"Senior Solo Travelers"

My career required USA travel 2-3 nights a week for decades, so I may have a different perspective on hotels than others. I look for safe, then clean and I mean clean, then privacy. This hotel exceeded those criteria, plus a formal breakfast with waiters and white table cloths and a hilltop view of a medeval town from every room.Trip Advisor did good on this one.

The location of this hotel is lovely. However, we had to wait quite a long time before we could check in to our room. Views from the room are beautiful.Although it is quite a dated hotel and there were no tea / coffee facilities in the room, overall I would still recommend it.

A room with a view doesn't even begin to describe the superb panorama from each room. The service was first class but meals very expensive- it could do with a table d'hote menu. Otherwise we were thriled to bits with the stay, right down to the reserved parking space.

Except for the view our experience at this hotel was disappointing. This must have been a nice place in the 1970's but it seems that since then not very much has changed. Oh, now there is internet, but you have to get in what feels like an old fashioned phone booth to get access to it - unless you're wiling to pay extra of course. This hotel needs a serious upgrade, that's pretty much all there is to say about it. George

The hotel we were very satisfied. The hotel has wonderful views of Freiburg, is a beautiful and quiet environment near Europapark and also that I visited. The staff was always very helpful and friendly, I highly recommend.

There was a problem with room allocation. The named Duty Manager failed to turn up during the whole of our stay. The replacement who met us after several requests did not have the power to resolve the problem but did the best she could in a caring and understanding way. I would recommend the hotel in all respects except if a problem arises as I could not depend upon there being anyone with enough authority to resolve it.

Quiet and restful Hotel, Excellent Service - nothing too much trouble for the staff. Great leisure facilities. If travelling by car, very convenient for visiting a number of places around Freiburg. We travelled to Lake Titersee, followed the 'clock' way to Triberg and visited the waterfall just outside Triberg. Not within easy walking distance of Freiburg but taxi / hotel transport can be arranged at a cost.

The Mercure Hotel Panorama Freiburg is a beautiful hotel nestled into the Blackforest with views out onto the city of Freiburg. It has a swimming pool that looks out onto the valley and the eating areas take advantage of its hill based setting for optimising the views of the surrounding forest and city views.

This hotel is in a very pretty location, but most of the parking spaces were already reserved for other guests, so we had a little difficulty parking.We were greeted by a very polite receptionist who welcomed us, and told us that our room was on level 3, the entrance floor. When we got there, we found it was a smoking room - we hadn't been asked if we wanted this, but it wasn't an issue. The balcony was very pleasant, the bathroom clean, the room well presented. The swimming pool was a lovely feature.However, the whole experience was undermined by the Restaurant. Please do not believe what the Accor website, or the Hotel's info flyer . There is only one restaurant, Chez Eric. The food is very expensive, and I did not enjoy it. We had the Petit Menu at 42 Euros a head. The starter was fine, but the salmon on the menu was covered in a very salty sauce and the rice was laden with salt as well - it was horrid. A slice of Viennetta for pudding was ridiculous given the price. The service was very good, if too formal for a Mercure restaurant ( a fellow diner looked unimpressed at having his pasta serviced under a cloche.)I would advise anyone choosing this hotel not to eat here - bring a picnic or go into the town, unless you want to pay through the nose and not enjoy the meal.

Check in was too slow. The situation of the hotel (scenery) is just perfect. The servica at the restaurant is very good and professionnal. Price-quality is good. There are not enough parking spots next to the hotel.

we highly recommend this hotel; had a great time; first class in every respect; food and service excellent; bathroom could do with air vent!, but this is a minor quibble; would definitely go again; very restful and well located; not in centre of town

the people in the reception were very nice and freindly!The rooms were clean and a very good restaurant wih an excellent service! Recommendable Hotel with a really pretty position near to the city - excellent for sportive people.

This hotel has a good value for its price. The view over the Breisgau is spectaculars. I would certainly come again and also recommand this hotel. The surrounding hills are fabulous for jogging and such.

The hotel is really nice, it is just next to the forest. It is possible to ride bikes, the hotel have some. It is also very essy to go downton by car (5minutes), there is a huge parking so it is easy to find a spot. There are many restaurents, really good food, not expensive at all. This hotel is perfect to have a nice, relaxing weekend...

One of our preferred hotels in Freiburg, just outside the city center. Very quiet and comfortable, and the personell is very friendly. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom could be larger.Unfortunately, no time to experience the wellness center.
