« Excellent Service »

I had the opportunity to stay with SOFITEL Paris and must admit I was very pleasantly surprised with their high standards of service particularly in Europe and that too in Paris, where the word SERVICE is often ignored if not totally. Yes, its an expensive hotel, the Lobby is very small but their attentiveness to the Guests and addressing Guests by their names makes up for all their shortcomings. If I ever go back to Paris, highly unlikely, I will like to stay at the SOFITEL only.

« Paris »

Great service, good location. Overall the rooms were adequate but the cleanliness of the bathroom was not in keeping with the star raring of this hotel. The restaurant was a standout with both the food and service at superior level to other hotel of this rating.

« Nice hotel with location to match »

We stayed here for 3 nights as the first city on our honeymoon. Chose this hotel based on reviews I had read in regards to location and general opinion on the hotel. The hotel itself is very well presented with a modern feel to the interior when you walk in. The room is on the small side, but it is Paris and we didn't really need any more room than we had, but in saying this we had enough room for our luggage and didn't feel cramped in our room. The bathroom was very spacious and we had a walk in shower with plenty of room. There was a small balcony attached to our room and we could even see the top of the Eiffel Tower from the balcony which was a nice touch. The staff were very courteous and also knew that we were there on our honeymoon and went out of our way to make our stay feel special. The location is very good. It isn't on the Champs so nice and quiet, but only a 5-10 minute walk and you'll be on the Champs. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone after a nice hotel with a good location.

« well located and great service »

Helpful and attentive staff, and a good location! Pleasant and pleasurable environment. Coffee good morning, but the New Year's Eve supper or both. Room good size and bedding, and very good bath. A good cost-beneficial, I recommend.

« Paris Stopover »

From the time we arrived by cab to the hotel, the service was 5 star. Our luggage was quickly collected and we were escorted to registration and quickly registered and in our room. The room was very modern and laid out in a typical Sofitel fashion with the bathroom exposed into the sleeping quarters. The WC was a separate room located near the entrance to the room. The room did not have a desk area if you need to sit and work. Our room was a Jr. Suite and the room size was average however much of the space was committed to the bathroom area, thus the sitting area was rather tight. The included breakfast (in our room rate) was very good and our special order of egg whites scrambled was done to perfection. We were charged 25 Euro per night for having the breakfast delivered to the room, but this was deducted after complaining at checkout. The hotel was convieniently located just a couple blocks from both the Champs Elysees and Rue St. Honore. Overall a quality stay!

Dear guests, We thank you for sharing your experience following your recent stay with us. We are happy to read that you enjoyed it a lot. We would like to take this opportunity to precise that indeed, a large part of our rooms' size is dedicated to the bathroom with a large revolving door so as to give more space. This was the decorative concept defined by our designer. Likewise, there is no traditional desk in our rooms, which generally, in the hotel rooms, face the wall ! In our hotel, you have a real table where you can confortably sit either to eat or to work. The purpose is that our guests feel at home and not in a traditional hotel room with all the standardized codes. We thank you for your kind attention and do hope to have the chance to welcome back in the future. Sincerely, Public Relations Manager

« First time in Paris »

