Arriving at the Novatel Darling Harbour we were met with a very friendly, helpful young lady at the desk and that is how our stay continued with ALL the staff. Our room was large, clean with all that we would need for a relaxing stay. A wonderful, whatever you could want, breakfast started us off for the day and the bar with its balcony was a nice way to end the day. Several free computers were in easy access in the large foyer to keep in touch with family. The location could not be better allowing for a quiet restful stay but in easy reach of the bustling city by monorail and tram just alongside the hotel ( not creating any noise) also the Star with theatre and casino a very short walk in other direction. A walk around Darling Harbour and round the coastline via the Rocks to Circular Key is a suggestion! All in all a great stay - one we will be repeating!!

"Over committed - under-delivered"

breakfast on Sunday poor > many foods out by 9.30am. services stretched (35 mins for baggage to rooms for eg). appreciated heating of heat pads during night. checkin- out was smoothappreciated the "make-up" gesture of Paul duty manager of cab-charge en lieu. beware of understaffing in a predictably high volume day / weekend.

"Nice to go back"

We had a large room with two double beds & a lovely lofty view of Darling Harbour. It was clean & everything worked. Beds were comfortable. Only negative were 1) Room had connecting (closed) door to next room which was not sound proof so we could hear the guest's smoking cough in the wee hours all night! It freaked our daughter out as it seemed there was a stranger in the room. 2) Shower spray was not very fine & nearly knocked you out when you turned it on! Drink & food service was great -- top views & breakfast was one of the best i have had at a Novotel for ages. Staff were efficient & friendly. I shall return -- a pleasant experience.

we stayed for a short honeymoon. the staff were excellent the room was awsome with a great view of the city especially at night.location perfect as you can walk or jump on a water taxi.there are so many eaterys in the precinct.and heap of shopping for the wife.we would definatley stay again.

"Non- Smoking Room with Smoking Odour"

I require a non-smoking room. Although this was indicated to be the case with this room, the room had a distinct smoking odour. I didn't have time to complain or change rooms as I had to attend a function in the evening. On check-in I was advised that I have received a free upgrade. I would have preferred to stay with my original booking. This is the first sub standard expereince I've had with Novotel.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. Location was perfect for what we wanted to do. The service was first class, the staff could not do enough for us. Facilities are first class. Exceptional value. Would recommend to anyone. Be assured we will return. The added bonus to a great weekend was the unexpected upgrade with a harbour view.

What to say about the Novotel at Darling Harbour?!Picture perfect views of Darling Harbour, Cockle Bay Wharf and the city skyline including the infamous Sydney Tower!We enjoyed dinner at The Dish, A Restaurant - corn on the cob; succulent, juicy and tasty, sourdough bread with butter, oil and balsemic vinegar; ravioli and the ribs - to die for!We also treated ourselves to the full hot breakfast... so much to choose from.The gym, while compact, was a good way to pass time in the afternoon; as are the tennis courts, although we didn't get around to playing in the end!Rooms are a little small but well designed. Pillow choice is a great novelty! We sampled a couple and got it right in the end!!All up, a wonderful stay at a wonderful hotel. Would highly recommend it :)

Reception could not locate my reservation. Thankfully, i had photocopy of the reservation and it got resolved after some wait. Nevertheless the people at the reception were warm and friendly. The men at the concierge were professional and helpful. Free use of computer at lobby area which is a great asset.The room was large and the harbour views from the room was worth the upgrade. The bed was soft and the carpet and furnishings rather worn. The electrical sockets were cleverly hidden but its position did not favour the use of international adaptor - in the end we had to use the socket at the pantry area. Rather impressed the room has an ipod player although it was dusty and quite worn out.Location is great. Easy walk to darling harbour, chinatown, pitt street mall, Star City. Also easy walk to free shuttle service if one wishes to go to the rocks or circular quay.

"Room Worn Down"

As part of my Accor membership, I had been given complimentary night to stay at any of the Accor hotels. I had have the opportunity to claim my complimentary night at Novotel Darling Harbour Sydney. Upon my arrival, the staff had informed me that I had been given a room upgrade to a room facing the Harbour, As I had stayed at this hotel previously and had always been staying in a room facing Pyrmont, I was excited to finally been able to stay in one of the rooms facing the Harbour. But when entering the room, I was a bit disappointed to find that the room is a little bit run down as compared to the room facing Pyrmont, with marks on the walls and the carpet looking a bit tired. The view of the Harbour is superb. The hotel is located right on Darling Harbour, with the Star Casino nearby and Chinatown within a walking distance. The monorail and light train stations are close by.

"Great location"

This hotel is situated right on darling harbour and is close to just about everything you may need. The tram or monorail go right past and can be used to get into the city to link up with trains. It has one of the best views from the lounge bar of any hotel I have stayed in at a capital city hotel.If I had to make one observation is one that haunts tea drinkers. The hot water at breakfast was just that, hot. It needs to be boiling to make a decent cup, and I like a mug, I want a decent cup. The staff were good and bought me a teapot when asked. For us this is the only place to stay when in sydney.

Slept like a baby !! The room was quiet and the bedding fantastic. The room was spacious and clean .It is a great place to stay to take in the Harbour and easy access to Sydney CBD and surrounds via Monorail or Light rail which is just outside the door.

After being tormented into rejoining Accorr I was disapointed with the nquality of the dining service at this motel with breakfast being poorly cooked and cold and when a room service order was just as poor with no real service for children even though the menu states children when the food ordered arrived it was cold and poorly presented plus not of a standard expected of the price charged. we ended up accross the road buying take away to feed the children. We rang the next morning to voice our complaint spoke to Sue who was quite abrupt to my wife and put her onto the catering dept who did not answer the call she gave up waiting in the end. You have a great assett in probably the best location in Australia and run all the services well apart from the one that every person has to have. We need to eat and these days that is a big seller for return trade. As far as the rest of the stay goes from the check in to check out the people were excellent and deserve credit Thank YouNeil Clifford

"For the cost - should have been MILES better....."

A few things to note about the novotel on Darling Harbour. Firstly the location is great - dont get me wrong. Perfectly central to everything.....but....thats about where the excellence ends.The checkin experience is possibly the worst - and if you are a LeClub member, dont expect any sort of priority treatment...it just simply does not happen - which makes it pointless having the priority counter there at all!The housekeeping is terrible - the beds are made very poorly and sheets fall out all night - meaning you will end up untangling yourself at a number of stages each night you stay. Minibars were not stocked routinely - so CHECK YOUR FINAL CHARGES - i was double charged, because i was honest and kept track on the minibar sheet...so be careful. Cleanliness isnt great - toilet was dirty, tiles had smudges of idontknowwhat! on them, and grout was falling out of the tiles in the shower. Airconditioning was sub optimal - and windows dont open, so dont expect a comfortable sleep in the height of summer - i stayed in april and it was terribly hot at night.The crew at the Novotel Darling Harbour really need to take a look at their compatriots at the Novotel Sydney Olympic Park - my number of stays there in the past years have been the best in my recent memory.....Darling Harbour should step up their game to compete with this brilliant crew.

"Beautiful views"

Beautiful views over Darling Harbour. Room service was great value, amazing food, and the service was incredible, they went out of their way to send up what I wanted. However, the service downstairs at the restaurant was terrible, no help or friendly service either at breakfast, or at dinner. Overall, the hotel was central, clean, and the man at the Bell desk down stairs always happy to help with directions, taxis etc.
