had a lovely room with lots of character with a balcony overlooking the canal. Enjoyed everything about this hotel although keep your bags light. Carrying them up and over three bridges takes the luster off your arrival. Also watch those "free" taxi offers to Marano island to buy their beautiful glass...your pockets will be lightened significantly for your return journey over the bridges...
"A Walking Weekend in Venezia...."
24th February 2012, San Diego
Not in the heart of the touristy areas! We took the train into Venice, arriving around 6:00 in the morning and the hotel was amazing to let us drop off bags, take showers and change. Rooms are quite large and spacious with very nice views. We didn't want to stay right by San Marco and we were pleasantly surprised by the location. A 20 -30 minute walk took us to Rialto and then San Marco, so getting around wasn't a problem. We took a water taxi once from San Marco back to the area of the train station: Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia. I wouldn't stay more than two nights in Venice, since we were able to see so much of it in that time. Don't eat in the hotel - food is fine, but WAY overpriced and you can walk to another restuarant in the area for less.

The hotel is nice. Nice staff. Clean and nice location. Big problem with heating in the room and also in the lobby and restaurant. This was really bad. Management responseDear Guest,Thank your for choosing our Hotel and for sharing your comments with all the TripAdvisor community.I’m glad to find out you have appreciated our personnel and services. In fact we had a mayor problem in common areas (luckily not in the rooms) with the heating system which is quite recent and modern installation, only one year old.It was quite embarrassing and it took a few days of work to find the necessary repair service from the producing company assistance.I wish to apologize for such an inconvenience which is surely out of our standards and hope to have the chance to welcome you back again in Venice in the future.Kind regardsPierpaolo Cocchi – General Manager

"Why has this hotel got low point before?"
31st January 2012, Venice, Italy
It is quite luxury and antique hotel.I stayed at 5th floor which is the canal view side. Actually the view was just okay. If your expectation is focused on it, it will be disapointed. But you will be never disapointed with another things. Specially the greatest bathroom vies was very satisfied. the location is very nice as well. You can find the hotel by 1 minutes walking from bus terminal. I received welcome bar cupon and have a wonderful service at the luxurious bar. If you are not going to stay at the sea side view, I strongly recomend this hotel!!
"Ideal place"
25th January 2012, Melbourne, Australia
The hotel was in an ideal location, on the edge of the old town. Easy access from bus terminal and main line station. Room was excellent, terrace with view over the canal and alps in the distance. About twenty minutes walk from St Marks square, so out of the tourist area and more peaceful. Highly recommended.
"Viva Venezia!"
11th October 2011, Darwin, NT, Australia
A delightful hotel with friendly helpful staff. Ideally located within walking distance to the railwaystation, shops, restaurants, water bus and water taxis. If you're going to the airport a water taxi will pick you up right at the front door. It's the only way to travel. Venice is straight out of a story book and this hotel is in the heart of it. If I ever get the opprtunity to return to Venice I will definitely come back to this hotel.
"First Class Stay in Venice"
12th September 2011, George
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Papadopoli in Venice - the room was spotless, service first class and the food was marvellous. We chose the location for accessibility to the airport and the short distance to board the cruise liner - we will definitely be staying at Accor hotels again.
"Three days in Hotel Papadopoli"
3rd September 2011, Nijmegen
The furniture in the room was rather old-fashioned (but everything worked). Breakfast was good. Very quiet room, well-airconditioned. WiFi was rather expensive (7€ for an uninterrupted period of 3 hrs).
"Papadopoli Venice"
30th August 2011
The hotel is beautiful, the room lovely, the service excellent . Our only problem was when we took a taxi from the airport we had to carry our luggage over a bridge over a canal to get to the hotel. Perhaps there was a water taxi that could have taken us there avoiding this difficulty but, ifso, we didn't know about it.
"Location so so"
4th August 2011, Eagle Rock
Hotel is nice, specially the extremely nice bed & bedding, however, the reception desk staff was pretty aloof. The location was not the best as it is on the opposite side of the train station, (accross the canal, so hard to get luggage over the bridges) & a bit far from most restaurants.
"Hotel Papadopoli"
2nd August 2011, Thirsk
The location to the train station made it very easy for myself and my wife to ferry our suitcases over the canal to the hotel. Once there we were there we were greeted by a very pleasant staff. We also discovered a bottle of prossecco waiting for us on our bed to celebrate our wedding anniversary. In a city that has successfully managed to keep hold of its charm and historical elegance this hotel had all the mod cons for weary traveller. Air conditioning worked well, feather pillows were great and the shower had plenty of water - the only downside were a few wondering ants that made their into our bathroom on a night.
"Great Location!"
31st July 2011, Indianapolis, IN
This being our first visit to Venice, I didn't want to have to navigate the waterways to get to our hotel, so the location of Papadopoli met this requirement. We took the bus from the airport, to the Venice bus station, and then walked a very short block to the hotel. It couldn't have been easier! The hotel is located at the opposite end of San Marco Piazza which we liked, because we were away from the crowds and this let us wander our way to San Marco Piazza, experiencing the beautiful pathways and waterways of Venice. In addition, the terry cloth bathrobes at the hotel were a hit with my teenagers!
"Loved thishHotel from the moment we arrived"
26th July 2011, boomer5258, Canberra, Australia
We stayed for 2 nights in June. We chose this hotel because of its close location to the Santa Lucia train station and because I am an A-Club member. We just loved the feel of this hotel from the moment we arrived with its elegant old style yet with modern amenities. The welcome complimentary drink in the bar was a very nice gesture and our room was gorgeous. We had a view down the small canal which was like a picture postcard. We strolled down to the Piazza San Marco with ease and caught the public ferry back up the Grand Canal rather than the gondolas or private taxi both very expensive. We chose to eat breakfast at the small cafe on the canal opposite the hotel although the breakfast room looked very nice. The free boat trip from the hotel to Murano Island was a nice surprise but suggest keep your credit card in your wallet once you reach the glass factory! This hotel was one of the best we stayed in during our trip to Europe and we have very pleasant memories.