Stayed in a Junior Suite which was very nice. Great large bathroom. Bed is always good as it is a Sofitel Mybed. Comfortable and firm. Pillows were a little bit flat for me. Room came with turndown. Nice but a bit weird. Sometimes got extra water but not always. Staff were friendly and spoke English, which was a bit plus for us as we had limited French. Restaurant was closed for the first four days we were there which we didn't know until we asked. Concierge recommended a restaurant close by, which was fabulous. Restaurant finally opened the second last night we were there. We didn't go until the next night. We had heard all the hype from the staff about the new chef who was very well known in France. So we were intrigued to see what it was like. The seating was very close at the tables or you could sit on high chairs at a bar. No reservations are taken as you just turn up and hope you can get in. Meal was nice but very basic. Hubbie had foie gras which was very bland as was my pate which was a terrine style. Main was lamb and beans for hubbie which was sensational. Whilst I had roast chicken and mashed potatoes that's it, no greens, nothing but a breast and wing of chicken, mashed spuds oh and the smallest amount of jus/gravy. Dessert was chocolate mouse without cream, fruit or any garnish. I had what was described as an old fashioned egg flan. This turned out to be a baked custard with no vanilla, cream or nutmeg. Was expensive for basically a home style mum cooked dinner when she was not at all generous. Breakfast was okay. Inconsistent service from wait staff as sometimes you got the coffee, mint tea shot, butter, etc and other times you had to hunt them down to get a coffee. For a Sofitel is was pretty basic. To give them their due they carried on the best they could with a closed restaurant. However, it was the same when the restaurant was finally up and running. The location of the hotel was good as it was near the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees. Beautiful park within two minutes walk from the hotel, great for a picnic.

« A TRUE GEM on a QUIET STREET, a couple of steps from the ARC OF TRIUMPH! »

We were familiar with the Sofitel brand and were not disappointed with our hotel selection for our stay in Paris. The hotel, not too big, not too small, is ideally located on a very quite street (14,rue de Beaujon), three short blocks from the center of all the action (transit, shopping, dining, nightlife, etc) in Paris. Recently renovated by prestigious Studio Andree Putnam, the hotel is tres chic and simply beautiful. We booked a junior suite and couldn't have been happier with it. Located on the fifth floor, in line with the main entrance to the hotel, our suite (#505) was spacious (even for Parisian standards) and had a small balcony with a beautiful view of the surrounding streets and buildings. The bed (and Sofitel is well known for this) was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on. The bathroom, well stocked with Hermes toiletries, had a huge bathtub and a "rainforest" shower that were simply to die for. The mini-bar included a espresso machine and complimentary coffee (espresso, cappuccino...), teas and Evian water. We got to experience breakfast buffet at the hotel, which was included in our room rate, and were more than satisfied with all the daily offerings. Unfortunately, when we checked in the hotel's restaurant was closed for renovations; however, 3 nights before our stay ended, it re-opened, under the name of "Les Cocottes des Christian Constant", a famous French chef with several other restaurant in Paris, whom we had the pleasure of meeting on opening night. "Les Cocottes" setting was modern and minimalistic, with inviting atmosphere, strikingly delicious food and excellent service. We liked it so much that we dined there again on our last night in Paris. The hotel also has a beautiful bar in the lobby area, several meeting rooms and a gym, where you can break a good sweat. We got free Wi-Fi in the room and other public areas throughout the hotel. We were most impressed with the highly personable level of service provided by all the hotel staff and would like to acknowledge the gracious attentions we got from Mlle. Anjana and M. Amine, as well as the rest of the reception desk and bellhops. They were responsible for making our stay at the Sofitel Arc de Triomphe an unforgettable experience, which we are sure to repeat when visiting Paris again in the future. Merci beaucoup!

« Not worth the expensive »

In my opinion, in specially the concierges has to know much more about good restaurants, not just indicating the most expensives ones. I feel the bar as "cold" because it is open to the door and the reception. The seats in the bar in my opinion are non confortable. Reception some days full of lugagge. It was not bad, bit I will not repeat....

Beaujon, Responsable relations publiques at Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe, responded to this review

Dear Guest, We thank you for sharing your experience following your recent coming at the Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe. We were sorry to read that you were not fully satisfied with your stay. We carefully read your comments which are very important to us. Be sure that they will be shared so as to consider the necessary improvements, especially on the atmosphere of the bar and the seats on which we are currently working. As far as the luggage in the lobby, we are sorry, if due to some combined arrivals at a same moment, it gave a negative impression in the lobby. This will be definitely transmitted to our Head Concierge. We thank you for your attention and collaboration. Sincerely, Public Relations Manager
