We needed an easy to get tomcity centre hotel right in the middle of things when attending the excellent Rewire music festival in The Hague. You know what you will get with a Novotel which is a solid brand with just enough individualism to make it not feel too corporate. This one ticks all the boxes and has attentive enthusiastic staff. Price is great too.
We were made welcome at our arrival, during our stay and while checking out. The service in all respects was very good. Breakfast was a good spread and a more than adequate choice was provided. We enjoyed the use of the shoe-horn to put the car in the parking garage. Now the little thing that can spoil a very good stay - no free mineral water at a Novotel! Not only that, but charging €3,00 for 500ml is just beyond a choke. Even staff agreed with that. We still liked the our stay and hope to be back one day.
Ok stay at the Novotel in The Hague during a very well supported conference at this hotel. The room though was average and the stay was disturbed by a power failure. Positive note of this hotel are the relative cheap parking fees in comparison with the public car parks
Thank you for taking the time to review the Novotel The Hague City Centre. We are pleased that you enjoyed your conference in our hotel. I would like to apologize for the fact that their was a power failure during your stay. Again, thank you for sharing your experience.
Good Location. Easy to get trams from. 10 minutes walk from station. Room fine. Good shower. Helpful staff. Only problem was that the hot breakfast items were often not hot! Tepid on a good day.. Also plates were cold, no plate warmer, which didn't help tepid food.
Thank you for taking the time to review the Novotel The Hague City Centre. I would like to apologize for the fact that some of our breakfast items were not warm enough. I will share your comment with my team, to make sure that they always check if the hotplates are at the write temperature. Again, thank you for sharing your experience and your nice review!
The bottom line (at the top) is that we'll stay here next time we come, and we strongly recommend the hotel to anybody who wants to visit Leiden. 1. Although a little more expensive than we might have paid in a less central location, the location is superb for exploring central Leiden (we were here to visit our son) and for restaurants, museums, etc. So no hassle of figuring out how the public transport systems work (although they are likely to be straightforward, given how sensible the Dutch seem to be). The PLEIN is a large square nearby full of restaurants with people mostly eating outside in the good weather. Well worth a visit and at least one meal. It's a 5 minute walk. 2. The reception staff dealt immediately and in good humour with a problem that had arisen from the booking system. 3. Good breakfasts were thrown in with /our/ weekend booking (/your/ mileage may vary). Staff welcomed our son (who wasn't staying) to breakfast with us. We had driven from Calais via Antwerp. Traffic around Antwerp was very congested due to roadworks and we arrived tired and a bit grumpy, which left our (scruffy) son waiting at the hotel for us for more than an hour. Staff were very kind to him while he waited. The hotel has an underground car park entered and left by a lift. There was plenty of space for us at the weekend, but it's worth checking with them at busier times. CAVEAT: When eating out it is worth checking wherever you go that you can use your credit card. Show waitstaff your card when you ask or you may have the embarrasment (as we did) of having to trek to the nearest VISA machine for hard cash. "Mastercard" sounds too much like "Maestrocard" to be distinguishable... This being said, the restaurant wasn't the tiniest bit perturbed when their Maestrocard machine rejected our Mastercard, and didn't give us the slightest sign that they thought we were trying to bilk them.
