I would recommend this hotel, the staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful. the location is perfect for visiting Amsterdam with a short walk from the number 25 tram terminus which connects with any location in the city.The rooms are spacious well equipped and clean, the breakfast is excellent with plenty of fresh quality food available.

A nice alternative for the public transport is hiring a Vespa scooter at our hotel. It will be difficult to find a simular hotel at a cheaper rate. I wished I could always have this rate at your hotel. The one thing that definitely can be improved is the number of elevators in the high tower. 2 elevators for 18 floors is not really enough.

We received a good service at the hotel reception, in the evening at the restaurant and in the mornings at the break fast buffet which was quite complete, all you could imagine and a god quality. A parking area was available directly next to the hotel, it was a secured area.With a 10-15 minutes walk you reach the first tramway station where you get connected to the whole network of Amsterdam

Great place to stay, very clean and great location, however the room that we had was so hot you basically wont sleep. We stayed there for two nights and got about 6 hours sleep. Very stuffy and couldn't open windows.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "I enjoyed my stay!"

Overall I very much enjoyed my stay at Mercure Hotel Amsterdam City. The room that I stayed in for the majority of my stay was very clean and modern. I was, however, initially placed in a much older room with two twin beds when I checked in early in the morning for which I spent an extra fifty Euros. The staff told me that for a nicer room with one double bed I would have to pack my things up again and place my bags in the storage area near reception. I had hoped that for the extra money that I spent for early check-in that I could settle in immediately when I arrived. However, once I did get to my new room in which I stayed nine nights, I found the amenities very adequate. I especially liked the shower with two different shower heads, one hand held and the other larger one that was in the center of the rectangular shaped shower.It is important to note that the fastest way to the city center is via the tram at the President Kennedylaan tram station. In order to get there you have to turn right at the hotel front door and keep walking over the bridge over the Amstel. The map that I was given was a bit confusing.

Mercure Hotel Amsterdam City: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Drain sound from the shower."

The hotel had a good standard, and a nice breakfast, but everytime someone took a shower, I could hear loud sounds coming from the drain in the shower. This is not great when you try to sleep.This was in room 7007. I do not think that I will return for this simple reason.Regards,Erlend Kjesæth
